WATCH THIS: MAN SHUTS DOWN ANTISEMITIC WHITE POWER PREACHER
One of my friends in the Boston area took this video and gave me permission to post it. She writes: “ I stood there for twenty minutes, easily. Hitler Youth kept trying to preach about “the evils of the Jews” and the big guy barely let him get a word in edgewise. At one point, the big guy yelled, “I will be here ALL DAY” and the crowd cheered.”
I promise this will be the best thing you see today.

You really only have watch the first 10 minutes of Brett Kavenaugh’s confirmation hearing to realize how blatantly (a Republican-controlled) Congress is corrupting the process of appointing a Supreme Court Justice, mind you, to serve on the highest court for a lifetime. What a shit show.

GOFUNDME: SAVE OUR NAVAJO LANGUAGE
“I never learned my Navajo language and I was never inspired to learn it. As I got older, I realized how valuable our language is to the livelihood of our Navajo Nation. ” -Dr. Shawna L. Begay
Our Navajo or Diné language is in danger of becoming extinct. Help us create and develop the first Navajo-English educational media TV puppet show, “Diné Bí Ná’álkid Time” which means ‘The Navajo Movie Time.’ It will inspire and teach our youth basic language skills using media as a technology tool. Parents, grandparents, children and grandkids can learn to speak Navajo fluently together within their own homes. Long-time friends and educators, Dr. Shawna L. Begay and Charmaine Jackson have teamed up to create this new TV pilot for an all-ages audience or for anyone who wants to learn the Navajo language. With your support, it’ll be the first educational Navajo and English puppet show that will teach and preserve the Navajo language and culture through digital media.
After several years of extensive research on the Navajo Nation, Dr. Begay recently completed her PhD from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas with her doctorate thesis, ‘Developing A Navajo Media Guide: A Community Perspective.’ As project director, she quickly realized she was a pioneer on the topic.
“When I decided what topic to study I realized there existed very little research in Indigenous educational media, especially with our Navajo people,” stated Dr. Begay. “As Navajo people, we have our own learning objectives and Navajo way of knowing is completely different for Euro-Western schooling. I decided that I had to research and develop our own curriculum guide that is meant to teach Navajo through media.” Dr. Begay and Jackson, co-writers of the show, developed the first 3-puppet characters and plan for many more. The pilot features Nanabah-a young Navajo girl, Gáh (Rabbit) and Dlǫ̀ǫ̀ (Prairie Dog) who will go on endless adventures learning about language, gardening, the environment and the importance of family values. Nanabah is fluent in Navajo and likes to teach children about life on the reservation with her animal friends and special guests. Children who want to learn Navajo will also be an important part of the show by interacting with Nanabah, her friends and storyline. Dr. Begay’s research concluded there exists very little research in the area of Indigenous educational media. Currently media is a very powerful tool that can be used to teach. She is cognizant of the digital age we live in and the opportunities to utilize media to revitalize the Navajo language. “Star Wars and Finding Nemo,” dubbed in Navajo, was a great place to start and it has garnered national exposure of our language. However, we need a show based on our own Navajo learning principals our ancestors set out for us to learn and live by. I don’t think a non-Navajo, non-Native or non-Indigenous person can do that for us, nor should they. We, as Navajo, need to produce this show ourselves, if we are to be truly sovereign,” added Dr. Begay. Both educators, Dr. Begay and Jackson, of Naalkid Productions have been talking about this educational language project for about the past four years and still have a long way to go to finance their dream. “With the support of Navajo TV Anchor Colton Shone, our team of Navajo artists, filmmakers, family and friends, this video pilot is a huge step forward,” said Jackson. “Our journey has just begun and the big next step is finding financial support to create a whole new puppet TV series.” We aim to raise $50,000 with this project which will allow us to continue with pre-production and production aspects of making this digital media project become a reality. We need your help to save our language by teaching Navajo to our future generations. Pre-Production: -Script writing for the pilot show -Puppet Development/Creation -Casting for puppeteers and other talent that will be on screen -Hiring of all key cast and crew Production: -Locations and permits -Rental of Studio space -Equipment: cameras, sound, lights, etc. -Cast and Crew budget

Signal Boost Please: Koch Brothers right wing scam to get teachers to leave their unions!
all-in
Greetings,
You may have gotten an e-mail recently from an organization called MyPayMySay, which is trying to scam educators into dropping their union membership. Or you may have gotten an e-mail from someone calling herself “Amanda Burke” earlier in the summer, even before the ink was dry on the Supreme Court’s anti-union Janus v. AFSCME decision.
Sorry, Amanda, we’re sticking with the union! Learn more about the MTA’s All In initiative here.
Both e-mails are actually from the Michigan-based Mackinac Center for Public Policy, a right-wing propaganda machine and pusher of anti-union legislation that is backed by the Koch brothers, U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos and the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), among others.
Mackinac, ALEC and groups like them are out to destroy public-sector unions - and they’re behind many other measures that will harm our students and public education.
But we will continue to fight them - and we’ll keep winning.
Here are ways the Mackinac Center says it has gone about dismantling unions and public education:
-Eliminating the cap on Michigan’s privately run charter schools, draining millions of dollars from public education.
-Turning Michigan into a “right-to-work” state in 2013.
-Privatizing Michigan’s teacher pension system, leaving educators subject to the whims of the market and eliminating their economic security after their years of public service.
-Seeking to use public dollars to promote private schools, reducing revenue for public education.
According to the Center for Media and Democracy, Mackinac even played a role in the 2015 Flint, Michigan, water crisis, in which the drinking water for residents was contaminated, exposing thousands of children and their families to high levels of lead and other hazardous substances.
But you won’t find Mackinac publicly bragging about that one anymore.
Many of our locals and chapters around the state - along with the MTA - have been informing members about moves by Mackinac and other right-wing groups aimed at weakening public-sector unions in the aftermath of Janus. Thank you, and keep it up!
Go here to learn more about the All In initiative. Let’s work together to win full funding for public education this year. And let’s continue to build our power, fight for the schools, colleges and universities and communities we all deserve, and stand up to the wealthy special interests that are out to undermine our unions and our public schools and colleges.
In solidarity,
Merrie and Max

Not BTS related but I don’t know how else to get attention. But basically the deaths of 2 high school students waiting at a bus stop caused by racing buses trying to get to passengers fastest caused a movement among the students of Bangladesh. Kids ranging from ages 7 to 18 are roaming the streets demanding better road safety protesting, controlling traffic and making sure all the cars were going the right way and that all drivers had licences. Teenagers did in 2 days what the government and trained police officers haven’t been able to do in 46 years. The streets of Bangladesh have never been so Clean and organized. Unfortunately the government haven’t been fond of people half their age taking control over the nation so they ordered police officers to beat up kids on the streets who were peacefully protesting. Young kids are getting hit with bats and are getting run over by trucks and the government is doing nothing. What’s worse is that they’re messing with our social media accounts to stop us from posting about what’s happening so that it doesn’t go international. We’re all trying desperately to get international attention so that the government will finally stop torturing innocent young kids who are fighting for a better nation. Teenagers are being kidnapped and people are being hired by people in power to stop us from speaking out about this. Please if you can spread this story on any social media platform you can Use the hashtag #wewantjustice and #wewantjusticeforbangladesh and tag news channels and people who can spread the word. Please. I know that this doesn’t really concern most of you but we are desperately in need of help.

Please help

BANGLADESH NEEDS HELP
For those of you who don’t know Bangladesh, it is a small country right beside India and Myanmar.
I am a Citizen of Bangladesh
This is a plea for help.
On 29th of July 2018, 7 school going students were killed by a reckless bus driver. The students protested with slogans on the same bus stand.
Since then All students of Bangladesh are protesting for safer roads and more strict regulations.
Their intention was never to harm even a single person. Neither it is now.
But today POLICE AND PEOPLE OF CHHATRO LEAGUE(a student council that’s controlled by the government) tortured students with tear shell, they beat students brutally (on 4th August 2018). The students are trying to defend themselves with sticks and tree branches that they’ve found on the streets.
WE NEED YOUR HELP. PLEASE.
LET THE WORLD KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON IN BANGLADESH.
WE DON’T HAVE ACCESS TO OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALLY FACEBOOK(that’s our primary social platform) AND WE ARE IN DESPERATE NEED OF INTERNATIONAL HELP. PLEASE HELP US,PLEASE SPREAD THE NEWS. WE ARE IN DANGER.
If you can’t do anything else, please signal boost this.

Here’s one of the many tactics Trump uses to brainwash his base into believing his boastful lies about his strength and the success of his presidency:
1) Claim there is a major crisis when no such crisis exists. 2) Insist that predecessors either ignored or accelerated crisis. 3) Bully and blame everyone with more lies, in an attempt to look strong. 4) Declare victory for solving the non-crisis by taking credit for what others previously accomplished.
