Hey, I'm Noah. The one and only. I'm a full time singer. Travel everywhere, touring, trying to make my big break. I'm profoundly deaf now, and I've had trouble hearing since I was born. I have a hearing aid, but I don't wear it often, it barely makes a difference anyway, just when I'm performing or practicing. And besides, people tend to judge you if you're wearing that kind of thing... [indie OC for any fandom. please read the read first and about Noah pages, or at least the above description before rping]{fc: Nate Ruess}{female fc: Sara Quin}{mun fc: Logan Lerman}

"'I hope so." He spoke quietly, like he was afraid to. And he was. He could only do so much to make sure that his voice wouldn't go out of control.

Lucy sighed and watched him. She shook her head slightly. ā€œI don’t know. Maybe Erin can bring us something decent laterā€¦ā€ She suggested.

Noah tilted his head as he read the other man's lips. "I do it myself. There's nothing else around here." He spoke in as soft of a voice as he could. There was no need to risk anyone else's hearing. His mutation had already destroyed his own. He snapped his fingers and the fire that was burning around his hand went out.Ā

Nick stood in the doorway with his arms crossed. ā€œThought I’d come check up on you- since that’s technically what I’m supposed to be doing.ā€ He was a caretaker. His job was to take care of the mutants. He guessed that had something to do with making sure they didn’t set themselves on fire or anything too crazy. ā€œDo they give you anything to do or do you just make fire for yourself?ā€ He asked, furrowing his eyebrows.

He tilted his head back to hit the wall. "Wont they at least bring food that isn't drugged?" He was hungry and contemplating eating something from the tray of food that was still in the room.

Lucy shook her head at him. ā€œā€˜Friad not. Maximum security. Guards and cameras everywhere. There’s no way to get out. Can’t so much as sneeze without them knowing.ā€

[open] v: don't feed the animals
Noah sighed as he played with fire of his own creation. Endless hours left him with nothing else to do. He stood as he saw someone at the door and stepped back. Other people rarely meant anything good. The most he could hope for is that they didn't have that stupid muzzle again.

He frowned, talking didn't seem to be an option. Maybe later they would put him somewhere that soundproof. "Is there a way to escape?"Ā

She sighed. ā€œNo, these aren’t. My room is, though.ā€ She replied. ā€œAnd theseā€¦ā€ She removed one of the blockers from her ears. ā€œ.. are mini soundproof walls in my ears. So, yes, I’ll be able to hear you.ā€

"What's that like?" He asked, followed by, "Are these rooms soundproof? Could you hear something I say through this wall?"

She sighed softly and smiled a little. ā€œGuess we’re sort of opposites in that way.ā€ She replied. ā€œI can hear everything.ā€

"I can't hear anymore. I'm beyond most forms of help." He shrugged. It had boiled down to whether Lucy was in his line of sight or not. In that moment, he hadn't seen her warning.

Lucy pursed her lips. ā€œNot useful enough. I was too late in helping you.ā€ She shook her head.

Noah gave a small smile. "You're lucky. You have a useful mutation." He mouthed again. He really wished that he could talk, but he didn't want his voice to go out of control and accidentally hurt Lucy.

Lucy sighed slightly, once more. She faintly smelled blood, but did her best to ignore it, not really wanting to know where it was coming from or why. ā€œThey’ve tried. Can’t get the drugs into me through the food, though.ā€ She replied to him.

He moved to sit crosslegged and stared at the bandages that wrapped his forearms. He wasn't sure if he should remove them or not, but he at least wanted to look at what had been done. Noah pulled at them but stopped immediately, he felt the tug of dried and knew that if he took them off, he would start bleeding. He settled to cross his arms and mouth a question to Lucy. "Did they ever do this to you?"
Open to Verse
Lucy let out a sigh of relief when she saw his eyes open. Thankfully, it seemed it was relatively unharmed. She relaxed a little. Seeing his questioning eyes, she shook her head to tell him that she didn’t know what had happened.

Noah tensed the moment he woke up, expecting that he would be still in that room, being forced to use his mutation for research. When he opened his eyes, he found himself back in the soundproof enclosure and looked to the source of the vibration his fingers were picking up. He then realized that his arms were hurting and covered in bandages. What had they done to him? He looked to Lucy questioningly, curious if she knew what had happened.

Lucy quickly moved back over to the glass when Noah was returned. She knelt down by the glass, her hands pressed against it again. She knocked on it softly, hoping he’d wake up.

He was brought back a few hours later with bandages wrapped around his arms and the hem of his pants slightly burned from the tests that had been done. Noah was in a drugged asleep, though he had been awake for some of what the doctors had done. The man set him in the same place that he had originally fallen asleep in, near the glass separating him and Lucy.

Lucy continued to pound on the glass of her enclosure, trying to stop them from taking the boy. ā€œStop!ā€ But they didn’t listen. They never listened to her.

Noah didn't wake up, not for Lucy's yelling nor the banging on the glass. A few minutes later, a rather large man entered his enclosure and picked him up as if he weighed nothing and brought him somewhere else for tests.Ā

She pounded on the glass again. ā€œNo!ā€ She screamed. She slid to her knees and looked around to see if anyone was coming to take him. She banged on the glass. ā€œWake up! Please wake up!ā€

He rubbed at his eyes desperately, trying to keep them open even though his body had other plans. Within a minute, he slumped against the wall and his head had lolled forward as consciousness was taken from him.

Lucy looked at him sadly, her hands pressed against the glass. ā€œTestsā€¦ā€ She replied to him. It smelled so strong, she wouldn’t be surprised if it took effect soon.

His eyes widened at the realization and he threw the bread to the other side of the room and shoved the tray away with his foot. He didn't know how much time he had until whatever could have been in the food took effect. "Why?" He mouthed to her as he started to feel tired.
Open to Verse
Lucy looked back up at him. She sighed, realizing he hadn’t heard her, and perhaps couldn’t hear at all. She actually envied that. She wished the devices in her ears were to help her hear instead of blocking her hearing. ā€œDrugged. It was drugged.ā€ She mouthed to him.

Noah nodded. He guessed that she was willing to assume all the risk that his voice came with. If it went out of control, it wasn't his problem. He had nothing left to lose.

The caretaker frowned but nodded and wrote something else down ā€œIf I take your muzzle off will you speak to me?ā€ She realized how dangerous it could be but if it got him to trust her it would be worth it by far.

He turned his head when he felt the vibrations of the glass. The girl next to him was yelling something that he couldn't exactly make out. Maybe it was about the food? But he had already had some and seemed fine to him. He mouthed the word "what" at her, not wanting to risk speaking at the moment.
Open to Verse
Lucy banged on the glass of her enclosure, trying her best to get his attention. ā€œDon’t! Don’t eat it!ā€ She yelled. But it was too late, he’d already eaten a piece. She pressed her forehead against the glass and sighed.

Noah didn't heed her warning, considering that he didn't hear her speak. He was hungry and this didn't look too bad. Considering where he had ended up, it could have been worse. He picked up the piece of bread and tore off a small part. He held it up to his mouth and took a tiny bite of it.

Lucy looked around, searching for the source of the smell. It was bitter and made her want to cover her nose, even though that wouldn’t help much. She didn’t need a second whiff to know it was a drug, and a strong one at that, most likely to render someone unconscious seconds after consumption.
Her eyes fell on the tray of food sitting in front of the other mutant. Her eyes widened. ā€œDon’t eat thatā€¦ā€ She told them.
