It's been an hour and so far... only two signatures. That was rather disappointing, she had to admit. And with such a cause as well. While it wasn't something that she herself could personally relate to, Jasmine knew that she needed to support and do everything she could to ensure that this cause received the recognition it deserved. So even if she has to wander around the entire town for hours on end, even if it means not taking any breaks, she would do so.
"Hello! May I borrow a moment of your time, please?" The Cave of Wonders had been rather busy that day, she noticed, which was why she decided to take her campaign to the front of the antique store. The semi-heiress smiled warmly before she continued. "I was wondering if you'd be interested in signing this petition for the local orphanage? We're trying to gain a thousand signatures to convince city hall to invest in a new, better program and home to better help our town's orphans and foster kids."

Was Jasmine hiding? You could say that. Her dearest baba had found her a new suitor that would be "oh, such a perfect match!" and, frankly, she was ready to pass up on such an opportunity. So while baba, the suitor, and his own parents were waiting at the restaurant for her, the college student was taking matters into her own hands. Deciding that instead, today was a rather nice day to explore Rosewood Hallow. She would much prefer to see what sort of adventure could pop up instead of being on a stuffy date in an even stuffier setting.
She sighed happily as she strolled down the street. The breeze playing with her dark curls, flowing behind her as she roamed back. She had her ear buds in her ear, listening to Felukah's discography, and looked around. Taking in everything. Despite growing up in the college town, there was still so much of it that she hasn't seen. So many things that she hasn't tried, so many people she hasn't met. As much as she loved her father, she couldn't help resenting him a little for having kept her shelter all these years.
Well, it's a good thing she was fixing that now.
Moving her head to the beat of the song, her eyes had been admiring one of the shop windows when she ran into someone. "Oh, wAllah—I'm so terribly sorry!" Jasmine quickly pulled her ear buds out and tucked them in her bag. Laughing at his words, she shook her head. "No, you're all good. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. Are you all right?"

Coming out of the ophthalmologist (now wasn't that a fun word for Scrabble night) Sully blinked as the midday light briefly blinded him. He wasn't really excited about needing reading glasses now, but it could be worse. He could need everyday glasses. It could be a hindrance for his work. No, he was lucky, in a certain way. Pity that his job benefits didn't include paying at least partly for his brand-new eyewear, though.
Now, the doctor had said he had to wear the glasses for a little while to get his eyes used to it. Sully knew he meant 'at home', but still he left them on as he stepped out of the building, making sure they didn't squeeze his temples too much, and that they didn't slip off the bridge of his nose. Everything seemed okay so far.
PIcking out the case from his jacket pocket, he remembered he still had a pack of peanuts in there. He popped a few into his mouth, and headed to leave the doctor's doorway, when he accidentally bumped into someone.
"Oh --sorry. Didn't see you there," he said, mouth still full of peanuts. Immediately, he gave them an awkward smile. "Well, isn't that ironic."

Jasmine was no stranger to Evangeline's food. It has become one of her favourites over the years and was one of the places that she was able to enjoy a meal with her father for a moment. Well, as take out and on their own expensive china at home. While she was a big fan of the restaurant, this was her first time being able to actually attend in person. And now with there being new management, she was rather excited to see where it could go from here.
Her eyes widened as she entered the establishment. Turning in a small circle so that she could see each and every single thing the restaurant held. It was beautiful. "A little bit of both," she told the man. Giving him a warm smile before she began to explain. "I've had Evangeline's many times before, but usually as take out at home. This is my first time coming here in person. I love this place!"
Kronk couldn't have been more excited, truly. He'd had a lot of career changes over the course of his life, he could admit that, but he was never ashamed of any of them. He had a lot of gifts and hobbies, and that was always a good thing. At least, he liked to think so. He still had the squirrel scouts to think of, but he was getting help in that regard, and now, well, he was over the moon to be managing Evangeline's, in Ray's absence. The man trusted him with a huge responsibility, and he was not about to take that for granted.
As the new manager, he wanted to make sure he got to know his customers, and therefore wanted to introduce himself as the restaurant began to fill up. "Welcome to Evangeline's," he greeted, with a warm smile. "First time visiting or have we been here before?"

JASMINE AKBARI is twenty-two years old. She is a Political Sciences Major. She is the humanized version of Jasmine from the Disney film, Aladdin. She looks like Medalion Rahimi.
+ Headstrong, Adventurous, Intuitive
- Serious, Defiant, Fussy
ABOUT JASMINE
Jasmine Akbari is as close to an heiress as one can get in a small town like Redwood Hollow. Her family came from wealth on her father’s side, and Jasmine herself was expected to marry into wealth too.
As she grew older, Jasmine began to feel trapped by the expectations put on her shoulders. Her parents were always setting her up with appropriate “suitors” in her teens, and making decisions without her input.
When it came time to leave school, Jasmine took matters into her own hands, applying for the Political Sciences program at Redwood College. She was expected to attend a more prestigious university out of state but was determined to make her own decisions about her future.
Though her upbringing often makes her come across as entitled and snobby, Jasmine has a keen interest in uplifting voices of those not often heard, and volunteers in some community outreach programs.
BIOGRAPHY
Trigger Warning: Parental Death
For as long as Jasmine can remember, the world was at her fingertips. Well, almost. She could nearly touch it through her golden, gilded cage that was set up around her from childhood. Her parents were incredibly protective over their only child, and after her mother passed away due to an accident, that protectiveness in her father grew tenfold. Suddenly he was afraid of losing his daughter the same way he lost his wife, and he refused to allow that to happen. Believing that caging her in was the best and smartest thing to do.
Thanks to his extensive wealth that the Akbaris have possessed for centuries, he could afford to go to such means. She was given the best tutors that money could buy, ensuring that Jasmine was brought up to be the perfect lady. Trained in etiquette and in knowing how to be the perfect woman in both her ethnicity's cultures and her Western upbringing, perhaps one might've expected her to be more well-behaved.
One would be quite and incredibly wrong.
While she knew how to be diplomatic, Jasmine held a rebellious streak and a strong mind. Speaking up whenever something displeased her and asking questions that tended to stump those unexpected to hear such words from her mouth. She grew exhausted over her father's expectations. She grew tired of having to be the perfect lady instead of being able to choose who she could be. She grew frustrated that she was not allowed to live her life how she wanted.
Then came the suitors. She was a teenager when they first appeared, and while she was told that she wouldn't have to marry until she was an adult, she was expected to be in a courtship.
Let's just say, she has sabotaged each and every single attempt.
Jasmine would love to marry, one day. But there was still so much she wanted to do, so much she wanted to see, so many people she wanted to meet. She wanted to fall in love and marry whomever she chose; not someone her father chooses for her. What kind of life was that?
Finally, it was time for her to attend college and she put her foot down. Choosing to receive a major in Political Science with a minor in Middle Eastern and North Africa Studies. It wasn't the path that her father choose for her, but it was the path that she choose for herself. Being in school the past few years, it has allowed her the freedom of living her life. Halting the process of being married for the time being. And now, she is contemplating on extending her schooling even longer so that she could hold off on marrying some stuffed shirt, swaggering peacock of her father's choosing.
If she is lucky, she could become a diplomat with her degree and be able to see more of the world. Maybe, just maybe, she could find her own happily ever after in the process.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Jasmine is queer, with her sexuality being panromantic pansexuality and her gender being a demi-woman using she/they pronouns. She uses she/her primarily, but sometimes prefers they/them.
Jasmine can speak a variety of languages to various degrees: Farsi, Dari, English, Arabic (including all dialects), Hebrew, Turkish, Armenian, Georgian, Azeri, Aramaic, Ladino, Judeo-Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Pashto, and French. She wanted to know every language within the SWANASA region, especially those connected to her Persian and Mizrahi Jewish heritages, and therefor is fluent in Farsi, Judeo-Arabic, and English.
The Akbari family wealth comes from a luxurious hotelier and cruise line called Agrabah. There are over 200 hotels all over the world fitting a global theme, usually in line to the environment they're located at, and twenty cruise ships. The board is expecting to launch an airline within the next five years.
Initially, she was hoping to one day take over Agrabah, until she learned that her father intended on handing the reign over to her future husband. Which was another reason that led her choosing to become a diplomat.
Jasmine still doesn't have her license nor does she know how to drive. She rides her bicycle everywhere she goes, even though she would love to finally learn. Hoping that it could lead her to gaining more freedom in the future.
CONNECTIONS
Aladdin “Ali” Bahar - A young man Jasmine recognises from her teens. He is pretending to be of a higher status than he is, but Jasmine knows he is lying.
Rajah Tahir- Jasmine’s best friend and confidant.
Jason Koren - The Akbari financial advisor.
