She’s usually chill, but, uh… she’ll probs be hella mad if I break my word. She’s… scary when she’s mad.” He laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. “You can come along! Yaknow, so you can see I’m not gonna clobber anyone with it!”

“Oh my- are you sure that’s a good idea? I mean, of course it’s my job to ensure the students don’t. . . ‘clobber’ one another, but I also feel as though your peers and my fellow staff could take things the wrong way if they see me hanging around you, no?” [ Reputations are very important in school- and unfortunately, the “foreign exchange teacher who isn’t Japanese in the slightest” isn’t really helping her sit right in the minds of her employers. ]

It surprised him the other teachers hadn’t warned this woman about his delinquent reputation. Akira wondered how long she’ll last before turning away from the truth. 

In the meantime, he tried for kindness. “I’m happy to help…” A tired grin. “Let me walk you there?’

“Oh! Thank you so much- you don’t know how much I needed an act of kindness today. . .” [ It was true- people seemed to have a tendency to be rather rude with the foreign teacher for whatever reason- human decency was hard to come by and this brightened her day. The teacher offers the so-called delinquent a genuine smile before tucking her paperwork under her arm- they were her lesson plans for the day. ] “Please, lead the way Mister- Uh. . .” [ Oh boy, she didn’t even know the lad’s name! To be fair, she only started working at the academy mere days ago. ]
