unknown Danmei
Your Majesty, You Mustn’t!
Ok!! SO this is my attempt to promote Unknown Danmei and grow their fandom to infinity and beyond !!!! ......why did I say that, anyway, my first Danmei of this series is "Your Majesty, You Mustn’t!" and why should you read it!
Your Majesty, You Mustn’t! is set in ancient China is a supposedly made-believe point in history and starts with our MC Xiao Rong, who is an aspiring dancer with a lot of historical knowledge on this period, for some spoilerish reasons gets transmigrated into the era and, by the power of system, is bound to the prominent warlord Qu Yunmei by life or death! So romantic!! Or not! So why should you read this? Firstly !! I will say Xiao Rong is one of the best protagonists out there in terms of being relatable, realistic and in general super interesting!! Don't judge him too soon before reading the entire novel because ohhh boyyy!! Reading his journey is so worth it and not only his character development but Qu Yanmei also has such amazing character flaws and development that I rarely see in Danmei MLs, but I think the most amazing thing about the entire novel was that they each acknowledged their flaws and their innate nature, they also accepted that changing some things is really hard, so all they can do is have themselves or others fill in for their flaws because they are not alone!! This is such an important aspect of the story that genuinely made me cry!! Having flaws is not bad! Having prejudice or fear is not wrong; what's wrong is not acknowledging them and using them as an excuse for your actions that may harm others. MC and ML tackle this by trying to be a better version of themselves, and our MC and ML as humans, struggle with this change a lot and intentionally or unintentionally hurt each other. Still, I think that's what forms their genuine relationship that they hurt each other, they realise their mistake and try to make amends, and sometimes the situation or their feelings are not in favour. However, they still try hard to come up with answers. The process is painful, but we can see their feelings for each other are genuine. Despite what Xiao Rong says, he is just using others to escape from his unintentional fate; he genuinely cares for others and tries to get along with them, even with their vastly different ideologies. One great point about this novel is that it portrays that living with different people is hard, even if you're working towards the same goal; each person has their own thoughts, their own agendas, that what you may find insignificant others may not necessarily, everyone may get aong well but there might unknown grievances each person has to endure to reach their final goal some can endure and some might not, this raw human nature is potrayed so well and that's what makes the novel even more amazing!!!
