Well, she loved baking, and she loved putting together little surprises for the campers that would make at least two or three of them roll their eyes. And surprise pancakes were the perfect crossroads of those two things…

“Abso-lutely!” 

“Aaaaalllrighty!” He grins, bouncing on his heels and clasping his hands together. Hands press to his cheeks, and he leans forward. He’s delighted! And every bit into making those surprise gifts for the campers, even if his effort doesn’t ALWAYS go appreciated by every single camper. But as far as he’s convinced? It’s totally the thought that counts! 

“Let me know which is a good day for you, and we can get to work! ... We have to make sure we have the ingredients first, though!”

“Hell-llo Daisy!” He chirps, beaming just as bright as usual. Hands on his hips shift positions with his weight; one stays, but the other comes to his chin in contemplations. 

“Y’know, I was wondering -- do you think it'd be possible to get together and make chocolate pancakes for the campers? I just think that it'd be great to give them a little breakfast surprise!”

Well! Wilson, this summer, was actually open  to helping with the camp. When they’d first met, he’d been cold, and distant, and absolutely unwilling  to do anything but lock himself up in the safety of the counselor’s cabin. But now ... surprisingly, he’s willing to work here and everything! Help with the kids, help with food, be a co-counselor -- and honestly, he couldn’t be happier! The kids seemed to take a good liking to him -- perhaps even a little more than they liked him,  but that didn’t bother the taller one much at all. Kids prefer different people; he can’t help that!

They’ve also been growing PREETTY close lately. Well, closer than they already HAD been. Like .... they’ve been pretty much inseparable ever since David got lost in the woods last summer; through a miracle, they’d found each other and survived. But they’d started off ... hardly physical at all! Wilson hated being touched then, just like Max hates being touched -- and that’s fine and all, and he’ll respect it. However... it’s been a year since then, and that’s changed a good bit.

Wilson... wants  touch and attention. A lot of it. David’s not sure why the sudden change of heart, but it’s been something that’s built up for awhile now ... and there seems to be no boundaries set! Hell, they’re kissing and David still thinks they’re just friends. Usually, Wilson wants to keep that attention behind closed doors; smooches are exchanged, hugs are given, head pats are demanded .... but it looks like he’s getting frisky today! Right in front of the campers,in the middle of him giving  lecture on what is and what is not edible food ( one of the kids was eating ROCKS again )  .... Wilson tugs him down iby the neckerchief and starts peppering kisses alll over his face! One on his cheek, one on his OTHER cheek, one on his nose, one on his forehead, one near his jaw, one on his lips ....’

David’s face goes PURE red, cheeks rosy in an instant, and he’s giggling -- much to all the children’s gagging  or outcries of EWWW. David, however, tries to put a stop to the kisses ... even though the one that’s planted on his lips leave them tingling, and his heart feeling like it’s fluttering.

“Oohohhh-kay, Wil,” he says, face incredibly red. “I don’t think that’s --- w-we shouldn’t do that here!” He pats Wilson on the head, trying to ignore how sad he’s looking. He can’t really have the heart to be mad  or chastise him; he really is still adjusting back to normal human life, after what he can only presume was a lifetime of torture and being hidden away ... so he probably just didn’t know that now was the best time. However, upon seeing Wilson’s pout, he feels guilty not giving him SOME affection... so he leans down and swoops up Wilson! His arms wrap around his back and pull him completely off his feet, and he holds him oh so close and tight. 

Whispering in his ear, where the campers couldn’t hear him, he elaborates...

“You can kiss me all you want later! Just don’t do it again in front of the kids, mkay?” And gives him a quick smooch on the lips before sitting him down. Hopefully that’s enough to tide Wil over til their night time winding down!
