Took me until about halfway through college before I realized “study” means “play with the material in a variety of ways until you understand it” and not just “read the assigned chapters and do the homework” and I think that probably should have been discussed at some point prior to that.

do not forget the patron saint of these weeks that we celebrate ourselves proudly and openly in the streets

her name was Marsha P Johnson, and we have her to thank for so much.
remember, the first Pride was a riot, and she was one of the brave souls who endured it to help carve the path which so many of us walk today. she helped found several activist groups regarding LGBT safety and wellbeing. and she was absolutely radiant, too.
thank you, Marsha. we remember you.

Polish presidential elections happened yesterday.
Wish me and other nonconformists luck for another 5 years. Pray for ALL Polish women.
It's going to be hell on Earth.

So, I just remembered this! When I first played Origins I thought, 'huh, I'll never romance someone in a video game.' And I didn't really get it. Then I played DA2 for the first time. And I thought, I'll romance someone then break up with them to practice breaking up with my ex (It was a 10+ year relationship, I was trying to leave for a while). So I romanced Fenris, and then the whole story devastated my heart, and I burned and rose from the ashes and was never the same since.

I want to stay positive. I know that helplessness is useless and is used to keep us apathetic and passive. But I’m so goddamn tired of this country.
I’m terrified of how many people voted for hatred. Over 50% of 71% of almost 29 million people voted for a candidate who is xenophobic, homophobic, transphobic, against women’s rights, has criminal connections etc etc.
This doesn’t change much right now. The president of Poland doesn’t have much power except for the power of veto. But this shows a terrifying trend, this shows us what’s most likely going to happen in two years in the next parliamentary election.
But also by vetoing every bill every new law he’s going to ensure that the current government will not be able to do anything even if they want to. And that’s going to convince more people who don’t understand this to vote for pis in the next election.
I’m terrified. Im terrified that they’re going to restrict access to abortion even more, criminalise it and more people will die. I’m terrified they’re going to spread more xenophobia. I’m terrified of the return of using queer people as scapegoats (not that we’re not used as such now but it’s not as bad as it was when pis had majority). I’m terrified that they will try to leave the eu.
Tomorrow I will try to have more hope and think about grassroots activism and ways to mitigate the harm they will do even a tiny bit. But today I’m scared and tired and can’t help but think about how half of the people I pass on the street voted for hate.
