I was thinking about that bit in Journey's End where the Daleks in Germany speak German and one thing led to another
(I don't know if it's my stupid Dalek voice or the effects, but something really messes up the rolled r sound)
extermina! - exterminate!
explana! - explain!
eleva! - elevate!
pareo - I obey
Doctor es, hostis Dalecorum! - you are the Doctor, the enemy of the Daleks!
quaerite, invenite, exterminate - seek, locate, exterminate
visio mea infracta est, non videre possum! - my vision is impaired, I cannot see!
commutationem temporalem! - emergency temporal shift!
bonus Dalecus esses - you would make a good Dalek

Question: what is Peter saying in Latin?
I've got "Quid fieri" but not the ending. So qualified Latin enthusiasts, please, help!
#i think its: quid fieri cum stulto#stultus meaning a foolish or simple person in much the same derogative way as screwball#the prnounciation is rather odd and it almost sounds as if theres a c (k) in the last word? but in my (10min so take with caution) search i#was unable to find a word that fits with that feature while also sticking close in meaning.#closest would probably be structū from structus heap or pile but youd have to be very liberal with your transported meanings there.

in today's letters: how is cicero doing you ask? um.
Would I not have wanted to see you? No, in truth I did not want to be seen by you. For you would not have seen your brother, not the man you left, not the man you knew, not the man who saw you off when we parted ways—both of us in tears—not even a trace of him, not a shade, but only the likeness of someone dead but still breathing.
i would say he's doing bad

one of my favorite things about classics blogs is each one has like a favorite guy or couple guys and you can tell. i love opening peoples (clearly) classics blogs and figuring out which roman senator or poet or greek general or whatever theyre obsessed with. sometimes its explicit but other times you get to figure it out and that is amazing too. one of the great joys of life

in today's letter: cicero freaks out about not knowing quintus' travel plans! uncertainty and misery! like truly do not forget how utterly miserable he is! cicero sees through atticus' attempts to cheer him up! cicero is upset that he was betrayed by his allies! and cicero is tooooo caught up in either grief or memory (the manuscripts are making out [...] style) to keep writing!
