Both?? Because ok, I am so into top!Derek for all the obvious reasons: because first off, Derek just being totally dominant and in charge is really fucking hot. I mean…

How can you not love the idea of Derek backing Stiles slow against a wall, pinning his wrists in a firm grip and kissing his shocked, stammering, needy mouth quiet? Derek spreading Stiles out on his mattress and opening him up with strong, sure fingers, pounding into him while Stiles’ long legs wrap around his hips, while Stiles urges Derek on in sharp, bratty jibes that go breathless each time Derek hits him just right.

To me, top!Derek brings to mind their early dynamic on the show: Stiles being eager and a little bit unsure and pushing Derek just to see what Derek will do with him. Derek needing that little bit of control and power and dominance while his whole world spirals out of control, to prove he’s the big bad alpha and he’s got his life together and he can take care of Stiles, provide for him, give him exactly what he needs.

But then again there’s bottom!Derek, which is just

It’s such a precious, beautiful thing because it’s all about Derek learning to let go of that small bit of control, learning to let himself be taken care of, let himself just relax and feel good and not carry the weight of a thousand real and imagined responsibilities on his shoulders for just a little while. Bottom!Derek, IMO, isn’t something that happens with just anyone. It’s about trust, and it’s about being good to himself, and it’s something that would only start happening once he and Stiles are in a really good place with each other.

Everyone’s talking about Ryan Gosling’s Oscar nomination for ‘I’m Just Ken’ while Margot Robbie, Greta Gerwig, America Ferrera, and Billie Eilish got no nominations or mentions for their contributions, but I lost any and all respect for the Academy in 2017 when they gave the Oscar for Best Makeup and Hairstyling to Suicide Squad for a CGI/digitally rendered anthropomorphised crocodile and a girl with fake tattoos and split-dyed pony tails

over the extensive work that went into the makeup design and styling in Star Trek: Beyond. Hair and Makeup for Star Trek: Beyond did an incredible job creating alien looks and bringing them to life. Many of the alien looks had different stages/versions to show a human becoming alien and one was even mechanised to conceal something on the back of a crew member’s head because they wanted to use as little CGI as possible.
