Oasis Challenge Day 16: Anything Oasis Related

Okay, so I debated a lot before uploading this letter here. But I felt that this had to be shared now, because, after all, in Noel’s own handwriting it says “Please, pass this message on to all our fans” (as you can see on one of the images above).

The story of this is: In the late 90s I was the president of an Oasis fan club in Brazil. I had this crazy idea that I was going to meet him, so I asked everyone in the fan club to write letters to the Oasis members. I wrote my own letters too, and the history of the club, and binded it all together. In March 1998, Oasis played in Brazil for the first time, and I got to meet them after the concert (Nowadays I look back and try to imagine how the hell that happened, but I was 15 and naive, and everything was possible, so it happened against all odds.) I gave Noel the book, and I think even though he was high and drunk, he really liked it. I took my picture with him, got his autograph (and everyone else’s), give him a peck on the cheek and left (I was 15 after all, I had a curfew!). 

A month later, coming back home from a family Holiday, I found this envelope in our house. 

So in 1998, at age 15, I realized my biggest dream at that time. I think it’s only fitting, since it was thanks to Noel that I started believing that dreams can come true anyway. Oasis’ songs were with  me through my darkest times, and they helped shape the person I am today. 

ps. I added the watermark so wherever this photo goes in the internet, people know where to come back to hear the story of how that letter came to be. And I photoshopped the address out of the envelope, since my parents still live there. :)
