Hey! Are there any drug addict Ian (or Mickey) fics? I’ve read Lost Lullabies and I really liked it and I wanted to read something similar to that only without them being famous actors. Just mainly focusing on drug addiction/struggling with it. Thank you! :)

Lost Lullabies is such a wonderful fic! Maybe it’s because I read it so early on my ff days for Shameless but I personally always think it should be a must read. As for drug addict Ian, surprising he’s not actively struggling with that in as many fics as you’d think.

different anon, but thank you for that shameless fic rec! i'm a newbie here too, i want to read some fic but there's so much, i don't know where to start! do you have any other fics you've read, loved and recommend reading? i'd love to hear your thoughts 😊

ahh no problem! okay so in terms of what i’ve read so far, i’ve basically just been sorting the fics by most amount of kudos on ao3 and working through them that way. generally when i start reading for a new fandom i like focusing on canon compliant fics first before i get into aus (even though i tend to prefer aus on the whole) and that particularly seems to be the case w me for gallavich???

i think it’s because their upbringing is so rooted in who they are as characters that i find it hard to situate them in an au setting? so the majority of fics i’m about to rec are either little canon fix-it/filler fics or longer canon divergent fics but without further ado, here’s some of the fics i’ve read and really enjoyed :’)
