Harry Skydell - Real Estate Leader and Yeshiva University Graduate
A real estate executive and lifelong New Yorker, Harry Skydell studied economics at Yeshiva University while engaging significantly with campus life. In addition to participating on the varsity wrestling team, he served as the president of his sophomore class before going on to hold positions as the treasurer and president of the school’s student council. After graduating summa cum laude, Harry Skydell remained involved with his alma mater, and he currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary at Yeshiva University. Harry Skydell began his real estate career in the early 1980s when he founded Hudson Park Management. Initially invested in walk-up apartments on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, Hudson Park expanded to include holdings such as the Puck Building on Lafayette Street and the Christodora House in the East Village. In the late 1990s, Mr. Skydell left Hudson Park Management to establish The 601W Companies, a commercial real estate firm where he serves as the director of acquisition and development. Since joining 601W, Harry Skydell has helped the company build a substantial portfolio of notable commercial buildings, including the Mobil Building in Manhattan, the Bank of America Tower in San Francisco, and the U.S. Steel Tower in Pittsburgh. The company has also led several very significant renovations and redevelopments over the years, including the transformative redevelopment of the 2.3 million sf Starrett Lehigh Building in Manhattan, and the current $500 million redevelopment of Chicago’s Old Main Post Office as well as the $350 million development of the former Macy's flagship location in the heart of Minneapolis.
