Baked the Japanese milk bread 🍞
Made the condensed milk by myself, simply used milk:sugar=5:1 ratio and mixed into the bread.
Smells amazing and can’t wait to show my husband and hear him say yum 😋

Today San Jose got super hot and reached 29C maximum. Saw the ducks swimming in the swimming pool in the morning with my tiny Guinea pig Kiki.
It was such a hot day and wanted to avoid using the heat for cooking as much as I could, since my guinea pigs seemed to have a rough time, I decided to cook tacos. 🌮
In the evening eventually the heat had gone and could have dinner outside.

Today I baked the cookie for coming Christmas 🎄
The cookie cutter I made from scratch recycling the can turned out to be good. The guinea pig’s shape looks cool.
Tomorrow I’m going to do icing 🧁

Today we went to hiking at Los Gatos area. It was our first time to hike in USA 🇺🇸 The view was quite nice, could see the entire city at once.
Since Christmas season is coming, I begged my husband to pick up the pinecone together to make the Christmas wreathe.
Took an hour plus sitting at the balcony, finished making the one.
I would have added gold and more red, but I didn’t have it on hand so for now this is okay.
Meanwhile for the dinner, I decided to cook udon from scratch. Asked my husband to make the udon dough thinner, we nailed to cook well.
It was such a nice family day.

Cleaned shelf while chatting with my friend for like 5hours on the phone today.
Talked too much and my throat hurts. That’s how much I talked to her.
I showed my cute guinea pig’s friend today again and she loved it…

Cooked pita bread today !
I referred this recipe and it was so soft and yum!
While I let the pita bread to raise, I had one hour for myself so decided to go to run the neighborhood. Compared to the treadmill, the outside was harder because of the incline and winds. I barely could run 4k while I usually somehow managed to run 5k if it’s on machine.
Came back home and started working on the bread again, then realized I didn’t have the tahini sauce for the hummus I wanted to cook with.
I was tempted to go and buy the sauce but stopped myself going out, looked up if there a hummus recipe without a tahini. I don’t know if middle eastern people approve or not, but the hummus was actually good. Though the creaminess and a bit bitterness of the tahini is a charm, the tangerine flavor thanks to the lemon added to the chickpea became a sparkle for the flavor to eat the pita bread together.

Another funny thing today was that when we went out for Costco, at the parking lot we found the bug on our car. And we decided to let it be and drove home back. Then this guy was such a stubborn and didn’t leave for like 15mins of highway traffic wind. I’m impressed with the hassle the bug had in him.

The day before yesterday it rained like crazy. Because of that though today was supposed to be rainy, the forecast changed and turned into be very sunny.
Though the soil was still wet, I found this occasion not to miss out and placed my guinea pigs on the home grown grass and let them enjoy their brunch.
They enjoyed eating some of the herbs that I got from Trader Joe’s, thyme, mint, sage and lavender as well.
They look so peaceful and cheerful, I enjoyed my cup of coffee admiring them at the patio.

In addition to purchasing the new herbs, I got sugar container that looked very cute.
Yesterday when I went to the mall, I didn’t find anything I wanted but when I’m at Trader Joe’s and Marshall, I always find myself getting something new.
Thanks my husband, not saying anything even I buy something that is not necessary.

Today my husband has gone to New York for his business, I had plenty time to go out during the day by myself. (Doesn’t mean he bothers me lol 😂)
I paid a visit to Santana Row in Silicon Valley finally.
In the morning the street was quiet, as soon as when the mall came out to the sight it drastically got busier.
The mall was massive and was beautiful. It’s one of the most beautiful and clean buildings I’ve ever went to in North America.
So many botanicals and lights.
Came back with nothing, but then my Zen mode activated and did cross stitch quite a while.
Wondering what to do with the empty space above those canvas… more plants ?

Washed my guinea pigs today.
They weren’t smelly, just their furs weren’t as smooth as it should be.
After washing them, since we had time to go to the library, we went in and I borrowed a book about cross stitching. Seeing some pages, decided to make plants stitches 🧵.
I will try to fill out the blank canvas as much ad I can. Of course my guinea pig lady on my lap.

Forgot to upload some photos that I knitted the other day for my guinea pigs.
It inspired by the dog’s house and look at this lol
They loved to be covered so when I chill with them I put tiny blanket on them.
So glad they love it. Worth knitting.

Saw some cute cuddle bag for a guinea pig on Amazon. Of course I checked the price for the fabric to use and apparently it was cheaper to make one.
We purchased half yard as $5 at Joann.
After making it, realized I can make one more out of the same fabric.
My guinea pigs love it so much and now they are fighting for who goes in and sleep.

Just a little bit though I let my guinea pigs play on the premium grass that I’m growing in the container. Some of the grass roots aren’t still settled, and the other day one of my ladies ate from the roots, I’m cautiously observing how they eat.
Online says that it takes 3 weeks till the roots are good to go. Since the last time I seeded was like few days ago, I probably shouldn’t let my ladies sit on but still while outside isn’t that too cold I wanted them to enjoy.

My husband started saying that he wants another piggies, and yes I want to but when I look up the guinea pig breeders usually it’s very far. Other provinces are a little bit hard to go get. If we ever come across seeing the texel Guinea pigs that has curly hairs, we will absolutely get one. Let’s see how it goes !

Went to run at the gym, managed to run for like 25minutes and walked for 5 minutes.
Running helps to meditate. When I’m running and listening to music all I think about is just to the beats and lyrics.
Sometimes clearing mind really helps to cleanse everything that’s sticking in the head.
But my best therapist is here:
She was lovely as usual today.

Finished knitting the blanket!
I believe it took me a week to finish this one.
This was one of my biggest knitting projects 🧶
It helped me to know that I have the patience to do it. My guinea pigs played big role to achieve this lol They were on my lap always when I knit and helped me not to move around and kind of forced me to stay at one spot and knitting.
Appreciating their cooperation and let them cuddle and sleep in this blanket from now on when I sit on the couch.
