"My SiX GReATESt FrIEnds"
Haruchiyo: What about me?ššš
I feel so bad for Haru... So mikey never really considered him as one of his greatest friends just because he is weak? The fact that they are childhood friends but Mikey didn't even invite him to be a founding member hurts meš Does Mikey even cared about Him? Seems like Mucho and Senju are the only one who genuinely cares for him, Poor boyšš
Haru is Like that friend who is no one's favorite. He's a friend but never the best friend. He was just an option, can be a choice but never chosen. When Baji met Kazutora and Mikey met Draken seems like they go on with their life and Haru was there left aloneš

If Mikey isn't the one who hurts Sanzu, then why Mikey had blood on his hands and why Baji was trying to hold him back? No mention his "smile Haru" who was more or less a threat. Mikey didn't looked like someone who would have tried to help. I think that it's really Mikey but that the toy plane was not the reason. Mikey goes always TOO far when his dark impulses are here and doesn't care about the target (hurting Sanzu, killing Kazutora in a timeline, killing South, almost killing Takemichi too)
Okay so Iām convinced now that it really was Mikey because otherwise things wonāt make sense but Iāll still list the reasons why I doubted it in the first place. But donāt take this seriously
Iām going to make another post on Haru and what I think exactly happened that day.
Trust me āSmile Haruā was actually Mikey trying to help not threaten.Ā
Senju is narrating the chapter 241 so everything is from her POV. She is painting the scenarios for us so whatever we see is what she assumes happened based on what she saw or heard that day
Her POV is either incomplete or distorted.
TW: Blood, images from chapter 241 and 249 (scar incident).
I only have 3 points to make.
1) Obvious point. Haru doesn't seem to blame Mikey at all. Plus, shouldn't Baji be scared of Mikey just like Senju? Why would he stay around him? Why would he let Draken get close?
2)
As I said the incident is entirely from Senju's POV. She is narrating and showing us what (she thinks) happened based on what she saw or heard that day. Let me go through what happened in the chapter after Mikey found the broken plane.
Senju is reading a manga inside and suddenly hears Baji yell at someone to stop.
Baji doesnāt take a name. He simply yells ććć!!ćććć!!ć (Oi!! Yamero yo!!) āHey!! Stop!!ā. No name. He could be yelling at Mikey or Haru or both. She only heard Baji yell and doesnāt see him but we see the panel of Baji pulling Mikey back.
This means she made this up based on what she heard, which was Baji yelling at someone to stop and since according to her Mikey was hurting Haru, it has to be Mikey being yelled at by Baji to stop. And, since Baji wanted to stop Mikey, he should be pulling Mikey back. So we get the image of Baji pulling Mikey back and yelling at him to stop.
But she didnāt see this happen. Maybe Baji was not yelling at Mikey. Maybe he never tried to pull Mikey back instead got in between them and pushed Mikey away. Maybe he was on the ground all this time. We just donāt know. This is why we don't see Mikey and Haru because she has no idea what exactly they were doing because they didnāt make any sound. She neither saw nor heard them. Did Mikey really hurt Haru? How exactly did he do that? Did Haru let it happen? Did he resist? She doesn't know at all so we don't see it happen.
3)
When she reaches outside she finds Baji, Haru, and Mikey. In her own words, āHaruchiyo with his mouth ripped open, Baji on the ground, and Mikey with his hand soaked in bloodā. Thatās exactly what we see in the panel because she is narrating so we see what she thinks was there.
We see blood on Haru because obviously he will have blood on him, he got his mouth ripped and we see Mikey with blood on his hand because obviously he will have blood on his hands, he ripped Haruā s mouth. The victim and the criminal have the proof of crime on them. Nothing else is important.Ā
But there should be blood on the ground as well. This is something that has bothered me since the first time I read the chapter. Haruā s head is down, there should be blood dripping on the ground but it's not there. Wakui pays attention to detail, it is weird for him to miss this. The one explanation is that it's not Wakui but Senju who missed the blood on the ground because it's not important. It wonāt change anything for her. Haru and Mikey had blood on them thatās all that matters to figure out what happened (for her). Just how simply hearing Baji was enough to figure out (assume) that he tried to stop Mikey.

BUT then we get this another POV which I think is Haruchiyo' s in chapter 249 during his fight with Senju.Ā
Senju's had a normal background with black margins which is used to show the past and flashbacks but this one has a grainy background with white margins. According to other such panels, it shows a simple recall of what the character saw at some point. I'm probably not using the correct term but it is supposed to be different and what it shows is always real and factual i.e. exactly what the character saw and not something made up.
Eg. In chapter 141 Takemichy recalls what Koko and Taiju said in chapters 132 and 133 respectively. Exactly the same panels. Another one, Mikey in chapter 135 is the panel from chapter 109. The images are exactly the same. Words in the speech bubble change but they are just from a different speech bubble from the same scene. BUT all the panels are something that Takemichy saw and experienced himself. He was always present there when the characters were doing what they are doing in the panel.Ā
Now yes this doesnāt confirm that it is from Haruā s POV coz even though Senjuās POV was incomplete, she was still present in that moment BUTĀ
The perspective is different from the one we saw in 241 which was Senju's perspective so it probably is from someone else which is Haru. Senju's was from Mikey's side, this is from Mikey's back.
There's a slight difference between what we see as well. Let's compare the 2 panels.
Chapter 241 SenjuāsPOV
Chapter 249 Haruā s POV

Senju is peeping from the door with a scared expression on both.
Baji is on the ground with his face hidden in both.
Haruchiyo is on his knees with his mouth ripped open with blood on his face and clothes in both. BUT in 249 thereās blood on the ground between his knees as it should have been for obvious reasons.
Mikey is standing there in the same pose I guess. His face is hidden this time. BUT I canāt see any blood on his hands. I zoomed in on the pic and enhanced it, but there are no black lines or patches on his hand. We can see all of their hands and fingers. According to 241, there's a lot of blood on his hands, not just few drops but in 249, nothing. (Yeah I know Iām most probably seeing it wrong but its still weird)
Thatās all ig. As I said in the beginning it probably was Mikey coz otherwise his and Haru ās future actions wonāt make sense but all this is still in head.Ā

hello everyone!
i know that i haven't posted in a while, to which i apologize for, but there is a chapter in the works to be released (hopefully) soon!
now, it should be if not fairly obvious, than already known that i am very shinichiro-obsessed. i love looking at edits, art, writing, and theories.
less a year ago, when i'd first started liking shinichiro, i'd developed an idea soon turned into a short blurb and later a theory (this post).
as of recently, a theory regarding shinichiro's placement in the story as well as his role and influence has been trending, depicting him to be a bad person; i thought it would be fun for me to share some of my thoughts on shinichiro as well as my initial reaction to first reading this theory.
before we get into it though, i recommend you read the theory, and even more attentively its warnings prior to continuing either posts (mine, or the theorists). please stay safe and careful!

1. i was outraged when i first read this, because this is THE shinichiro sano; the one who founded the black dragons, the one known as āthe weak kingā, the one respected among many, many delinquents despite the obvious difference in strength (something desparately needed to be a delinquent), and whether they were his opponents or not, as well as the one who affects the plot of tokyo revengers even decades after his passing. i then realized that i actually have a theory similar to this (the post mentioned references this); shinichiro leading a double life. it sounds unbelievable, that he was able to be such a perfect character ā so humble, kind, empathetic, and responsible, all the while staying true to himself.

2. throughout reading tokyo revengers, i noticed that mikey continued to give parts of himself away to please those around him who he loved. his name, to make emma comfortable; his grief, to make baji happy (by forgiving kazutora despite him killing baji and shinichiro); his sanity, to ensure the safety of his friends (fighting even when it tore him apart because he was the strongest); his hairstyle, to hold onto them even after their passing.

3. i also noticed that every time shinichiro is brought up, it's usually one of the other character's speaking about him, and when he does appear in flashbacks, he's usually a background character. i find that a bit strange due to fact that shinichiro is such a large influence on the characters, plot, and overall, everything.
i donāt know why it took me so long to realize this, but i think tokyo revengers will have a major plot twist ending that somehow ties in all the plot-holes while relating to mikey, shinichiro, or at least the sano family.
mikey also plays a large role in the story, and this was before takemichi threw away his perfect in the future life to save him by going back in time. i always found it strange that his family was almost never covered, brought up, or named; we have little info on his grandfather and parents, except for a page dedicated to them in the official tokyo revengers guidebook (i found something about it on twitter, i'll see if i can find it again).
based on his other manga, sekisei inko, wakui also focuses on the concept of time and how it teaches the main character lessons, whether it be related to immortality or time travel, and the main theme is to always stay honest to yourself/find yourself. this theme also seems to be prevalent in tokyo revengers, so i assume that a lot of things like why takemichi can time travel, how it works, mikeyās role in the story, more about shinichiro sano and his role in the story will all somehow he tied into the last chapter. near the end of sekisei inko, wakui started to introduce more characters that also seemed to be related to each other, making the two mangas to have the larger and more vague themes to be similar. this leads to the question, how will tokyo revengers end? will it end like sekisei inko, with wakui revealing (or really, explaining) how the information was right in front of our eyes and all we had to do was look deeper into it?

4. i also found it quite confusing and a little irritating that we were always shown scenes of takemichi doing things shinichiro was said to do and/or be known for, but never being shown shinichiro in parallel (maybe this is because i wanted to see more scenes of him, but still); in fact, shinichiro really only ever shows up in flashbacks by pure chance.

5. this right here really gets you thinking about how such a major character who affects the plot solely by his existence or absence, is barely involved in it. shinichiro is more present by name than he is by anything else; thereās barely any scenes where he is shown to be his true self or anything in-between, and the flashbacks always have a main focus that relates to mikey or the happenings of the plot, but never shinichiro, who somehow always happens to be only and just there.

6. shinichiroās entire character seems very questionable from the start if you think about it. there's a lot of things that contradict about him; he's a delinquent, but is weak; he's a good person, but leads a gang; he's shown to be responsible and empathetic, uniting people (through strange circumstance), but slacks off and is almost always the opposite of what people expect him to be.
the first time heās mentioned, or at least we assume he is mentioned, is when mikey is speaking about his amazing big bro who reminds him of takemichi and what he stands for. although, the first time we actually see shinichiro, heās trying to defend himself against two kids and inevitably dying when his brothers best friend hit him with a tool from his own motor shop. isnāt it surprising how such a legend could go down so easily, and that his first appearance is his death?
also adding on to shinichiro keeping izana a secret; how did he find izana in the first place? in the manga it shows that he just ran his doorbell and knew who the boy was, while izana had no idea of shinichiroās identity. they exchanged secret letters, and shinichiro even taught him how to fight, but wasnāt shinichiro horrible at fighting?
there's a lot wakui isn't revealing to us, instead leaving the readers with many questions -- although i assume that this is his intention, and that he is planning to end tokyo revengers the same way he did sekisei inko -- through many, many surprises/unexpected revelations.
7. iām starting to think that the ādouble-life shinichiroā theory i came up with last summer is realistic; maybe he, too has dark impulses but is much more adept at hiding them? he also kept the fact that he and izana werenāt related a secret from the boy. i assumed this was because he didnāt want to hurt his feelings or make him feel like an outsider, but how did shinichiro obtain this information in the first place?
please let me say this; i read this theory with bleary eyes and a half-asleep mind. most of what i am typing now was live-tweeted while i was reading the shinichiro-theory last night. everything up to now was before the second half of the theory, when things started to get dark. i don't have much to say about the second half of their theory, just that it alarmed me and made me think of shinichiro and tokyo revengers very differently.
i hope that we get to see the end of the manga soon (even though i don't want it to end) and that shinichiro and his family get more coverage. please do not send hate to the theorist; the theory was just an interpretation of what they assumed would happen in tokyo revengers and was influenced by a show they watched which they made connections to. i also hope you enjoyed reading this theory/writing piece (?) of my own, and please let me know your thoughts!

So lets talk about the symbolism of Sanzuās cover
I may be incorrect lol-
One thing I think a lot of people donāt realize Sanzu named himself (the surrname)
If you didnāt know theres folklore of a river that leads you to the afterlife known as the Sanzu-no-Kawa or the Sanzu river.
I donāt think this was a coincidence and I think the river in his design is a literal reference to this.
Information about the Sanzu RiverĀ
Theres also the lotus flower meaning rebirth in his other outfits as well
There are scorpions on the other outfit from what my blind ass can see which they mean evil/destruction/death
So I personally think that his outfit meaning could be Sanzuās ideal of himself (aka how he sees himself)
That he was rebirthed that day when he got his scars and disowned his family, that he was reborned as judgement and punishment itself if he gets to decide if you deserve to breathe or not. The scorpion also could be Wakuiās way of giving his personality red flag, as destructive and evil.
The punishment part is somewhat pushed by the katana since he uses it to kill those of traitors and such.

Since Sanzu showed and used his katana I've seen several people pointing out his grip and fencing technique, because according to the Character Book, that's his special ability. Especially people doubting if he is really good at it or not.
On several occasions we've seen Sanzu using his katana single-handedly, and even using it to stab Takemichi. Also relaxing the grip of his non-dominant hand when finishing a cut.
I think these two examples are the best that can be used to point out this "mistake". When Sanzu killed MutÅ, he completely relaxed his left hand, actually creating a visible gap between his palm and the hilt of the weapon. In the next one, use the katana to stab instead of slash.

This is more of an opinion as to why Sanzu has used his weapon like this when it has been specifically stated that this is his ability. Also, I wanted to search just for fun and share it! :')
Now we need to know some basic things about this class of weapon
The blade of katanas is designed to slash, not stab, especially from a position above the enemy. Historically it has been done this way to make it easier for the samurai to slash their enemies on horseback.
The katana, in principle, is made to be held by two hands. Dominant hand on top. Sanzu is right-handed, so his right hand is always on top.
If you are on land, and not on horseback, one leg should be put forward to. The latter increases the range of the edge and decreases the samurai's hesitation.
The katana must be raised above the samurai's head and then lowered at a 45° angle to the ground to slash the enemy in two.
Remember this? Yeah, Sanzu was about to decapitate Takemichi

Going back to before. Yes, we've seen Sanzu perform all these steps perfectly

As I've said, the katana is designed to be held with both hands. Hence, its cut is so strong and effective. However, can it be used with one hand?
Here we don't enter something professional, but rather physical, due to the context of the story.
By context I mean that there is no rules in street fighting, unlike in martial arts classes. maybe ethical lmao. That is why some martial arts fail when it comes to being executed in a street fight, where there are no rules and no one is going to give up just by being held fifteen seconds on the ground. There are stress factors that influence all your movements, but I'll talk about that later based on my own experience
Using heavy weapons with one hand can lead to wrist fractures and injuries in general. However, the katana is a light enough weapon that it won't hurt you if your grip is strong enough.
We've seen that sanzu's one-handed grip is so strong that even being run over by a motorcycle doesn't let go of the katana ā ļø

However, making many movements in a row while holding it with one hand is dangerous. I don't remember if we've seen him using it this particular way.
On the other hand, and to me this is the main reason why Sanzu seems to forget how to use it, is that he gets nervous or/and excited. On most occasions in which he has been seen making "mistakes" he has been seen nervous, restless or directly desperate. The train scene
The desperation and excitement in street fights can be seen in erratic or excessively rigid movements. Missing, tripping, throwing wide crochets instead of closed ones. We've seen it many times throughout the manga. My favorite moment, personally, is this:

Takemichi's torso is completely thrown forward. And you can't even see what kind of punch he was going to deliver. A direct? A crochet? It's disastrous. His emotions led him to lose his reason
I laughed so hard when I saw it, because it reminded me of me in class. I had literally that same scene, repeated over and over and the reason was the same: emotions. I mean it when I say that looking at your opponent after he puts his leg up like that is very embarrassing. And it hurts
About the scene of him stabbing Takemichi: if I'm not mistaken, the roof of the train wasn't high enough for him to lift the katana, the space wasn't enough, and I'm completely sure he was too nervous to think.
Sometimes I think we don't take into account that Sanzu is a young boy who has been let down that he loses his mind sometimes, do you remember when he tackled the Yotsuya Gang alone? Just because they called Toman "lame", and he had just joined the gang. Even MutÅ was surprised
What about the moments when he isn't emotionally overwhelmed?
Street fighting is completely free of rules except perhaps for ethical reasons. Sanzu can use the katana however he wants, just following some steps, as long as he doesn't get hurt, that's what makes him good. That's body and weapon control. He has enough physical strength to use the katana with one hand, his movements are very graceful.

I'll say it again. This is not from a professional point of view in a professional context, but considering the context of a street fight between gangs
Remember he's not in a dojo, nor in a battle. He's not a samurai with a code to follow. Street fights implie no general rules except ethical, but it depends on who, where and why + cultural reasons
Weapons in street fights = use them however you want but don't hurt yourself.
The aim is trying to survive. If it works to win, then it's fine. Most important above all: this man has no morals at all
From my personal experience, yeah, it's true that when you start using a weapon you are involved in doing it well, but you end up losing control with each step that the fight advances. It's very difficult to stay calm and execute everything perfectly, whether it is even simple things like punches.
Or at least for me it is and for the people I have fought in martial arts as well. Regardless of age and gender, although I have fought mostly men when it comes to weapons, we all end up hitting erratically and losing our minds for moments. And that doesn't mean we're bad at our skills. At the contrary, that's what makes us humans
Now, on the other hand. Is Wakui wanting to tell us something about Sanzu by this "mistakes"? Something about his personality?
I personally find it quite strange that he almost let go of one of his hands when killing MutÅ. If there really is an underlying reason for his character development represented in the way he uses his katana, would that mean he hesitated?
Who knows
It would be really interesting if so <3

so maybe itās not a coincidence that both sanzu and takemitchi are cancersĀ
Something popped in my head suddenly Another Time Leap?? Maybe?
Yk Takemichyā s first time leap, through Naoto, was 12 years in the past and then the second time leap, through Mikey, was 10 years in the past right? So if thereās a third time leap and we follow this pattern, it should be 8 years in the past.Ā
If Takemichy leaps back 8 years right now that is from 2008, he will go back to the year 2000. This is when theĀ āscar incidentā happened. Thatās probably where the root cause of MikeyĀ ās issues lies (as well Sanzuā s)
So what if Sanzu becomes his trigger and sends him back to 2000. I mean this relies on the assumption that Sanzu is trying to help Mikey, which I think he is just in his own way,Ā maybe for him an evil Mikey is better than a dead Mikey. So the common strong motivation to change the past is there.
Sanzu is also probably the only person who could provide him with the information about what exactly Takemichy needs to stop from happening, like Naoto was doing in the earlier leaps. Sanzu also knows how time leaping works (whether he is the leaper, trigger or simply knows the other leaper) so he could come with the idea himself (coz Takemichy isnāt really good with plans lol) ones he is convinced Takemichy wants to help Mikey. Maybe Takemichy tells him what happened with Mikey in the Bonten timeline where Sanzu stayed at Mikeyās side or maybe Mikey dies somehow and that makes them call a truce.
All Takemichy needs to do is convince Sanzu that they both should be on the same side and shake hands (literally).Ā Ā

Since Haruchiyo basically said there's another time leaper, who do you think it is? Do you still believe its Takemichi's other self?
Yeah, I still think Future Takemichi is the second time leaper. It still makes the most sense.Ā
When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras. Simplest answer is usually the correct one. Everybody else would require so much exposition in the narrative to explain why theyāre the second time leaper and why they even care enough to mess around with the timeline.Ā
Meanwhile, there have been clues left throughout the entire manga so far for Takemichi to be the second time leaper. Since chapter 8.
Also, I read Sekisei Inko over the weekend and yeah, it just makes me more sure that Takemichi is the second time leaper, and Mikey isnāt Manjiro, andĀ āMikeyā isnāt Mikey. Iāll briefly explain at the end under the read more cut for those who want to avoid spoilers.
As for how Haruchiyo knows about time leapingĀ
(I actually did form an opinion, against my will *sigh*) I think either:
a.)Ā doesnāt work anymore lol
b.)Ā āMikeyā showed up shortly after Takemitchy went back to the future, and took over, and he told Sanzu that heāsĀ a time leaper, but heās lying. Because he IS a different person than Mikey, and Sanzu probably would have noticed that something is off with his friend. Thatās why Sanzu saysĀ āallyā and notĀ āfriendā. Because Mikey ā Ā āMikeyā. He isnātĀ Sanzuās childhood friend, heās someone different.Ā
Maybe heās even the one who cut his face open when they were kids, to help him, and thatās why Sanzu is loyal to him. Itās also a great reason Sanzu would believe him, heād seen him before when they were younger.Ā
c.) Hanma told Sanzu that heāsĀ a time leaper, to get him to do something for him. Sanzu wants to protect Mikey, and if Hanma will help him with that then of course heāll believe him. But Hanma is also lying.Ā
I think could beĀ Enma/Yama, which would also make him Jizo Bosatsu, which would make him a helpfulĀ figure.Ā The tattoos on his hands connect him to Enma, and Senju and Sanzu connect him to Jizo Bosatsu. Not someone out to ruin things.Ā
Because he is also an incarnation of the god of help, it is said that he can come and go freely between heaven and hell. [wikipedia page on Enma, second paragraph]
So then heās not a time leaper, he can freely go between heaven and hell, letās call that the past and future. Because time leaping is purgatory for Takemitchy, who is DEAD, and has been the entire story.
I think itās likely that Hanma lied to Sanzu so that Sanzu would believe Takemitchy and could become a trigger for him. Naoto believed, Mikey believed, now Sanzu believes. They only became triggers after they believed and had the desireĀ to change things.
So what if Hanma put Sanzu up to driving the train (I still donāt think the train is any kind of threat, guys. Iām telling you, you canāt just hijack a train that easily) so that heād be alone and Takemitchy could find him? It makes no sense if Sanzu told NOBODY about his plan, because MIkey is still on the battlefield and Mikey would be hurt if he actually derailed the train. I still say it was a fake vision.
But if HanmaĀ told him to do it and that heād get Mikey to safety? Then I could see that making some sort of sense for Sanzu to do.
When you hear hoofbeats think horses, not zebras. Simplest answer is usually the right one. Second time leaper? Takemichi. All of the foreshadowing points to him being the second time leaper.Ā
His body is empty in the future when he leaps, because he gets dragged along with TakemitchyĀ
The only person heās paralleled with is himself
Because heās getting revenge against himself, his past self that gave up and ran away, he says it in the text
Itās literally the reason he went back to the past in the first place
Chifuyu says that if he doesnāt change things, then nothing will actually change, because Takemitchy, and therefore Takemichi, who is and is not the same person, is the only person who can
Past Takemichi is messing things up, by trying to do the right thing, because he knows how the future goes, because he heard it from Takemitchy when he was in his body
But youāre not supposed to know what happens in the future, nobody is, and the mere act of knowing your own future changes the actions you normally would have taken
āFuture visionsā make no sense, but they do if theyāre Takemichiās past that heās showing to Takemitchy to send him a message, the train vision and Kisaki proposal vision being differentĀ just cements that for me even more
So yeah, either Hanma is Enma and he told him orĀ āMikeyā lied to him about being a time leaper, and Sanzu trusted him, because Mikey is his friend. And he recognizes āMikeyā from the brief glimpses he saw of him in their childhoods.
I still just cannot wrap my head around the fact that Hanma has a birthday if heās Yama/Enma/Jizo Bosatsu...
But yeah, about Sekisei Inko I have part of a post typed up about it that goes into more detail, but have some vague, mildĀ *SPOILERS*Ā
.
.
.
.
.
.
I donāt think Wakui is copy pasting his own work, but he plays with the idea of identity and the role of memories in making up that identity. Also is your past self the same as your current self.
Memory says this to Nana, the protagonist, who has lost his memories of who he was before:
Nana refers to the version of himself that existed before he lost his memories as a completely different person.
And Nana is scared that he wonāt be himselfĀ anymore if he regains those memories of another person he used to be. Heās afraid the current him wonāt exist anymore, because heās already started developing his own personality, separate from the person he used to be. They are no longer the same.
Past Nana and Present Nana are TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE, because they donāt have the same memories.Ā
Is that not what Iāve been saying for months now about Tokyo Revengers? That Takemitchy and Takemichi are TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE? Because they live different lives.
Takemitchy doesnātĀ gain any of Takemichiās memories when he goes back into the future.Ā He canāt, because heās not him.
Thereās a lot more than that, but I donāt want to spoil the whole thing here, I already have a post mostly written about it.
Considering Sekisei Inko was basically what I theorised for Tokyo Revengers, and I didnāt read it until a few days ago? Iām pretty confident Iām picking up on what Wakuiās been putting down.Ā Past Takemichi being the second time leaper is exactly the kind of thing Wakui would do. Same thing with Mikey not being the original Manjiro.
And again I will say: neither Takemitchy, nor Mikey, have all of their memories, which is the thing Sekisei Inko is about.Ā Because Takemitchy isnāt a āreal personā anymore, and Mikey isnāt a āreal personā either.
And again: NO, I am not talking about any sort of specific psychological disorder, nor trying to diagnose anybody with anything, because it doesnāt matter, itās fiction.

maybe Sanzu has been 100% useless to trigger the dark impulses in Bonten, probably because mikey was totally apathetic towards everyone and everything. It's literally because of Takemichi who decided '"nope i going to change the past, because i want you to be happy" that they were triggered at the end XD
Oh that could be a good point, like since he's no longer around his friends he no longer cares enough about anything for the dark impulses to be triggered. Sanzu would probably get super frustrated though, constantly trying to trigger them and failing since he can't get Mikey to care enough about anything. Can you imagine how disappointed he would've been when one of Mikey's friends finally show up only for Sanzu to be told to leave.

āBut you donāt understand a thing! You donāt understand the huge fate[karma] Mikey had to shoulder! Ever since he was a kid, it was fated for him to have no other path to follow, only the path of violence!"Ā
I thought the mood on this was interesting, in terms of Sanzuās character.
Disambiguation notes:
- The word ę„ alludes primarily to karma, in a buddhist type of sense. It can also be translated asĀ ādestinyā. But since karma and destiny are slightly different in terms that one is kind of entered/earned by the person and the other is thrust onto the person, Iād like to wait and see where he goes with it.
- Either way, the sound of it is that Mikey is burdened with a heavy weight. Not aĀ āhe has a great destiny to achieveā type of thing, butĀ āheās handling something that heavy and hugeā kind of thing.Ā
To me, this makes Sanzu sound like he earnestly believes himself Mikeyās protector, the person who sees and sympathizes with what fate has had in store for him. It makes sense that heās angry that Takemichi, despite having his time-leaping capacities, comes to add confusion or pain onto Mikey. Itās very interesting!!

recently I learned about this experiment
a mirror is placed in an aquarium with a single fish, and the fish, thinking that its reflection is an enemy, gets constantly agitated over it.
if you then place the second mirror, the fish will think that the second reflection (looking like another fish swimming towards the enemy) is an ally, and will start actively fighting the evil reflection, because now a buddy got its back.
however, if you rearrange the second mirror so that the ally-fish will look like it sort of lags behind, the fish will feel betrayed and never approach neither anymore.
now imagine Sanzu pulling this on Izanaās fish
caught bullying the fish by Kakucho who just came by to feed the miserable little creature

Manga used to draw parallels: -Ā» Sekisei Inko
Manga Synopsis: A young man, Kaneda, suffers from trauma induced amnesia after discovering the body of his colleague and friend, Hiwako Shima. After being taken out of the hospital by a mysterious benefactor, he returns to school and tries to piece together his memories of the incident.
To make matters more confusing, his buried memories manifested in the form of a surreal being whose head is shaped like a crescent moon. Together, they set out to solve the mystery of Hiwako's murder.
_______
I'm comparing Tokyo Revengers and Sekisei Inko because it seems there might be some parallels between them and it might explain some unanswered questions. Also, both Tokyo Revengers and Sekisei Inko are works that deal with psychological topics/themes.
Let's get into it! ~
Remembering what happened in chapter 241, we saw how Mikey ripped Sanzu's mouth open and how he was shown to be overcome by his dark impulses immediately after.
Now, as we still don't know why Mikey did that to Sanzu and as we still don't know if Sanzu did or said something to trigger Mikey's behavior, I'll only be able to explain what "I think" happened on Mikey's side.
It might be possible that what he did to Sanzu caused Mikey great trauma and he tried to push the memory of doing it away immediately. This resulted in his dark impulse to develop and to come to surface for the first time.
Mikey tried to live on like that and everytime something bad happened and his impulse tried to take over again, he had Shinichiro and Emma to calm him down. After Shinichiro died, Mikey forgave Baji and Kazutora but he might've blamed himself for what happened, thinking he caused this. This is the second time his "dark impulse" got fed with new trauma. Mikey always put on a strong demeanor and tried to hide away his hurt from the people around him, even those he was close to. He probably didn't want to bother them and thought he could deal with it alone if only he pushed it away, just like always. However, his dark impulse got fed yet again.
Then, in the Valhalla Arc, Baji died and Mikey's impulse tried to take over once again only for him to be brought back to earth by Takemichi who had stopped him with a heartfelt speech and the good luck charm of Baji. But Mikey's dark impulse got fed yet again, more and more negative memories he wanted to forget immediately. So at the end of the day, he put on a strong demeanor once again and tried to push it away.
The next time Mikey lost someone important to him was in the Tenjiku Arc. He in fact even lost two people in one day, only hours apart. His heart was already shattered when Emma passed away and I'm sure it got completely crushed when he lost Izana, whom he wanted to save (and failed to do so). Another memory he tried to push away, another time he put on a strong demeanor.
The breaking point of Mikey was Draken's death, the death of his heart and soul. It was too much for Mikey to handle and we got to see his dark impulse in action again. Also probably worse and stronger than it has ever been before.
Remember when Mikey said that once he loses himself, he would see "THAT" in front of him?

That makes me think of this panel:

Could this be "THAT"? Are Mikey's dark impulses perhaps his (negative) past memories, manifested into the form of a "surreal" being? His memories might somehow take complete control of him from the inside and he goes numb, unstoppable even.
Remember when Mikey told Takemichi that sometimes, he doesn't understand why his brother isn't there anymore and then he doesn't remember anything that's happening after? It's because in that moment, those manifested past memories he tried to push away take control and Mikey goes into a state of some kind of "slumber" (I can't really explain it that well but I hope some of you will get where I'm going with this).
This also reminds me of what Draken said when Mikey fought Toman to make them hate him. He said that Mikey took all the negativity upon himself. Mikey didn't want them to be near him anymore to protect them, thinking he is bad for them, a danger even. All of this only added fuel to the fire.
_______
Now, why do I think everything started with Sanzu? It's because of this:

Sanzu's clothing has this shape of a moon (perhaps the buried memories manifested into a crescent shaped moon? - parallel to Sekisei Inko)
So, what does have to happen for Mikey to be saved? What does have to happen for Mikey to regain his happiness, to be freed of this disaster of a life?
Sanzu said that Mikey's destiny has been sealed since he was a little kid, that he is destined to walk the path of carnage. But could it be that it was Sanzu who 'sealed' Mikey's fate?
The moon on Sanzu's clothes could be a hint that in oder to regain his memories and in order to get a hold of himself, either Mikey has to forgive himself for scarring Sanzu or Sanzu has to forgive Mikey (even though I'm leaning towards choice number one).
Once Mikey forgives himself, It might look similar to this:

He might realize that everything that happened is a part of him and that he actively needs to work with it in order to gain control.
His "dark impulse" might then show itself to Mikey like this:

Now, this just makes me question one more thing which might involve the second time leaper.

Isn't it weird how crazily similar these two are?
So what if Hanma is the second (or the first) time leaper and is actually there to judge the outcome or something? Hanma's hands "sin and punishment" definitely have to have a deeper meaning.
What if Takemichi is the sinner who's trying to save Mikey, while Mikey receives the end of the punishment?
(Just a stupid thought of mine, please don't mind me lol)
On a serious note though, could it be that Hanma is the one meddling with Mikey's and Takemichi's memories (as both have some gaps in their memories/ don't remember some things at all)? And Sanzu is the 'key' (like Takemichi once said back then) to gain it back? Or is it perhaps Hanma who is the key to it all? Will they gain their memories back, once they've finished their respective missions? (Takemichi not running away anymore, not leaving his friends behind and Mikey accepting himself and his doings?)
_______
Could it also possibly be that Takemichi and Mikey might've known each other since their childhood days? Did Sanzu perhaps try to separate them/ to prevent them from meeting so that he can keep Mikey on the "path of carnage"?
Might this be the reason why Takemichi was the chosen one to be the leaper, to save Mikey? Because he's Mikey's counterpart to finally complete the circle, to regain complete control over their consciousness?
_______
I wanted to say that I could also use some of these panels on Takemichi. I might or might not make a new theory about that soon.
Isn't it weird that we barely know anything about Mikey's and Takemichi's childhoods? Something definitely doesn't add up and I would love to have some answers.
Please take this theory with a big grain of salt, it's just for fun - using my brain for some unnecessary theories lmao
My patience ran out somewhere in between and it shows š©

Okay, this was so desperate.
He is surely bleeding inside, and yet he has the determination to stand up only for his ideals and for what he thinks he follows. How screwed up is Sanzu? Or is there really something too big that we ignore?
Anyways, these kinds of scenes make me think that his character is too sad, that he has been alone most of his life. Even if he had a family, he occasionally felt bad and ended up leaving them i mean, it's subtly implied he did and he left. He didn't seem to be very sociable or interact with many people while he was in the Toman. Even if he had at least one friend, he killed him. Does Mikey even care about him?
It's becoming more and more clear to me that Sanzu is not going to have a happy ending and I just want to hug him and tell him that everything is fine :(
