You have to give Fate Nero credit, if I had jumped down into the collesseum's sands wearing nothing but a white high-legged leotard and beat a lion that had been specially bred and trained to kill humans to death with my bare hands, and the audience's verdict was that it was a lame attention-grabbing stunt because the lion was a normal sized mundane lion instead of an oxcart-sized divine monstrosity like in their favorite grecian hero plays, I'd turn into a beast and devour Rome on the spot

The Lion Incident is funny because she does straight up say that she killed the lion with her bare hands, but the second some pressure is put on the story she folds and backpedals and says that she didn't kill it, she just choked it until it passed out.

Which, let's be fully honest here, is still WILD work for a 4'9" 100-something pound woman with minimal martial ability (or I guess she was always a Super Cool Swordmaster that could keep up with Servants according to Septem, but the Lion Strangling Incident was before that so let's just count out Septem for a bit and stick with the original conceit of 'she doesn't know shit about fighting').

She seems too proud of actually doing it to be just lying about it, so let's assume that she actually strangled the lion or thought she did.

Historically, the lion anecdote is from Suetonius (as in One of Nero's Biggest Haters), where he notes that the lion was specifically trained for Nero to beat. Implying that Nero didn't wrestle a (quote-unquote) regular-degular coliseum lion that venators fought for sport or that slaughtered prisoners, but basically a lion that was trained to lose. Meaning that the lion-match was, in Fate, potentially rigged.

So, we're sitting at 3 options here.

She actually full on strangled a lion until it passed out, and the citizens genuinely didn't give a shit because she didn't strangle the lion in a cool enough way.

The Lion Strangling was rigged in her favor, and literally everybody knew but her.

She did actually full-on strangle a lion but everyone ASSUMED it was just a rigged publicity stunt so nobody took it seriously.

Day 958: Anytime I think of how Siegfried and Sieg interact with water, it's almost always like the one particular comment I remember about two different dog breeds going into a pool. The husky being scared and uncertain, and the terrier (?) going "DEATH TO POSEIDON!".

you could probably find a theme there if you really wanted to, but the personality, colors, design, etc are generally all over the place

but when you compile beethoven designs together they look like

it's insane how consistently Beethoven these are, like you could show these to your grandma and she'd have no choice but to reluctantly admit that these anime boys and girls are, in fact, all renowned German composer Ludwig Van Beethoven (1770-1827)

I guess he just cooked that hard with his own character design
