Consider this: Charles treating falling in love with Edwin like an adventure.

Charles purposefully watching Edwin in his normal day-to-day so he can find the moments where he feels something more, taking Edwin on walks so they can talk about their feelings and hopes and expectations, trying to be closer physically as well as emotionally.

Charles being giddy and excited and overjoyed when he looks at Edwin one day and feels his heart seizing up, and having to tell Edwin about it immediately, because isn't this great? He couldn't say he was in love with Edwin back on the stairway to hell, but he's getting closer every day.

Charles wanting to fall in love with Edwin with the earnest intensity of someone who has loved Edwin in every other way for three decades.

And Edwin, who considered his feelings for Charles an affliction he should apologise for, watching this ray of human sunshine being absolutely overjoyed by slowly reciprocating his feelings and the opportunity to love him back.

It's actually really frightening to see officially sanctioned genocide denial rise up in Western countries in real time. Like, I remember 20 years ago hearing about how it was illegal in Turkey to point out that the Armenian Genocide happened, and how I thought that that was fucking evil and oppressive. Now here we are, with a campaign in Gaza that experts have called 'a textbook case of genocide', for which the UN Human Rights counsel has determined there are "reasonable grounds" to call it genocide, and the US Congress is trying to make it illegal to criticize Israel. We have Hollywood agencies refusing to represent anyone who points out that a genocide is currently taking place. And it's just the same shit from a fresh asshole as we got from the Turkish government over what happened in Armenia in the 1920s, like "Oh yes, there were killings, but...calling it genocide? Ohhhh, you must be very hateful to our poor little nation to think that our people are capable of that 😢 😭!" Fuck off.

i love when artists depict kayne as someone, like. in an ill-fitting suit with a smile just a bit too wide and frenzied eyes like shattered glass distilled in time seconds after it breaks. like, really scrungly, but not the same kind of scrungle as people often draw arthur. its an uncanny valley sort of look, a visual representation of that delightfully unsettling laugh. an amalgamation of a human face and body derived from intentions and desires of someone not human in the slightest. an "i carved my bloody way through every other iteration of myself and struck them down and not even seeing myself die over and over could deter me from my end goal" look.

he terrifies me. i love him deeply. i want to drop him off the side of a mountain ❤️

I love how John picked up swearing from Arthur. It’s a part of the Malevolent canon that a fragment of The King in Yellow, Hastur, Him Who Is Not to be Named yells “JESUS FUCKING CHRIST” whenever he’s scared or angry or mildly frustrated or feeling really anything other than complete apathy because one (1) atheist is really dedicated to taking the lords name in vain as much as possible

yes yes we're all going crazy about how Yorick said "Dies Irae" which means day of wrath BUT! Let me remind you. The first four notes of the MUSICAL PIECE the DIES IRAE has been used for YEARS now in musical pieces to signify death or character(s) dying. If you heard it you'd recognize it, it's used in sooo many movie scores. So yeah. Day of Wrath but also THE musical signifier for death. No one does it like the dies irae does
