As someone who likes the band but does not participate in the fandom and actively avoids it most of the time, I have to say that none of you should be surprised. Band fandoms are always, ALWAYS the worst kind. Especially bands made up of conventionally attractive guys! If fandoms had tiers than literally like every single band fandom would be F-tier. Really this is not even CLOSE to a shock.

I really like this fandom, but, if I have to say something bad of it, it would be the part of the fandom that shares photos of their personal/private life. It sometimes gets a little bit creepy and as weird as it sounds, it makes me see Hatari not like the mysterious and serious character they interpret. Which is a little sad

Every time I come to see a confession it is always negative, like, not even the kpop fandom is as toxic as some of ya are. You can ask them to come forward without bringing in their family members, I stg

You can stan Hatari without bringing some of their problematic friends or family members into the mix, and certainly without digging heavily into their private lives as some have, but as their fan base grows and becomes even more femalecentric, they are going to have to answer as to how and why they have someone accused of rape on their team, someone who is so close to them, he has even been called a fourth member of the band. 2/2
(This confession seems to be missing part 1/2)

Industrial anon here, I was not talking about serious criticism like abuse allegations and stuff like that, I 100% agree that being crytical of that (or all the media you consume for that matter) but about small cherry picking on stupid jokes or provocations that although in poor taste, just seem petty compared to more serious stuff.

y'all seem to have a lot of opinions whether they're good or bad or whatever about the band, why don't u start a chat about this like mature people instead of hiding behind confessions - I'm just saying, if u feel this pressed u obviously need to talk it out - do so in a more productive manner, that's all.

You can't cherry pick what about this band is a parody and what's not. Was them holding up Palestine banners a parody? The rainbow wings and gig at Pride? The protest at Austurvöllur? Was that all just a parody too? You're all giving this band the possibility to celebrate themselves as activists without them actually having to do anything for it. You can't just excuse their bad behaviour because they have a funny fictional soda brand and IMN running after them.

I love how during esc people were like "let's just stan Hatari's music and talent and not dig in their private lives" and now the same people are literally doing that.

y'all are so quick to write off any legitimate criticism of your faves as "discourse". i still love hatari's music, but i haven't forgotten that they're human beings and that they're capable of fucking up. which they have. and like anyone with a platform they deserve to be held accountable for their fuckups. critical consumption of media is a GOOD THING

@industrial anon: yeah no. I've been into industrial since my early teens and I can guarantee you, the act has nothing to do with it. Industrial fans are highly tolerable of a lot of bullshit when it comes to ~art~, but being a piece of shit IRL just doesn't fly. Many industrial acts are hated across the scene for being absolute fuckwits behind the scenes on festivals and whatnot.

Anyway here's some positivity for once: in the context of neurodiversity, Klemens really is an inspiration and role model to me, what with him recently revealing his ADHD and all (I'm autistic). It's all well and good being introduced to a role model and being told they're ND right away (see: Greta Thunberg) but it just hits different when you've been enjoying a content creator for months and then learn they're ND just like me, you know?

People have been picking apart Klemens interview and all it tells me is that they don’t know any art students and aren’t familiar with a lot of very commonly used phrases. Or they’re just desperately trying to find something wrong with it because he is not as single as they would like him to be...

For all the people asking that hatari make comment about all the “problematic” stuff: has anyone actually made a request to them for comment? Like other than just posting all over tumblr and assuming they have read it? Like actually gotten in touch via official channels and asked for comment

I find it strange Hatari haven't commented on the current situation in the US... (Or they have and I totally missed it)

Tbh I find it unbelievably funny how serious some of you take Hatari. I don't mean to offend anyone, if the band is important to you/you feel represented, that's great. But they're a parody, they're a performance art act, they actively make controversial ('we told you so') and contradictory statements. Y'all need to chill and enjoy their music. and stop the insta stalking.
