I just wanted to draw a chibi Ardyn eating strawberry cake with a strawberry ice cream paired next to it. Sometimes his hair reminds me of strawberries; also he deserves some sweetness; actually all the sweetness. I needed some cuteness to kill the stress.

Still. If and when Cor and Ardyn manage to get Nyx into 'appropriate' clothing and have him manifest the full might of his status as Summer Fae (Nyx calls it 'the glowy thing' they're entirely happy with just how /stunning/ their lover looks. (Oh boy, now mental image of all THREE of them in full-on fae gear/aura etc, not even /trying/ to pretend that they're human~)

Well, now you’ve done it.

‘Is this really necessary?’ Nyx asks as Cor does something complicated to his hair. He had tried twice to glance at his reflection already only to get swatted for his trouble, so now he just tried to get a glimpse at what Ardyn was doing. 

‘I admit that I might be out of touch with the current fashions in the courts–’ 

‘Or any fashion at all’ Cor mutters, making Nyx try and fail to supress a snort and Ardyn just roll his eyes at both of them.

‘As if you can talk, love.’ Ardyn retorted before bringing his attention back to something that was just out of Nyx’s sight. ‘But it is necessary, Nyx, trust us on this.’

‘It just seems a bit m–’

‘Ardyn, where did you get that?’ It was Cor’s slight note of awe in his voice that made Nyx twist around to have a look. Not caring if he had to do whatever it was he was supposed to with his hair a mess. 

‘What are you… oh.’ It was a shawl, if one could call something that looked to be made of woven sunlight a shawl. He extended a hand to touch it. It was warm, softer than even what he was wearing, and seemed to ripple, subtly changing in color and intensity. 

‘Why, I made it, of course.’ Ardyn said, sounding entirely too smug, but Nyx was too amazed still to call him out on it. ‘Sun thread, dear, it’s not that complicated.’

Cor clears his throat before tugging Nyx towards the back door as Ardyn wrapped the shining marvel around his shoulders. ‘Outside, you can’t be late.’ If his voice sounded a little tight, neither of them were going to say anything about it. 

Nyx took a deep breath, suddenly more nervous as he watched as dawn started to break. Cor gave him a small smile and a small push. ‘Go on, you did it once already, and we didn’t get to see it. You just have to complete it.’

They stood side by side watched as the first rays of the sun shone over their lover. He looked magnificent, from the flowers in his hair to the carefully embroidered silk Ardyn had procured through mysterious means. And, to Cor’s amazement, not even the woven sun-thread could outshine his own radiance. If he were a more sensitive man he would be crying at the beauty of the moment. 

 ‘How did you do it?’ He asks Ardyn quietly once he’s sure he has control of his voice, not taking his eyes of Nyx for a moment. 

‘I told you it wasn’t hard’ And he sounded softer, even if there was an undertone of satisfaction in his voice. ‘It’s the required mindset that makes it slightly difficult to achieve.’

Cor did not snort, that would’ve broken the moment, but it was a near thing. Only Ardyn would call true bliss ‘slightly difficult’. He wondered if he should tell Nyx he now owned the rarest, most coveted material in all the realms. The look on his face alone would be worth it.

Yeah, technically speaking alchemists were the precursors to chemists, but have you ever seen a hairdresser mix hair coloring together? Turn the darkest hair to gold? Completely change someone’s appearance in less than an hour?

I dunno what sort of ethereal creature hairdressers are, but they’re definitely one of them and they’ve lowkey mastered the magic aspect of alchemy that we thought we lost long ago. Fear for your lives if they ever decide to turn on us mere mortals. With their proficiency in sharp objects and all the leftover hair they’ve collected over the years (you can work some hella magic with a lock of hair, and we give ours to them *freely* from a young age), we’d lose in a day. No question about it.
