the general case of 'just tell us the thing your ex did'
i'm not sold on that being a cultural ill, more so just something that annoys you.

lubricating the days like an ancient greek
I can't tell if I'm going through olive oil way faster than I used to or if the days are just slipping away from me

casey handmer (a solar->methane startup guy) wrote a blog post about similar things, and seems to come up with the same answer, that if your usecase is valuable enough you should add a bunch of batteries and overbuild the solar.
actually intermittent loads have to be cheap to be worth it
simultaneously running quantum chemistry simulations, the laundry machine, and the dishwasher has me thinking of the computer as an appliance

I guess you could put them up around the first 3 floors or so, but it'll look kind of weird.
I gotta say, 'featureless glass slab rising out of a nest of filigree' would kindof slap as an aesthetic
Reading Scott Alexander's recent piece on Bauhaus and:
Preeminent among these was Bauhaus, founded by Walter Gropius in Germany in 1919. Their big idea was “starting from zero” - since all previous art had been contaminated by capitalism, we needed a hard reset where people started by (eg) contemplating what color and shape really were, then gradually building a new socialist art from the ground up.
Such rationalist vibes from this.

Probably wouldn't kill you, there are (mostly) cortexless mice running around basically fine.
I wanna use one of those magnet helmets to temporarily suppress all activity in my cerebral cortex so I can experience reality as a wild creature, unencumbered by human nature

I like the interpretation that Consort to the Commissioner of Public Lands is an elected position
California has way too many ballot initiatives but it makes voting way more fun than trying to decide who should be fucking Commissioner of Public Lands like I'm about to not do here in Washington

Mother Mary's Extra Virgin Milf Oil™
@eightyonekilograms: in high school I had a summer job checking boats for milfoil –
me, startling visibly: milf oil?
81k: it's an invasive aquatic weed that's in some lakes in New Hampshire. my job was to check the propellers and bilge water of every boat that came into an uninfected lake
81k, in a heavier tone: and it's spelled pretty much how you think it is.

What if the solution is the same as peanut allergies, and we should be body-shaming babies on tiktok as soon as they reach four months old
an underrated possibility that could make a lot of people mad is that yes, smartphones are harming people, but also this is just a transitional phase and in a few decades society will have adapted and we'll have a much healthier relationship to them, so it's just a question of how quickly we can adapt/how to mitigate the current damage
*brightly* if social media drives teen suicide then evolution will take care of the problem for us! just like it did with peanut allergies!

People would draw actual magic runes as the kennet version of the cool S
I imagine the kenneters & all of the aware about in town post-cannon sort of alter the innocent culture. Kids walk around with chalk because ??? other's do it in their grade & the ones who do it seem to be weirdly connected? Other bullshit like that

I also had to check if it was the right Kay Tye, but I vaguely know her whole deal in neuro, and I gotta say that this sort of take is extremely consistent with my impression of her, and is very much not parody
