“Ah, it wouldn’t be much~ You’d just look like the most PUNKEST guy ever!!! Imagine! Clothes... accessories... all stitched together! Maybe some zippers thrown in for a bit of extra pizzazz!”
Oooh... she got quite the idea.
“Then!! You could make a pillow that looked like a disembodied zombie head!!! Imagine how freaky-cool that would be!!!”
Immediately, she sticks her arms out like an undead would. “Shiiiirts... must.. make... shiiiirts! Bahaha!”
“Golly, I can’t wait to see shtuff like that! Millions could be made from that style, I tell ya!”
hattkidd·:
“Hmm… I’d say just.. practice sewing two pieces of cloth together. Look up what sewing method seems good enough for you, and just… practice from that! Once you have the hang of sewing pieces together, then I recommend trying a sewing pattern!”
Then… a giggle.
“Who knows! Sew enough pieces of cloth together, then you could probably fill it and make a big Frankenstein beanbag!”
“Cloth should be easy enough to come by!” Sometimes his Ma would send him out on errands - usually buying groceries for her or something like that but every so often, she sent him off to this little fabric shop in the underground mall. Perhaps they would also have cloth…?
Maybe he should urge his Ma to send him there, really soon!
“That’d be cool, wouldn’t it…?” He chuckled at the thought of wearing shirts with Frankenstein stitches running across them, probably frightening his classmates in the process. “I bet it’d look really badass too!”

“Not just done with school! No school, because it’s kinda hard to go to one when you’re traveling to space!”
After Jeff asks about the supercomputer, HK thinks... in a pose oddly similar to a certain thinking emoji.
“Well... basically, it told me that I’m [insert totally legit alien name here] and it told me about how our bodies work! Did you know we have two hearts?! Wait, that’s a different time-related race.. do I have two hearts..? Uh...”
Aw darn. Guess it pays to take refresher lessons, huh? Oh well. Hat Kid didn’t really care much, she just know’s that she’s herself, and that’s what’s important!
Jeff couldn’t help a chuckle at Hat Kid’s antics. She was a bundle of boundless energy, that was for sure. It was puzzling how she didn’t know anything about her species, though…
“Well, you look quite similar to a human, apart from the clothes, I guess. And if you’re already done with school…
What kind of information did your computer give you?”
His interest can’t help but be piqued when technology is mentioned. He’d like to see what it was made of, and if he could take it apart. Probably not, but it was worth a shot if he got to see it.

hattkidd·:
“Aw man, bean bag chairs! Those are the best!”
An over-exuberant feeling emits from HK, as she spins at speeds that make her look like an oversized beyblade.
…once she slows down, however…
“They’re so awesome, but I always get stuck in them! Like, it feels like I’m being eaten by a giant beany amoeba!”
She then looks at her itty-bitty hands, focusing on her fingers… then showing them to Ryuji.
“After a bit, you’ll start to prick your hands les and less when you sew and stuff! Took me a bit, so you can still see teenie prick-marks on my fingers! Hurts a bit, but not that much if you’re careful!”
“Right…?!”
He couldn’t help the enthusiasm in his voice as someone was actually agreeing with him for a change…!
How awesome was HK…?!
“I think so too! People always tell me that it’d take up too much space or be too uncomfortable but I don’t care!”
He shakes his head vigorously, smiling at the thought of one day owning his one chair. His fantasies are quickly interrupted though as HK holds out her hands.
“So, you’re saying that it won’t happen so much with time…? Maybe won’t even faze me at all…?” Well, that didn’t sound so bad. “How do you find a starting point with sewing?”

hattkidd·:
“Naaah! As long as you know how to go through the motions you’re good! Other than that, just follow patterns and instructions!”
Note that the writer has NO idea how knitting works, so this info should be taken with a HUGE grain of salt.
“And thanks! Impressions are something I looove to do! If I could do an impression of a chair, I would!”
A small chuckle, this time. Ryuji’s laughter is a bit contagious, and seeing someone enjoy her humor is pretty radical!
“Oh, Burger chairs are the best! Mine’s big, BEEFY and super squishtastic! It’s actually like sitting on a giant burger! You gotta get one sometime!! Or sit on one. Unless it’s actually a giant burger, then get like… all your friends to help you eat it.”
Mmm… burgers… she’d better not think about them too hard, or there’s gonna be a serious visit from the munchies.
“But don’t you end up pricking your fingers a lot…?” He asked, nervously holding up his hands.
He wasn’t afraid of a few nicks and scratches here and there but he wasn’t sure how well someone with big hands, like his, would fare with sewing.
“An impression of a chair, huh?” He couldn’t help but laugh a little at the thought, wondering what that might be like.
If there was anyone capable of doing such an impression, it would likely be her - she always had been pretty hilarious.
“Do you know what’s one thing I’ve always wanted…?” He couldn’t help but add, an excited glint in his eye. “A beanbag chair! Don’t you think that’d be just so fun…?! Probably really soft too and something you could just sink into after a long day!”
The only problem was that beanbag chairs tended to be a little on the big side, though.

What a relief, at least someone knows what they were doing!
“If you wanna know how I make my clothes, I use a lot of stitching and sewing to assemble my clothes, but I also know how to knit! It makes me feel like a grandma.”
As she says that last bit, she hunches over and uses her umbrella like a cane… doing her best impression of an old lady.
“I also collect things! I have this biiig burger pillow-chair-thing and it’s aaaawesome! Make me hungry every time I see it though.”
“So, tell me more about it…!”
He didn’t know the faintest bit about sewing or making his own clothes - his Ma sometimes stitched up his clothes for him and she’d made him a few little items here and there but she wasn’t an expert or anything.
“Whoa, so you know how to knit too…? That must be pretty tough!” Or at least he’d always thought so. He wasn’t sure if something like knitting would suit his big and calloused hands.
As he watched her impression, he couldn’t help but clutch his belly as he laughed at her amazing impression.
“You did look like an old lady just now…!” He managed in between laughs, his eyes widening at the mention of a burger chair.
“…Dude, that sounds so cool!”

“Naaaah! I don’t know a single thing! Parents are a myth and I haven’t gone to wacky alien school in a bazillion years, so!”
Tadaaaa! She gets up and makes a big pose! She’s standing with one foot atop an imaginary footstool, holding her hat in a hand.
“I am UNEDUCATED! VIVA LA SUMMER VACATION!”
Well. Not ENTIRELY uneducated. She puts her back on her head, straightening it again because she just CANT let it be.
“I’ve learned lots of things on my computer, but none of the information I have really covers my race’s history or biology. Whoops!”
“Wait. So you’re… an alien?”
That was certainly odd, Hat Kid definitely looked human. Maybe she was kidding? It would make sense, but Jeff was willing to risk looking gullible to see if she was really telling the truth. Jeff didn’t have the greatest experiences with aliens.
“Well, I’m not sure about rigging your computer to make pasta, but I’m sure I can invent a pasta maker just fine.
…You, erm, wouldn’t know of an alien named Giygas, would you?”

“Haha! I couldn’t be in a fighting game even if I tried!”
Now that was something to laugh at! Her? In a fighting game? Three hits and she’d be KO’d!
…Wait, why was she here again..? She got so lost in this chat, she forgot what she was doing. Does she even know where she is? Awww maaaan…
She looks around, trying to figure out what the flying peck she was originally doing before turning to Ryuji, and saying the following:
“I… forgot what I was doing before this conversation entirely.. Where are we again..?”
Well. Best to come forward when you blank out on this kinda stuff.
“Well, I guess that evens us out then! I suck at platformers too!”
He was way too clumsy for a platforming game and even though he considered himself pretty athletic, he hated the thought of so much jumping around.
“…Uh,” He scratched the side of his chin in confusion, wondering where they had been before they’d gotten on this topic.
“…I think you were talking about how you made your own clothes - maybe we were just talking about hobbies in general?”
Seemed like a pretty safe bet to him!

“Baaaah! I bet you could round up a good ol’ gang of friends, though!”
The kid laughs quite a bit before giving Ryuji a gentle punch to the side…. as best a runt like her could, at least.
“Fighting games are tough! I’d bet you’re tough as nails if you could be a boss before the big bad final boss! Heh!”
She mocks a one-two lunch combo, with the wimpiest uppercut to the air anyone could have seen. Punching is not this kid’s specialty, obviously.
“I’m sure I probably could for a day or two…!”
He gives a small chuckle, playfully returning the punch with a gentle one of his own.
“I like to think I’d be pretty tough,” He ran a hand through his hair, sheepishly. “I think what I got going for me is my loyalty,”
“Maybe it sounds like you should be the hero of a fighting game!” He observed with an impressed smile. “You’re pretty scrappy as it is!”

“Hmm… good question…”
The removed her hat for a moment, scratching the top of her head…
“I think I’d be a platformer boss! The weird kind that mimics the player’s movements, and you have to wait for me to make a mistake and WHAM! You bop me on the head!”
Hat Kid laughs a bit as she puts her hat back.
“What about you, though? Think you’d be a final boss?”
“Platformers are pretty challenging games! I think that’s an awesome choice!”
He nodded his head in agreement at her statement, inwardly impressed at how well she’d thought things through. Man, she’d sure put a lot more thought into this than he had!
“Probably a fighting game boss,” He admitted, shrugging his shoulders.
“But I don’t think I’d be the final boss - maybe the one that comes before. I don’t see myself as a leader sort, more of a follower,”
