Could I humbly request a lil fic (or thougts/rambles, whatever is best for you :) with Phantom helping with Dewdrop’s asthma? I know normally Aeth helps with the medical stuff but I was wondering what ant would do if he was in that situation

I think at first he's nervous about it while he's still learning. He watches Dew use his inhaler and he's seen the others help him (big and small) with his rescue inhaler.

Aether helps him learn most because aside from Dew himself, Aether knows his asthma better than anyone. I hc that as quints they can physically feel what's happening with someone if they focus enough which is especially helpful when Dew is too little to really speak.

The first time Phantom feels the weight in his lungs he cries because he hates that Dew feels like this so often, he especially hates knowing that it happens when he's tiny and helpless.

He takes it really seriously, sometimes to the point of annoying Dew when he's big. He's always listening to his breathing, trying to get him to take it slow which makes Dew snappy. He doesn't want to be treated like he's broken. Eventually they get to a point of understanding and Phantom is a little more subtle about watching him.

The first time he gets Dew through a bad asthma attack he shakes the entire time and his ears are ringing but he goes through the motions that Aether had taught him. Phantom refuses to let go of Dew the rest of the night, hugging the exhausted ghoul close to his chest, listening to his breathing. He doesn't even sleep that night, too scared to shut his eyes.

The first time he sees it when Dews dropped his heart breaks and he holds him with his nebulizer, humming softly while the treatment works into his lungs.

As time goes he's more comfortable with it and he doesn't even have to think about it anymore, he just jumps into action.

(little Phantom is still in tune with it and if they feel that heavy feeling in their chest they run off to find Mountain or Rain if Aether isn't there)

it should deeply disturb all of us (trans or otherwise) that a cis black woman was killed for the suspicion of being trans. That is the world we are living in. Trans women of color are killed every day, and now, cis women of color who are even suspected of being trans are facing the same threat. It's terrifying to think that this just happened and I suspect it won't be the last time. I've heard many a story of cis women being harassed for their "appearing trans", and it's so heartbreaking and infuriating. Please just look out for each other.

the idea that testosterone is a dangerous hormone that inherently makes someone domineering and difficult to be around is transphobic all round, leaning on bioessentialism.

for trans men and transmascs, we are warned against medical transition for fear that we may lose our agreeableness and perceived passivity. we are seen as potential aggressors after going on it.

trans woman and transfems have any testosterone in their system, whether on hrt or not, held over them like an original sin that can not be escaped that positions them as more aggressive and dangerous. it is seen as something that threatens their womanhood and can be brought up against them at any time to revoke it.

testosterone is not an evil hormone. it does not change your moral character. it does good for some and bad for others, like any other hormone.

Phantom must have been a surprise when he appeared. The past Quintessence ghouls were total juggernauts, and the ministry surely expected another hulking demon to crawl out of the pit when they began the ritual for summoning Aether's replacement. When he appeared instead, wiry frame and all, I wonder what their thoughts were.
