How did the Mercs first react to sniper?

Before or after the Dingo reveal?

Before they just thought he was really quiet loner guy. Pretty awkward in the minimal interaction, sometimes made weird noises, but that doesn’t stand out much considering the rest of them. Great shot, but never stuck around after battles and medic could never snag him to check the guy over. Always cooped up in his camper.

Not much of a trouble maker for the week or so that Sniper managed to keep to himself. A record for him. Until Scout bursts back on base screeching about Sniper biting his arm off (an exaggeration, don’t be such a baby).

Engie luckily is the one to talk with Snipes after the incident, he takes in the concept of Sniper being a lil “feral” (Dingo style) in stride. Outwardly he converses like they’re talking about the weather. Inwardly, he’s just concerned if Sniper snapping like he did is going to cause significant problems for the team.

Everyone else hears the lore drop through Engie. There’s the general “are you fr” and “I would say that’s kinda unusual but I guess that’s why he’s on our team.”

Scout immediately drops any grudges he might have “oh he didn’t bite me to be a dick he’s just Like That huh?” in favor of adding another freaky weirdo to his friend group.

Medic starts prodding alongside Engie for further details. Doc is very fascinated by Sniper’s circumstances, a little too intensely for dingo boy’s liking. (Until the novelty wears off and Medic has to struggle with Snipes for anything medical related.)

Demo subconsciously senses the internal depression and conflict in Sniper’s puppy eyes, learning about his unique background makes it a lot less subconscious. Also wants to add another lonely little weirdo to his freind group.

Soldier carries the exact same excited mindset that he does for his raccoon hoard. How is biting an issue?

Heavy is fairly indifferent if no one else thinks it’s a problem. He’ll mind his business, so far Sniper has not expressed interest in being sociable and Heavy isn’t the type to push in that regard.

Spy is extremely doubtful that an Australian supposedly ‘raised by Dingoes’ could get hired as a mercenary and proceeds to dig up Sniper’s entire recorded past history. He is corrected and merely shares relevant findings with Engie and Medic. He remains wary based on Sniper’s behavioral problems (biting, etc), but as Sniper becomes more relaxed so does Spy.

What Pyro gathers is that the team has essentially hired a guard dog versus a mere sniper. One that can be enticed with coffee and treats to play tea party occasionally.

Looking up as Spy approached, Canine let out a quiet huff. Sure, he was never too fond of any Spy and would rather be mauling an enemy than be in the man's presence alone, but he didn't get up to leave. Instead, he watched him, sniffing the air for a second to really make sure that the scent belonged to this team's Spy. When confirmed, he relaxed, and kept his fur flat.

Canine sits just outside of the base. The wolf's ears are perked, listening for possible danger as always, the duty of protecting the base more like an instinct now, despite being wild. He appreciated the mercs company. Sometimes. He preferred the hours of the sinking sun, just before the moon has fully dipped behind the orange tinted, natural structures of the Mexican badlands, and just after the heat of the day. His black pelt didn't particularly appreciate when the sun was in the middle of the sky. Too hot for his liking. Anyhow, he shifts, settling down in the dust as he takes a moment to relax.

*Spy just happened to be outside for a smoke break. Why wasn’t he in his room specifically designed for such an activity? Well, he needed air… (weird for a chain smoker but ok) and after a few moments of taking in the fresh air, he noticed the Canine laying by himself. Spy just observed him as he finally took out a cigarette, placed it between his lips, and lit it. Taking a satisfying drag before walking quietly towards the guard dog.*
