What is a bicycle? History of cycling, advantages and disadvantages of cycling.
What is a bicycle?
A bicycle is a two-wheeled vehicle. It is simply called 'bicycle' in Bengali. It does not usually have a machine, but some modern bicycles can be noticed. Bicycles originated in Europe in the 19th century. In recent times (2014) the popularity of bicycles in Bangladesh is noticeable. The use of this eco-friendly vehicle is increasing day by day due to its various benefits. By 2003, more than 100 million bicycles had been made worldwide.
The term was first used in 1848 in a French publication, probably to describe an unknown identity of a two-wheeled vehicle.
Many people claim that bicycles were invented for the first time. However, Carl von Darren of Germany was the first to introduce two-wheeled vehicles to the public. He exhibited his invented vehicle in 1818 in Mannheim, Germany.
The first two wheels of the bicycle were not equal. In 180, the first two wheels were brought to the same level and chains and tires were attached.
History
Icycle Historians disagree about the invention of the bicycle and many dates have been challenged.
