The Great Purges of 2002 and 2012 are when ff.net got a wild hair up their ass about THINK OF THE CHILDREN and nuked any fic posted on there that was explicit. Thousands upon thousands of nc-17 smutfics were lost.

It’s what led to the creation of alternate hosting sites for smutty fic…AdultFanfiction was the one I went to��but thousands of fics would never be recovered.

okay i need to talk about this for a second because tiktok is pissing me off

yes adults sexualising kids is wrong we all know that (and i’m talking about a 30 yr old doing it to a 13yr old not a 18/19 yr old doing it to a 17yr old) - kids sexualising kids however? let’s talk

a character is 14, the person is 15 - can they view that character in a sexual way YES THEY CAN

why you ask? kids in the age range 12/13 - 16/17 and literally going through an era of discovery of themselves in physical, mental and yes, sexual ways - it’s called puberty

by shaming, demonising and hating on kids for exploring sexual concepts you are literally preventing their growth as a human being - destroying confidence and more

a horrible community has formed on tiktok (specifically anime tiktok) that for some reason believe children don’t have sexual feelings before the age of 18 - apparently they don’t date, kiss, experiment or have sex either

i do understand why people want to ‘protect’ kids from sexual content but there comes a time and age where protecting is doing more harm than good

I feel like we as a society do not appreciate fanfic writers enough. Imagine commiting to something you don't get paid for, not always appreciated, taking up a huge chunk of your time and the worst of all, some a**hole complaining that fanfic writing isn't actual writing.
