MISCELLANEOUS SENTENCE PROMPTS * collection #5
take a nap with me.
please don't go.
you talk too much.
don't bother with any male chauvinistic compliments.
such disdain can not and must not be tolerated.
my handwriting is so bad, sometimes i think i should've been a doctor.
i wouldn't say no to getting lost with you.
we've got the element of surprise on our side.
i had to carry you for a while. it wasn't pretty.
anything broken?
i'm very impressed with you.
drinks all around!
now what is that supposed to mean?
i guess freedom is purely relative.
can you repeat that? i wasn't listening.
i'm not a threat. i won't hurt you.
what sort of trouble are you looking for?
when you're ready, we can get out of here.
i couldn't find your gun.
well, i thought you might be a little angry.
oh don't tell me. let me guess.
keep that thing away from me.
glad you think i'm hot... i guess.
hope that wasn't a family heirloom.
how has work been?
i don't think the world is full of criminals and full of murderers. it's full of nice people.
it could happen to anyone.
is your head clear yet?
will you go find yourself another suspect?
don't ask me any questions. i'm calling my attorney.
i'm trying to watch the game!
that's been known to happen.
i could wait.
can i ask a personal question?
how can i be angry looking at you?
i don't want to cut down on my standard of living.
don't catch a cold out there. wear a jacket.
you sure do know how to work a crowd.
what brought you here tonight?
i don't think you care too much.
that was... unexpected.
are you in charge of this mess or not?
this isn't what it looks like.
i just go where they tell me to.
i hope this isn't a bad time.
do you see something wrong?
here's your scarf. you dropped it.
i miss the way you used to touch me.
that's a stupid idea.
did it rain last tuesday?
can i sit in this?
that's not my problem.
did you have anything specific that you wanted to talk to me about?
i'm beginning to be very fond of you.
i didn't realize i drank that much.
may our enemies never be as happy as we are at this moment.
if you wait a while, we can go home together.
screw the rest of them. make them squirm.
that's the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me.
i meant to do that.
everybody is a suspect.
it's noble of you to come galloping to the rescue.
i know that. you told me.
you see, artists are very, very delicate.
you'll always have everything.
there's just one more thing i need to ask you...
can i use your phone?
i wasn't snooping.
can i take you out to dinner? my treat.
isn't that peculiar?
thanks for stopping by.
i usually don't drink anything i can't pronounce.
i just don't want anybody else to have it.
mind if i smoke?
what do you think of this?
i really appreciate your taking the time to chat with me.
why do all these people feel that they know me?
i can't tell you what a big help you've been.
as you travel through life, you'll encounter many barriers to happiness.
you're safe. i promise. i'm right here.
over my dead body.
that must have been very hard, losing someone you love like that.
this didn't need to happen.
i must have your name.
what's the matter? did i scare you?
what did you pay for those shoes?
i'm not very good on details, that's why i write everything down.
you didn't have a fight or anything, did you?
i've never met anyone quite like you. can't decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
are you still with me?
i guess it slipped your mind.
let's go inside. we'll be more comfortable.
do you mind if i grab a blanket? it's freezing in here.
just for the record, i love you.
maybe you should take the couch tonight.
maybe it would help if i knew where i was taking you.

“ A bestseller, hm ? ”
The smile upon his face grew, even if only a slight angle. He knew that others saw him as interesting, but he hadn’t thought it to be so interesting as to be a winning story. The more he thought about it, the more likely it sounded.
“ If it would be such a popular novel, we should hope it would be a good one. ” A thoughtful nod. “ A good story. ”
" Mhm, " Nick hummed, " bestseller. So famous, everyone for one hundred miles would know your name. " He spread his arms out for emphasis, his smile growing.
" It'd be a good one, Jay. Especially with you as the lead. "

[ @ship-status asked -- ]
It felt like an eternity and yet no time at all had passed since that night. Chaos and betrayal, a poker night gone wrong, and it had left them trapped. Trapped in a mirror, and then trapped in a body that wasn’t theirs. They could have gone after the others. Could have tracked down Mark. As soon as they reached the doorsteps, though, they’d stopped. Something kept them back. There wasn’t anything left in the Manor for them. Rage, anger, hurt — it filled them, tried to control their actions.
Then . . . then, there was Damien.
Left behind, just like them. They couldn’t leave him. Couldn’t abandon them like everyone else had. The Manor was empty, save for the two of them. One trapped in a mirror, and one trapped in a form that felt more like a prison than an escape. The mirrors, thankfully, provided a way for the two of them to communicate between. A barrier, yet also a gateway. Asher had paced the room, the strange glitching that flickered in and out of existence within the air around them shifting. Harsh movements had nearly knocked a vase from the nearby table, and hair was mussed ragged from their hands threading through it — but it all had thankfully been contained ( to a degree ) . Deafening silence sometimes spoke more than any words could.
[ ( throws @fearlesscxptain into tv!au, as discussed hehe. emotions time >:D ) ]
Damien was alone. He was alone, as he had been for decades. He watched the manor around him decay, the once opulent halls filling with mold and dirt. It'd all be returned to rest, one day, he supposed. He'd still be here, though. Waiting for people to remember him. Waiting for people to come back for him. Waiting for people who he hoped, he prayed, still cared about him. It was a far off hope, a far off dream, but it was all he had left.
He didn't even have his own body.
Then someone was here. Something else, something that finally wasn't just creatures burrowing into the walls and the shadows that played on the edge of his vision. The whole house creaked, leaning into the new presence, as if all the walls were eavesdropping on whatever may happen. And Damien saw Aster. He pressed against the mirror, hands touching the cold glass, not that he noticed the cold much anymore. Aster's outbreak almost caused him to flinch, to pull back, but not now. Not when someone was this close.
The house groaned as Damien spoke up, in a hoarse whisper of a voice, "Aster?"

[ @divinely-wrought : continued from here !! ]
“ I think that you’re far more apt to answer that than I am, old sport. ” A small laugh accented the blond’s reply. “ If you did know the answer, though, I don’t think I’d want you to tell me. I’d rather live how I can, without worrying about all of that. ” He had enough to worry about already, after all.
Turning to face the man beside him, his expression shifted from lighthearted to far more genuine. A particular talent of his — to set someone at ease with merely a look. “ If we were, would it be a good novel ? ”
Nick watched Gatsby, a small smile across his face. He loved hearing Gatsby's replies to his own thoughts, whenever he cared to voice them out loud. It was nice hearing what his friend had to say, even if he didn't understand the life he'd surrounded himself with. "Don't worry, I'd keep it to myself, I swear." He raised a hand and crossed his heart.
Nick hummed. "It'd be the best novel," he said, "especially if it was about us. Bestseller guaranteed."

“ Do you want to be a good person ? ”
It was said as simply as though the question he’d been asked was just as simple. With such a poetic spirit as Henry’s, perhaps he had pondered the question before.
“ I don’t think it’s something for me to decide. I am not the definitive decision on such a thing. Then again, I don’t think anyone is. It’s up to your heart. ”
Lifting his head, he regards Victor with a softened yet unbiased look. Perhaps slightly curious. “ So, do you think that you are ? ”
Victor looked at Henry with an amount of confusion. This was Henry Clerval, the one of the best people that he knew, who else could judge him good or bad? Who else could deftly say what path he was walking?
"I..." Victor looked at his hands. "I'm unsure. That's why I asked you, friend." His gaze went back to his friend, a small, nervous smile on his face. He half-whispered, clutching his hands together and pressing them against his chest, "I don't know."

An almost panicked look was the initial response, though quickly masked by Jay’s usual calm demeanor.
“ There’s no need to apologize, old sport — you have nothing to apologize for, ” he said with a slight shake of his head. “ I didn’t mean to keep you, though, if you have something else to tend to. ”
Did he want to be alone … ? Well, no. That was not an easy answer to voice, though.
Nick shrugged, hands stuck in his pockets. "I figured I was taking up your time here, Jay, didn't know if you had matters to attend to." He gently shifted from foot to foot.
"I, however, am still open to staying here longer, if you'd have me." Nick grinned at Jay, his friend, the strangest one he'd ever had. He shrugged, taking a look around the room. "No need to cut our time short, huh?"

[ @divinely-wrought : countinued from here !! ]
Though he’d been in the middle of standing, Henry slowed at the question. A look cast to his friend, and he could not help but sit back down, saddened guilt apparent upon his face.
“ I don’t want to, dearest, but I do have work that my father expects me to tend to . . . , ” he began, though his words quickly trailed off in the midst of his explanation. With a small smile, he spoke again. “ . . . I might be able to talk my way out of staying a while longer, though, if that is what you would like ? ”
Victor's face betrayed a slight guilt at the sudden question before it even left his mouth, ducking down a bit. Ah. He hadn't meant to be so hasty to ask for just a minute, a second, longer with his dear friend.
He looked to his friend's face, lips pursing together and hands folded into his lap. "If, uh," Victor looked to the side, "if it wouldn't be too much of a bother. I understand work needs to be done." As if the drive to always and constantly be working on what interested him had ever faded from him. He worked his hands, looking down at his feet. "You can go, if you need."
