Is Demetri anything like his dad (Derek) and if so, how? What negative traits does he have that he doesn't acknowledge, or are more visible from an outside perspective? How might these come out later in life? (my asks sound like english teacher prompts LMAO)
good question my friend! i do think demetri isnt much like derek, but does have a lot of stuff that stems from him (for those who dont know, i hc demetris dad as sucking major ass)
his emotional repression is a result of that (idk if its super obvious, but if you compare demetri's emotional honesty with his mom in no attachments vs spit the blood back baby you can see dereks impact), and his need to avoid confrontation and sorta just take it comes as a result from dereks bumass as well as his habit to sort of just give up before he starts things
his tendency to match serious conversations with humour or wit is a derek thing. his passive-aggressive petty ass is also lowkey derek core. same with his tendency to be one track minded.
really, demetri is demetri. dereks impact is subtle and slightly different depending on what the au requires (such as whether or not he and jenny are divorced or whatever). hes a character im always developing and always adding to, so it can be kinda hard to place sometimes how!
also, i WILL get around to your hunger games ask - its just that it spawned basically an entire au that i still need to cook up! itll come eventually!

Imagine a rule 63 AU where both Eli and Demetri are cis girls... how would shit go down? Pls give me your craziest thoughts on this, my first instinct is SamTory 2.0 but I feel like the juice is diff w hawkmetri...
i fear they would somehow be even more devastating. something about girl friendships and girl betrayals hits different!
samtory 2.0 but so much worse because they cared about each other first for sure. a lot more psychological damage as well as the physical assault. they know each other so well and are so angry and they know how to make it hurt. lowkey giving jackieshauna realness but if they were both loser nerds
i do feel like traditional ideas on masculinity/toxic masculinity is a huge part of their conflict, so i havent thought too deeply on this tbh. if youve got thoughts on it anybody please share im so keen to hear it!

𝓻𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻𝓲𝓮 (binary bros fantasy au)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
word count: 3446
summary: elijah reflects on his traitorous past as it stands right before him
relationships: platonic sametri, ambiguous hawkmetri
tw: slight description of gore
a/n: so i took a writing workshop last semester and i incidentally had a dream about binary bros in a fantasy realm. it was super cool and one of the techniques we were learning in class was dream logic or even incorporating parts of dreams into our writing so i thought "why the heck not" and submitted my fanfic. unfortunately i underestimated how popular cobra kai is and i got called out for it being fan fiction but everyone really liked it for the most part !
tldr; i haven't been a fic writer for YEARS so this might be a one and done thing but i thought you all might enjoy this :3

Elijah watched Demetri assemble their campfire with the wood Samantha collected from nearby trees. Although Demetri had always been rather awkward and uncoordinated, his family’s role in the village as farmers and gatherers made him more than skilled in wilderness survival. Elijah hadn’t been so lucky; his father’s role as a hunter intentionally never included his son.
He’d overheard his father say one day, “He’s too soft. Couldn’t handle a dagger, let alone a bow. He’s better off with his mother.”
And so he stayed chained to his mother for years, learning to weave textiles for trading instead of a useful survival skill. How pathetic he was. He can still recall the tears and snot dripping down his face as the village boys taunted him. Even the way the village adults watched and whispered about him when he’d walk to the market with his mother or play with Demetri by the edge of the trees. He couldn’t go anywhere without his mother or his best friend, lest he break out in tears like the sniveling baby he was. It couldn’t be enough being born with that cursed red scar, stretched from his right nostril to his upper lip; no, he had to be born weak too. Not tough enough for the village, not even his own parents.
How any of those same villagers expected him to show mercy when he discovered his dragon identity, marked by the birth scar upon his lip, was beyond him. Simply because he now had some worth, now that his facial deformity held some significance, he had to excuse their years of abuse? Forget every person who grimaced in his direction when he made his way through town?
“Does Hawk need food?” Elijah’s eyes snapped up to Samantha and Demetri, watching them whisper amongst each other. He supposed they didn’t know about his enhanced hearing abilities; after all, he discovered most of his instincts and abilities in the years after betraying the village for the Cobras.
“He will. Eventually. He doesn’t like red berries; he prefers nuts and meat, if you can find any.” Elijah rolled his eyes. Of course a dork like Demetri still remembered his food preferences.
Without either noticing, Elijah studied Samantha and Demetri. They both carried far more muscle than he remembered. Their faces were worn by stresses Elijah wasn't privy to, telling a story of grit and restlessness between them. The baby-faced children he recalled from his childhood had grown into seemingly strong and mature adults. Though, change was inevitable from the time he'd been absent, he supposed.
The last time he’d seen either of them was about five years ago when the Cobras launched their attack on his childhood village. He recalled pouncing and clawing at anyone in sight, their harsh laughter and cruel words from the past echoing in his mind with much more vigor than they’d originally been uttered. The mauled remains of Brucks clawed its way to the forefront of Elijah’s mind before he violently shoved it back like always.
Demetri and Samantha were there, fighting back against the Cobras’ onslaught, with some other young villagers trained in combat. Elijah remembered wondering when his lanky childhood best friend learned how to fight. He also remembered wondering how well he could defend himself should Elijah attack.
Blinking back the memory, Elijah watched Samantha head back into the forest with her father’s hunting gear, ready to collect supper for the three travelers. Well, two travelers and their hostage. Semantics.
Demetri turned to Elijah and stalked over to the tree they’d roped him to earlier. “Sam’s getting some food, we’ll camp here for the night and we should get to the Cobras’ base by noon tomorrow.”
“And what exactly do you plan to do once we arrive? They’d have you outnumbered fifty to one. Besides, bringing along Princess LaRusso is a death wish, you’re practically setting yourselves up to be held prisoner. Or worse, killed.”
With a glare and a huff, Demetri turned his back to the dragon hybrid and returned to the makeshift campfire. “Believe it or not, we have an actual plan. But it doesn’t concern you.”
“Do you?" Elijah barked out a sardonic laugh at their naivety. "Your biggest security against me is tying me to this tree. I could shift right now and have both of your heads for imprisoning me.” These two were seriously the most trusted protectors of their village?
“Then why haven’t you, Eli?” Demetri sighed out. Elijah almost believed the question was rhetorical. He watched Demetri lay out a blanket against the dewy forest floor, propping his utility sack at the top as a makeshift pillow. Demetri stood and faced him again.
“Did you really think we were dumb enough to think a rope was enough to restrain a dragon?” Yes, Elijah thought to himself, many people in that village seem to be so. “I’d be offended if I didn’t know the Cobras inflated your ego and convinced you everyone is beneath you.”
Elijah squinted at the taller man. “As if you don’t think the same thing. You practically believe you invented every bit of knowledge in our world.”
Demetri smirked as Elijah felt his anger boiling within his chest. “Sure I do. I seriously doubt any of these idiots even know how to identify poison ivy from tree leaves. Hell, your own villagers coined the name ‘Hawk’ for you because they can’t tell a phoenix from a dragon. Or a phoenix from a hawk, for that matter. The difference is I know I’m more intelligent,” Demetri glanced down at the rope around Elijah’s clenched fists and middle section, unwittingly zeroing in on the red hot rage ready to burst beneath the surface. “But you’re just glorified muscle. Do you really believe the Cobras would think so highly of you if you weren’t an all-powerful dragon? Only a desperate idiot would fall for that.”
Elijah gave into his urges, allowing that ever familiar feeling of shifting take over as he lunged at his old friend. However, instead of the usual physical morph he’d become accustomed to, he simply tugged at the ropes with an embarrassing growl. With a flushed face, he looked down at his body, panicked by the apparent lack of scales.
Demetri's smirk, however, appeared unfazed, satisfied even. “Never forget, Hawk, we might’ve been best friends as children, but you don’t know me. Don’t assume you do.” Elijah looked up just in time to catch the uncharacteristically smug yet irritated expression on Demetri’s face before he winked and turned back to the makeshift campfire.
After Samantha returned with food, and Demetri cooked it, they ate in silence. Rather, Samantha and Demetri ate in silence while Elijah watched them furiously. Elijah, better known by his reputation as Hawk, was feared in practically every corner of the universe. Even Samantha LaRusso’s father, a once proud and noble fighter, feared the great Hawk. Yet here he stood, bound to a tree, watching two weaklings—two humans—eat in complete comfort.
Pathetic. Pathetic. Pathetic.
“Hey,” He called, hoping to catch their attention. Samantha glanced up but took notice of Demetri’s lack of reaction and followed suit. Elijah called out again, louder, but still received no response. Exasperated, Elijah kicked out a scoop of dirt in Demetri’s direction.
He flinched in reaction, giving Elijah satisfaction in seeing his indifferent facade crumble. “How petulant are you? What do you want?” Demetri snapped at him.
Finally Elijah got the better of Demetri, if only for a moment. His lips turned up at this. “If you both insist on keeping me tethered like a beast, the least you can do is entertain me.”
Demetri quirked a brow, “You need entertainment?”
“I’m restless.” Elijah deadpanned. “Come on, you have me prisoner, I haven’t eaten in a while. At least talk to each other; I can’t stand the silence.”
“You just want us to slip up and reveal something you can tell to the Cobras.” Samantha said as she shook her head, digging into her meal once again.
Maybe Princess LaRusso, as the Cobras mockingly called her, was more than the prettiest face in the village. But Elijah needed to gain their trust. “What could you possibly say that would be that dangerous? I grew up with you both, I carry the same inside knowledge as you. Besides, small talk is an ideal way to pass the time.”
“Oh yeah? What small talk, pray tell, do you have in mind?” Demetri asked.
It may have been rhetorical but Elijah casually answered, “You could start by telling me why I can’t shift.”
Demetri watched him, Elijah felt unnerved by his calculating stare. After a beat, Samantha chimed in, “Why do you need to know?”
Before Elijah could respond, Demetri answered his question, his eyes still pulling Elijah apart piece by piece. “We hexed you.”
Those three simple words froze time and Elijah’s whole world shook beneath him. To be hexed meant he was powerless. He never officially trained in combat either, usually relying on his size and strength when shifting; to say he felt vulnerable was an understatement.
Even worse, to be hexed meant witches were present. As a dragon, his brawn, more often than not, supplied sufficient intimidation and power against his enemies. However, a witch could see through that in a second; snap their fingers and force him back to that weak and skinny little boy. He'd never had the displeasure of encountering a witch before, mostly hearing of them through passing prisoners and travelers.
Elijah forced a shaky scoff, “You’re lying, only witches-”
“Yep, witches.” Demetri confirmed, still staring at Elijah’s now pale face with a passive expression. “I told you, you don’t know anything about us, Hawk.”
Suddenly the rope around his midsection felt less like security for Samantha and Demetri and more like security from Samantha and Demetri.
They both returned to their food while Elijah tried to make sense of the panicked haze in his mind. His vision went gray and unfocused. How can Demetri be a witch? How skilled is he? Questions stormed through his mind and he was powerless to catch even a single one for a second.
He previously let the two have their power play by using him as a trade for the Miyagi Medallion from the Cobras as a mild form of entertainment. Let them believe they had the upper hand as he led them back to the village, then attack when he had them surrounded.
With their magic, however, Elijah's stomach twisted with anxiety at the level—perhaps even favorable—playing field Samantha and Demetri were standing on.
“I’m sure you’ve figured it out by now but binding you to the tree is to ensure you don’t run." Elijah's eyes moved to Demetri, who was suddenly standing in front of him. He absently wondered how long he’d been spiraling over his new revelation. "We still need you after all. But we can untie your hands so you can eat. Good?”
A small smile graced Demetri’s face, somewhat of a peace offering—even after all these years, Demetri still sensed his panic. Elijah knew that look all too well. It reminded him of scraped knees and a hand reaching out to help him back up. It reminded him of whispers drowned out by a suggestion to play a new game. It reminded him of a time when the man in front of him was his only source of comfort in this world.
Elijah hated the way his shaky vision cleared at the sight of this smile, the ground beneath suddenly firm and his head stock still. He huffed though it came out as a soft sigh, “Fine.” Demetri must never know how he still affected him.
After Samantha untied his hands and allowed him to sit on the ground with his food, Elijah felt more subdued than before. Despite the still present rope around his midsection and ankles, the last thought in his mind was an escape plan. He stared down at the carefully roasted walnuts and rabbit meat as his foggy mind spun with buried memories and anxiety-induced possibilities.
The reveal of Demetri and Samantha’s practice made him far more disconcerted than he cared to admit. Even with the added comfort of Demetri’s small smile, Elijah felt his brain spinning in circles within his skull to make sense of this new information.
Demetri, the skinny boy who took a chance on him.
Samantha, the beloved daughter of the village legend.
Demetri and Samantha, the village's biggest threat against the Cobras. Against Elijah.
“It’s been almost six years, by the way.”
Elijah looked up at Demetri, who sat by the fire beside Samantha with little room between them.
“Since we began practicing witchcraft." Demetri clarified. "In case you were wondering. You seem like you actually do need small talk. I can feel your crisis radiating off you and traveling through the ground from all the way over here.”
Elijah frowned down at the mud beneath his feet and shifted from where he sat experimentally, “You can feel that?”
A moment of silence passed before Elijah looked back up at the two. At his confused scowl, Samatha giggled and Demetri grinned, though Hawk felt small and embarrassed. So much for the great and powerful Hawk. “He’s teasing. He just means you’re quiet with that scrunched look on your face.”
“How should I know what abilities you both possess?” Elijah mumbled, frustrated with his own naivety. He willed the blood to stop rushing to his face.
“We don’t have enhanced senses.” Samantha reassured with a warm smile that Elijah didn’t feel he deserved.
He nodded anyway and allowed his mind to slow down. His thoughts felt far easier to grasp, like tall grass blades gently allowing his hand to curl around them before slowly pulling away. He meagerly spoke up, “You said you’ve been practicing six years. That would’ve been before the…” Elijah trailed off.
Generally, every time the Cobras’ ambush on the village was brought up, Elijah forced down the tension in his heart before he could ruminate on it, hiding the guilt that choked him with a leer. The ambush itself never had much of an emotional impact on him. Not even the body count he heavily influenced. It was the end of the fight that haunted him with a harsh grip on his shoulders, refusing him even a day of comfort.
“The battle, yes,” Demetri finished quietly. He inhaled deeply and exhaled, somehow shaking all the tension from his shoulders. It may have been a facade, though Elijah wouldn't know; it seemed he didn’t know Demetri nearly as well as he once did. “When the others revived the Cobra name, Sam’s father believed more trained combatants to protect the village, even those of us that weren’t predisposed to a fighter lineage. Word spread—quietly, of course—and we all gathered to train nearly every day. It started as simple combat but her father showed us a few witchcraft techniques and we’ve been practicing since then.”
Memories of Demetri being absent most days and becoming progressively more secretive snuck back into Elijah’s brain. The loneliness of that period is what had initially pushed him a little bit farther into the Cobras' ideology. The whirlpool in his mind seemed to enlarge but one question became far more pressing, “If you were training in witchcraft and combat, why didn’t you fight me back?”
Demetri and Samantha tensed, Elijah eyed Demetri’s left hand as he subconsciously trailed it along his right arm, stopping to rub his shoulder with a pensive expression. “After only a few months of training, I wasn’t a very strong fighter—you can attest to that,” Demetri let out a humorless laugh. Elijah couldn’t decipher if he was referring to the fight or Demetri’s steadfast weakness in athleticism growing up.
“But truthfully,” Demetri continued, “I suppose I just didn’t want to hurt you. I didn’t want to fight you anyway. You were my best friend.”
The snap of Demetri’s arm punctuated the last sentence as Elijah grimaced. The blood seemed to originate from a never-ending fountain within Demetri’s back, gushing from the deep claw marks left by Elijah with no mercy. The thick, dark liquid oozed down his shoulder blades and enveloped his neck like a scarf and seeped into the ground below. The sight of Demetri’s blood-soaked body, face down as he fought for consciousness, seemed permanently seared in Elijah’s brain.
Best friend. What even is a best friend?
Elijah supposed a best friend wouldn’t betray you. A best friend wouldn’t fight you, pin you down, break your arm, and gash you in the back. A best friend, he mused, wouldn’t leave you choking and gasping for air through the pain as they ran off with their new friends. He thought maybe a best friend would comfort you when you’re sad. Or distract you from the things that make you self-conscious. A best friend, perhaps, would refuse to fight or hurt you.
Maybe he had a best friend at one point, but it seemed Demetri didn’t. Not in Elijah anyway.
The usual guilt and nauseated feeling that built in the back of Elijah’s throat and his stomach returned but he didn’t force it to hide behind a leer this time. This seemed to be the least he could do in return for all he’d put Demetri through. He allowed the self-hatred and sadness to stew and manifest into thick droplets that rushed down his cheeks and nose, hitting the ground and his long-forgotten food.
"Anyway, I...I'm sorry. If I'd invited you to train with us, maybe the Cobras wouldn't have..." Demetri trailed off, his words wrapped in a soft insecurity.
Elijah glanced up to watch Samantha grip Demetri's arms with her chin rested on his shoulder. He couldn't decipher how long they'd been in that position, or why it looked so natural for them.
“No, you've never deserved what I've done to you. I'm...I'm the one who should be sorry.” Elijah croaked through his raw vocal cords. His skin felt on fire, his fingers abandoning the food and gripping onto his clothing for any tether to reality. The silence stretched and the world tilted, squeezing Elijah’s chest tighter with every second that passed.
A soft hand rested against his, his eyes met Samantha’s as she now kneeled in front of him. “He knows you’re sorry. It’s consumed his mind for five years,” She reassured with a soft smile that Elijah again felt he didn’t deserve, even more so now. He watched Demetri who stayed by the campfire, gaze turned pensively downward and massaging his right arm as he curled in on himself. “But the scars go much deeper than the ones on his back. Ones you and I can never reach or heal for him. You need to accept that for yourself and him.”
Elijah’s eyes turned back to meet Samantha’s. He desperately wanted to beg, plead with her to fix everything so he could heal his old friendship. However strong the urge, he knew he held sole responsibility for the ruins of their relationship, caused by his inflated ego and anger misdirected toward the only person that ever soothed it.
Samantha and Demetri couldn’t fix the state of things any more than he could. He reluctantly nodded and watched Demetri relax the smallest bit when Samantha returned to his side in the same position from before. Natural. Instinctive.
A memory gently sat in Elijah’s mind, a memory of the day his father condemned him to being a weaver with his mother. Ten-year-old Elijah sat outside his home, knees curled up to his chin and arms wrapped stubbornly tight around himself. Ten-year-old Demetri simply sat next to him and held him around his shoulders and allowed Elijah to slowly unravel himself like a flower blossoming, opening to welcome the sunlight and enter its truest form.
A feeling of gratitude warmed Elijah’s heart, in spite of the pain, knowing that Demetri got his sunlight. Demetri deserved someone to make him feel as special as he once did for Elijah.
As Elijah swatted away the remaining tears, he thought back to the present, the current state of things. The previous assumptions that Demetri hated him had long since evaporated from his mind, but he still had a village to answer to. At the end of this journey, Samantha and Demetri would trade Elijah for the Miyagi Medallion and head back to their village while Elijah remained a weapon for the Cobras.
His ears twitched as he heard Samantha whisper to Demetri above the crackling fire, “Will you be okay?”
Demetri quietly responded with a small smile, “In time.”
Elijah sighed to himself. Perhaps, in time.

What if Eli had Max’s rewind ability from Life is Strange? Or better yet, which character would you imagine w that ability for maximum drama potential?
funny you mention eli specifically, because i have an 'eli time travels' au in the barrel actually! if anybody wants to hear about that hmu...
eli with max's rewind ability would be insane. he'd do the thing - that, tbf, most of us would - and just rewind to get every interaction to go perfectly. very much would be honouring ep 5 nightmare-max's idea that max doesnt care about doing whats right, just about doing what makes her look best...
in a hypothetical lis-based au, demetri is obviously more max-like and eli more of the chloe (though lbr demetri just IS warren... potential for eli to be nathan lol) but hes also seen Too Many time travel movies and shows and books and such to be so reckless and stupid with it. so, he probably wouldnt get into half the shit max does (though he is insane enough about eli to maybe break from that), but also hell he can bend time thats so cool!
truly their both insane enough about each other to break time and space for the other like max does for chloe. eli i think would let the power go to his head a little - i mean, heres his ticket to popularity and never fucking up again hello - while demetri would be a bit safer with it. if eli had it, demetri would obviously subject him to so much lab-ratting, while if demetri had it, eli would just ask him to do shit just because he could
theyre both insane, gay geeks. do not mix time travel with them ever!

What would happen if Bella Swan joined cobra kai… would she get to the all valley… what would be her toxic cobra kai persona… the people need to know 🙏
i think johnny wouldve obliterated her the minute she walked through the doors but in chance she somehow made it as a karate soldier, i feel like itd have the opposite effect than it does for most characters. the others get bullied LESS after learning karate. bella would get bullied MORE
i think she could have the chops to make it pretty far, if only she doesnt get caught up in vampire shenanigary. maybe knowing karate would help her not fw edward? at least charlie would be more at peace knowing she has SOME kind of hobby and friends, at least until it starts getting to the criminal side of cobra kai koolaid

HAHAHAHA Eli’s apology tour era is so fun… he really is a nerd-turned-power-fantasy-turned-gay-nerd again. Love this story! I’ll be so honest though I HATE Eli here 😭 he’s such a jackass and what do you mean he ACCEPTS Demetri’s apology??? He has nothing to apologise for!!!
I guess the question is, as an author do you think Demetri has his attitude to apologise for? Because it’s reading as ‘rich boy can’t handle getting joshed by friend and then nukes city’ for me. I know it’s in-text thematically but by GOD have you made me hate this guy. 😊
elis character is insanely complicated in the show and somehow even more in STBBB! hes just a boy but also hes lowkey evil but hes just a lad! hating eli here is SO real (and will lowkey only get realer) because he truly is just. being so awful
demetris apology is somewhat of a peaking for this story. youre so right that eli is SO very in the wrong and that demetri has little to apologise for except for maybe being a little annoying. HOWEVER, demetri as a character is a different story. from demetris perspective, he feels there is some need to apologise. its not even realllllyyy an apology, though you guys dont know quite why yet hehe
i wont get TOOOO into it because it gets into spoiler territory and idk if the people want that (happy to message with ya if you do want that!) but his apology in chapter six comes from a place of guilt thats different from eli's. rather than it being about what he did (like eli who does fucked up stuff), its more about what he DIDNT do. its complicated and chapter six only just gets to touching on it before he focus shifts - it WILL come back!
thank you for the ask and im happy you enjoyed! hopefully by the end eli will win you over again... maybe :P

u mentioning hamliza as one of ur other ships gave me flashbacks to when i would listen to burn in the car and imagine a whole binary boyfriends animatic to it in my head in a world where demetri weren’t so forgiving and had a full-blown crashout after getting his arm broken or after learning that eli didn’t apply to mit and he burns old pics/memorabilia of him and eli :-:
ANON THIS IS SOOOO REAL… au when!
i may or may not have both versions of burn on my hawkmetri playlist.

Sorry hawkmetri nation BUT… how would you see hawkmetri getting divorced / breaking up / drifting apart? What would be the cause/event/behaviour that would trigger it? What would cause them to drift apart? How would their futures look in this dark timeline? Your fics are great at characterising them both (together and apart) so I wonder how you’d see this go down 🤔
im so glad you asked. i have MULTIPLE aus of the divorce/break up/drifting apart genre. here are two the ones ive been obsessed with so far >:)
the silver springs au. basically, canon-compliant up to season three, where after eli breaks his arm, demetris mom goes NOPE and they move away forever. only after this fact does eli realise, oh shit, im lowkey the worst, and goes on his redemption arc. he goes ages without seeing demetri (subsequently haunted by this fact) and almost gives up on trying to reconnect (hes a coward) until they get to college aged/adulthood where he. keeps catching demetri out and about. and its every opportunity he doesnt take to talk to demetri and how much he longs to, until demetri just fucking walks up to him one time and starts talking like its no big deal
in honour of chappel roan the subway coming out, the subway au is similar but different. instead, the boys get together post season three and break up in season six part one, where they never make up after the sekai taikai and demetri goes off to MIT by himself. eli spends the whole thing in shambles trying to reach out to demetri, whos avoidant ass is ignoring him. demetri is trying to figure out who he is without eli and it always seems to round back to eli himself, and eli already knows a life without demetri isnt anything he wants but he doesnt know what to do (emotionally repressed <3)
i am an angst lover so dont be surprised if one of these aus (or, an entirely other break up au lol) hits an ao3 tag near you. im evil
in general, a possible break up between them relies on two factors: their terrible communication skills, and their co-dependency. eli is ultimately someone who responds to any negative emotion with anger and whos so deeply repressing his feelings, and demetri is avoidant and hates the idea of change or confrontation. its bound to give. however, theyre intertwined! sold together do not separate! theyre soulmates! but, i do think itll always lead back to each other (in the end). these boys cannot stay apart for long, so dont worry

If hawk and demetri existed in the OG 1984 Karate Kid timeline what would they be like? Would it be just as toxic or would they be wholesome uwu? How would they interact w other characters… ORRRR how would u change the story if they were the main characters?
(Hope you’ve been having a good summer @hawkmetrianon !)
ill admit its been ages since ive watched the og kk movies but let me think...
i think, in the context they just also exist, daniel and demetri would be friends but lowkey beef. theyre having a diva off. theyre trying to out snark each other. everybody around them is losing. but, yknow, loser solidarity. eli probably would still join cobra kai (bullying would probably be worse) and would be one of johnny's goons lol. pretty similar to canon except maybe a bit more 80s homoerotic yk
if they were the main characters, i dont honestly think too much would change. as a daniel stand-in, demetri is significantly worse at karate and takes way longer to get good. probably gets his ass kicked a couple more times. eli's hair is probably even more obnoxious. maybe theyd just get to making out faster? not sure!
(thank you! i hope yours has been wonderful too!)

do hawk’s parents ever realise that they’re dating or do they just get a wedding invitation one day and assume it’s for tax benefits
in my headcanons, eli's dad suspects hawkmetri since the beginning but never says anything. his dad KNOWS. he gave eli the talk in the most gender-ambiguous way possible. he has eli keep the door open just a smidge "for ventilation" when demetri is over. hes been mentally preparing himself to go to a star wars themed wedding. eli introduced demetri to them as kids and he could feel the earth shift. hes been sitting on this for like ten years or something. demetri WILL be his son in law whether eli knows it or not
his mom, however? oh, boys will be boys! what good friends! its so touching to see boys be more open about their brotherly love! she has no clue and is infuriated when she finds out her husband never told her. and hes just like "it wasnt obvious?"

So random but if you’ve seen Wicked you know the elphaba/galinda dynamic – who would be who w hawkmetri? How do you see shit going down? AKA how would the dance scene work if it were an au fic 👀
i love wicked! this is a good question hmmmm
i feel like depending how you spin it, either of them could be elphaba or glinda, but in my head eli-glinda and demetri-elphaba works maybe a little better. a big part of glinda is that shes popular, obviously, but also that she's putting on a front - unless shes with elphaba that is. and elphaba's inherent goodness despite all the shit she goes through, plus her no-shit-given attitude at times, i think works out!
i cant really see eli... dancing. at least, not in the same context as in wicked. maybe instead its a different show of solidarity, like telling everybody to fuck off back to their business lol
