i’m very serious about this like it drives me physically insane that in our FIRST significant introduction to peeta, we’re told the story about the burned bread and how katniss’s epithet for him is “the boy with the bread” and then as they get through the games together, katniss gains her own as “the girl on fire” and then we find out in cf that the marriage ceremony in 12 is when a couple toasts a bread in fire together????? its been said time and time again that the love triangle was barely a love triangle given how obsessed katniss becomes with peeta after the first book but like. it really HAS been him since day one. it really would have happened anyway, no matter the circumstances, because they were spiritually bonded as children. they really are canonically soulmates im not even being facetious about it ITS REAL

hijacking storyline was great but I will never forget that it took away from me the possibility of Peeta going absolutely feral when Katniss got shot. Give me worshipful Peeta who thought the love of his life died so he goes down on her when she’s healed up

i would’ve fucking died to see his reaction if he were himself when she got shot. ALSO!!! i guarantee he had an emotionally confused reaction to seeing her get shot even while being hijacked because i truly think that peeta never stopped loving her. it just got buried beneath his conditioned fear of her for a little while. but it’s extremely telling to me that once they’re able to really talk again during the capitol mission, his increasing devotion to her meant that he was rediscovering (in real time) how much he still adored her. “i can’t” are not the words of a man who ever stopped loving a woman

So at the end of the first chapter of MKX, Johnny uses his green glow to save Sonya from Shinnok

Then, 20 years later, he tells the kombat kids about it and says this

"I've never been able to re-summon that green halo. Raiden thinks it was triggered when I saw a loved one about to die."

HOWEVER, we DO see ONE instance of Johnny using his green glow BEFORE he saves Sonya

At the beginning of the first chapter, Johnny, Kenshi, and Sonya are on a helicopter when they get attacked by Scorpion

Kenshi immediately pushes Johnny out of the way to protect him

Then gets hit by a blast of fire from Scorpion

And then Johnny uses his green glow to kick Scorpion away from Kenshi

Kenshi is one of Johnny's loved ones

If Kenshi/Sonya/Johnny ever happened it would be so funny watching Sonya have to explain this to her dad.

Sonya's Dad: So your boyfriend has a boyfriend?

Sonya: Yes, and I am also dating the other boyfriend.

Sonya's Dad: So you have two boyfriends?

Sonya: Yes, and they're also dating each other.

Sonya's Dad:

I feel like the old man would be more confused about it rather then disapproving. Like Sonya's never had time to have one boyfriend and all of a sudden she has two.

(Although I'm not sure what would annoy him more, Kenshi being ex Yakuza, or Johnny's entire personality.)
