fanfic writing culture isn’t “oh dang! I wanted to write about this prompt with this character but someone else already wrote it, so now I can’t”.
fanfic writing culture is always “two cakes is better than one. the more the merrier. there can ever be enough fics of this character with this prompt!”

I like how Romans talked about domestic spirits. They're kinda dead ancestors, kinda previous occupants, kinda local nature spirits, kinda the house itself. There's lots of different types but they all kinda blend and overlap into an amorphous class of spiritual fauna.

Pros of re-reading your own fic
a good time;
Has exactly the tropes you like and the characterization you want to read;
Gratification: yes you did finish a thing and yes you did do good;
just a very fun time all around.
Cons of re-reading your own fic:
Is that another TYpO

I haven’t seen the HTTYD remake yet but it’s hilarious to me how John Powell wasn’t allowed to use the same track names so he just decided to be a troll.

when i say i’m from ukraine, people assume i live somewhere else now. when i say i live in ukraine, they assume i’m somehow immune to war, and there’s a logical division between a ukrainian they chat with on discord and a ukrainian on the news. bitches my yaoi is written from the bomb shelter

A Pair of Greek Gold, Hardstone & Enamel Earrings,
The enameled swans hang from a granulated disc, which is reminiscent of the decoration of Macedonian shields due to the semicircles extending from the edge.
Chains decorated with emerald beads hang down from the sides.
Hellenistic Period, Circa 3rd - 1st Century B.C.
1 7⁄16 in. (3.6 cm.) long.

@zealousnerdreview
You asked about the the bone stealing witch saga. That one actually made news because of how bad it was. I was very much here when it went down, the post with this witch detailing their shit crossed my dash.
Basically, they were offering to sell and send in the mail human remains and when called on it, would go on about they treat said remains better than the cemetery they stole from, made claims about it being Indigenous magic and all kinds of wild crap.
Their post in question.
Article about this person.
Laws on human remains in Louisiana were changed to include harsher penalties.
#somehow I almost forgot about this#didn't realize there were actual legal changes because of it#I remember the first time I heard about this I sort of thought... haha good joke no one would do that#we don't need resurrectionists lol#well we don't but that doesn't apparently stop people
