he liked this one. he moved quietly and he didn't talk much unlike the rest of the hooligans that decided to test the decibel level of the bar every evening. hayden poured the usual for the guy and placed it down on the bar.

he had been trying to get out of his shell more - a promise he made to himself when the new year rolled around. so far he was failing miserably but he remained determined to branch out.

zach approached mount olympus and entered the bar to order a drink.

someone was talking to him and he didn't like it. where was persephone to keep people away from him? "champagne is a loose term to call whatever that was in the glass"

he was a man that preferred to be left alone while he perused the newspaper drinking his quad and black coffee. normally anyone interrupting him would've earned a look of pure rage but as eilonwy was a medical professional and was the doctor to his children, he restrained himself.

hayden placed his paper down with a sigh and picked up the napkins to hand over to the blonde.

it was a rare occasion that eilonwy had a day off, and she was spending it doing as little as humanly possible. this morning, she’d had a lazy morning consisting of a long lie in bed and then a leisurely breakfast. continuing on with her day, eilonwy found herself sitting at enchanted rose café enjoying a coffee and pastry. she’d popped by to say hello to babette and victor but given the fact that the café was so busy she didn’t want to interrupt them.

“excuse me, could you please pass me one of those napkins?”

"right...yes" he nodded to be polite "it's quite the place your other half has built up over there, he should be proud. i don't know him well but i get the impression he's one of the good ones. persephone holds you both in high regard and i trust her judgement, i wish him well in his business endeavours"

hayden bodaway was an intimidating man to be in front of. she apologised for the unprompted visit "i was dropping off a thank you card to everyone who attended ray's opening. you were all generous to spend your time there and it was appreciated"

"yes, that's exactly the type of thing that you do. if people want chicken nuggets they can go to mcdonalds, i'm not running a fast food chain"

"If Patrick was here, do you think I would be annoying you? This is a fine establishment, Mr Bodaway, but if you can't keep chicken nuggets in stock people will start to riot."

hayden was leaving the house to head to mount olympus when he almost crashed into jane. "a card? what for?" he questioned. did he forget one of the boys birthdays? no that doesn't sound right, one would've reminded him of the other or persephone would've at least reminded him.

jane was over the moon with how well the opening of evangeline's went for ray and she was on cloud nine with their engagement. as a thank you, she personally wrote thank you cards to all attendees and had spent the day dropping them off to each of their houses.

he liked this one. she was intelligent and thought for herself in an articulate way. "a logical thought process, most around here don't use that" hayden wondered what the university could have possibly offered this young woman to have closed the deal with her but he was certain that after speaking to her that she would've made sure that she got the better end of the deal. "my condolences to your fathers health and if there's anything i can assist on, contact myself." sure it was nice of him, but this motive was self serving. having someone like belle in his circle would be beneficial to him. someone like her would be good for paxton, perhaps he would say to persephone to introduce them. the option of patrick did crop up but he wouldn't do that to the poor girl. "persephone is a councillor in town and she would be able to provide any advice you might need in regards to town life or anything specific."

hayden bodaway was one hell of an intimidating man to be around. from the moment belle met him, there was an aura of power and importance about him from jump.

"perhaps most see you as someone who is too busy to have the time to chat? you've built your empire and you have your partner and children to spend time with. you're a busy man" it was stating the obvious but she wasn't going to say that mr bodaway was unsociable. "in all honesty, the offer was too good to keep turning down and the town is a quieter environment than the big city. my father is unwell and i'm hoping the slower pace of life will benefit him"

he was stopping by town hall to visit persephone and dropping off some coffee to her since she was slowly making her way back to work. on his way out he heard minnie speak up. "there's nothing you need to assist with, i was here to see persephone for a visit. the mayor and i have a meeting scheduled for next week so there's no need to go annoy them now"

Minnie had been in her own little world walking back to work. She had her first pumpkin spice latte of the season in her hands, a delightful little pastry in her purse, and one of her favorite, most fashionable outfits. She felt her mind wandering to all these stories she could tell, and in particular had started narrating her own life in her head, as if she was the main character in some quirky tv series or indie movie. She was so caught up in her day dream she had almost missed someone gesturing at her.

"Oh! Hello, hi!" Minnie said, "What can I help you with? Do you need me to ask the Mayor about something?"

hayden was not one for meeting new people nor was he someone who freely gave time away, not when he could be spending it with persephone or the kids. however, when he had been picking up an order at the bookstore he had met the newest addition to the town - a welcomed intellectual compared to some of the others he had the misfortune of meeting.

"you're welcome, though i can't say many would say that i would ease the transition into a town. most keep away from me." he spoke plainly, lifting his coffee to take a swig and cursing that he was unable to smoke indoors "it's not often we have a headhunted professor with the accolades that you have arrive here. what had you coming to the decision to move here?"

being new in town came with its challenges. she had an unwell father, a new job to deal with all while moving to a new town to start her life over. she wasn't sure if things would turn out as well as it was sold to her when the university was trying to win her over but she figured anything was worth a try.

"thank you for sitting down with me. i don't know people around here and it helps to have someone like you to help ease the transition into the town"

the twins were thankfully good sleepers and the new parents couldn't have lucked out better. they went down quick and they were in a routine faster than expected. hayden on the other hand expected it, they were his and pesephone's kids after all, they would be remarkable.

"they're fine, they've been working. the boys have been doing overtime since i've been dealing with the kids. they've been around a lot to see the twins, though the twins have already started ganging up on patrick" he chuckled "paxton's stepped up. i intend to have him take lead whenever i choose to step down but he's been distracted of late and that won't do"

"i'm glad she's doing well. i'll be sure to let persephone know that it's duck related gifts from now on"

ella smiled widely, looking at the twins carefully without waking them up. Baby's sleep was sacred something she learned being a mother was that you gave up sleep because of them as well. In between naps were important, you needed them if they were criers like dandelion had been. especially when she started teething.

"How are paxton and patrick, i haven't really spoken them recently?" With paxton being involved with nani and patrick and her being on this awkward relationship after their breakup.

"Dandelion is doing well, she is having a duck obsession lately."

he had been in meetings all day and after all that he wanted nothing more than to head home and spend time with persephone and the kids. hayden didn't make it his business to mix with his customers in mount olympus, opting to view from a distance to make sure everything was running smoothly.

hayden had seen chelsea katz frequent the bar often enough over the years, and he made a point to keep out of her way due to his hatred of all things press. today was not that day.

"depends why you're looking for him" he added "he's not a man that likes to be annoyed"

If there was one bar in Redwood Chelsea liked the most (apart from Mulligan's and their karaoke machine, of course) it had to be Mount Olympus. Their whisky was easily the best in town, for starters. And, besides, it was one of the most interesting spots around, filled with all sorts of colorful characters.

But the one that intrigued her the most, as it should come as no surprise, had to be Mr Hayden Bodaway himself.

"Do you know where I can find the big man in charge?" Chelsea asked the bartender. "Bodaway, I mean. I've been coming for years now and barely had a glimpse of him yet."
