if there's not a surge of stories titled Hero Vol 2 or Across The Void 2 on Storyloom, I will be thoroughly disappointed in all of you. If they won't finish our stories, we will. In all honesty, Storyloom should just be Choices fanfics.

So this is PB's newest endeavor. Episode 2.0. We've all known that they've been working on another project, and here it is. What do y'all think about it? It looks like they're jumping a sinking ship (honestly, I don't blame them because #same, but my brothers in Choice, you're the ones that are sinking the ship). Curious to see how this pans out.

Wow Hero 2 is taking F O R E V E R.

I know most of us (not me tho huhu) have moved on to bigger and more exciting things in its absence, but I’ve had this idea stuck in my head since the ES finale and I wanted to write it as fic, but real life responsibilities, lack of motivation, laziness yada yada make it impossible, so here’s some incoherent babbling instead!

The crystal people are an expansionist race, cold and brutal, hardened by the loss of their home planet. They use the remainder of their now-dead planet’s crystals (the blue ones) to conquer other planets/civilizations for themselves, creating an intergalactic empire.

Alerted by the high levels of residual Prism energy in the Earth’s atmosphere (a result of the Silas blast and Vaanu becoming whole again), they decide to pay the planet a visit, landing specifically in Northbridge (active Prism energy levels are highest there as Dax and co. are attempting to recreate the Gate in order to find Alex).

I haven’t really thought through the specifics of it, but they probs send a scout over first, blending in with the humans and this scout traces the energy to the clocktower and finds out about Dax and co.’s plan to enter the Prism dimension blah blah blah.

Intrigued by the idea of an alternate dimension with a lush supply of crystals (something they could really use considering their supply is limited), the crystal people enter Earth under the guise of an alliance. Everything blows over soon enough, and the superhero dream team uncover the crystal people’s true motive.

(Eva never really trusted them, she tells the team later.)

It’s too late tho, the crystal people have already planted their people around Northbridge, holding the city hostage — the (still-defunct) Prism gate now in their possession.

Kenji and team are outnumbered and forced to retreat and go into hiding.

Realizing that they will probably have to permanently destroy the Prism Gate in order to stop the crystal people, the team take a moment to accept that they’re never going to see Alex again.

“It’s what they would have wanted,” Kenji smiles to himself sadly, his mind and heart at war with their new plan.

Eva squeezes his shoulder reassuringly and offers him a comforting hand.

“C’mon, hero. Let’s go save the world.”

The team get to work and manage to make it past the crystal people guarding the clocktower, just in time to see them activating the portal (they got help from a very reluctant Rochelle who got caught when they seized the clocktower).

Cue epic battle scene where Kenji and Eva rescue Rochelle and she and Dax end up working on shutting down the Prism Gate while Kenji and Eva fight off the crystal people’s guards.

It isn’t easy, but Kenji manages to snag the blue crystal being used to power the Gate and destroy it to shards, angering the crystal people’s leader.

The leader grabs Kenji by the neck, fingers tightening around his windpipe. (It doesn’t even matter that he’s still bronze, the crystal person clenches his neck as easily as he would a plastic bottle, nails digging in.)

Eva tries frantically to get to Kenji’s side, but there’s too many of them and she’s outnumbered and out of power.

“A commendable effort,” the leader smirks, watching the air drain out of Kenji’s body, his form growing limp in his hand. “But I’m afraid you simpletons are simply no match for us.”

Kenji feels the world around him growing dark, his vision blurring, but then a spark catches his attention, the Prism Gate coming to life on its own.

“Then why don’t you pick on someone your own size,” a voice calls from the portal, a form taking shape as they step out of the swirls of pink crystal energy.

Kenji can feel himself smiling before he even knows what’s happening, his spirit filled with a renewed sense of hope.

“Alex.”

HERO WEEK DAY 2: WHY I LOVE HERO

Okay, we all know Hero isn’t perfect. Plot pacing has always been a little off, and a lot of the fun hero stuff and LI moments are locked behind a paywall. (I mean, we almost don’t even see Grayson during the last half of the story without diamonds??)

It’s almost ridiculous to say that this is one of my favorite books given all this, but really, I love it for one simple reason – the characters.

I’m not even just talking about Kenji (who, you might already know, I love a little too much), it’s everyone – Dax. Poppy. Grayson. Eva. Silas, even.

At the core of it, Book 1 was a story about these people – Grayson with his mission to help the people of The Bay and learning to stand his ground against his father, Kenji’s growth from a wannabe celebrity hero into a true protector of the city, and Eva learning that she didn’t need to fight bad with bad to help her ailing father.

Sure, the story could feel too slice-of-life-like sometimes, but it’s that unique approach of grounding these characters to things we can all easily relate to that makes them more endearing.

Now if they can figure out how to mix these great characters with a kickass plot (and I have good faith that they can deliver after that amazing finale), Book 2 should be pretty damn epic.

Omg, if all the people in Across the Void are aliens, and they’re covered in crystals, could they be THE CRYSTAL ALIENS FROM ENDLESS SUMMER AND HERO?!?

Edit: Okay so Sol‘s alien race (the Dynamas) are only ones with crystals but STILL THE QUESTION/THEORY STANDS.*

You know how us TC&TF people ship(ped) Whitlock and Lia. Well this is a weak theory that I’ll add more to later when I think of more stuff.

Let’s say they at least became best friends. Whitlock rebuilt his city with her help. And he rebuilt the Mechataurs. Lia, having the ability to give (or take) life, gave the Mechataurs life.

Somewhere down the road they found more magic people in addition to Lia, Dom, Sei, and Sei’s whole village. They found People with Water, Earth, Air, Metal, Wood, Sun, and Moon powers. What if that fourth tier on the chart Professor Grover™️ showed TE MC was a Life-Att.

Edit 1: ayyyyyyyyyy I was right but Lia is a “Blood”-Att. Same thing different word.

Choices better get their fucking shit together. If I wanted straight hallmark romances, I'd download Episode or any other choice game. Fucking give me less bullshit like The Nanny Affair. Like are you fucking kidding me. The twins might be adorable but they the only reason I'm reading it. You took a fucking married Cishet dude's fantasy of hooking up with the nanny because he has no respect for his wife. And matured it a bit. That is where that fantasy came from.

I used to praise and reccomend Choices to anyone. Because of the amazing plots and dynamic characters. And the fact the stories didn't sound like a 12-year-old wrote them on wattpad. But with every new book, you lose my respect and my money.
