I need your knowledge, how did a coloring?
Gonna get crankin zkdjk
Ok im gonna do this hashtag art school style with a ball rendering
We start by of course, picking the colour, but not directly the colour you want. You put in the middle ground on the colour. Example, this ball is light blue, but you actually put slight dark blue in so you can better add light and shadow in the later process
Tumblr media
Next just add a shadow opposite to where your light source is coming from, im choosing top light so ill add shadow at the bottom
Tumblr media
Then add the light corresponding to where the light source is coming from. The balls startin to look tgether but we are not done
Tumblr media
The shading isnt done, we are going to add a lighter part in the shadow because its on a flat surface, and that surface reflects a bit of light back from the bottom of the ball, so the balls darkest area is actually the middle. This area where least light comes into the object is referred to as the "Terminator"
Tumblr media
Now we add shadow on the surface but not completely gray. Gray with slight blue tint because the light reflected from the ball is blue coloured. Understanding how light n colour affects things is key
Tumblr media
After that we add the terminator area right under the ball and we're done
Tumblr media
Once you understand how to do this with varying light sources and object shapes and colours, simplifying to cell shading or doing a variety of painting styles would be easier. Its always better to get a grasp of the real stuff before over simplifying things

how did the wrinkles draw on the male and female faces?
For males and females once age sinks in wrinkles are generally the same
Lets watch this lady turn into a grandma
Tumblr media
First i add the wrinkle lines near the nose n mouth i think its called the smile wrinkle or smthn
Tumblr media
Then i add some around the inside corners of the eyes to make a more saggy effect since wrinkles come from sagging skin
Tumblr media
Then i add crowsfeet wrinkles at the outer corners of the eyes n just near the cheeks
Tumblr media
You dont have to add this one but if its a toothless grandma, add wrinkles on the lips cuz toothless old ppl suck their lips in more
Tumblr media
You can also add the wrinkles at the forehead if u want but thats generally it

Yes, you know like on your tutorial on masks, face profiles, side
I start with a circle n lines for where the eyes are
Tumblr media
Then i draw the eyes, jaw and ears and where the nose would be i put a line. Ears start same height as eyes and end at the nose
Tumblr media
After that i just draw the nose and lips
Tumblr media
Cleanup the drawing n add a neck n done

Do you have any tips for drawing patterns on clothes?
When drawing patterns on cloth, youd definitely need a good understanding of how to draw cloth in general
Tumblr media
And when adding patterns, its important to understand the flow of the cloth
Tumblr media
Once you do so, adding the pattern would be pretty simple, and its best to practice it with checker patterns

How did the masks draw?
The main thing to remember about full face masks is that there needs to be room for the nose, and mouth nose masks just follow the shape of the nose.
I'll show some examples of mask types on the face from a side perspective

Do you have any tips for drawing children?
The general proportions i make is like chibi, but not quite there aksjks
Basically i draw the head still kinda big but not as cartoonishly huge as "chibi" art, and the height i make for children is around 5 heads
Tumblr media
Also i make limbs more rounded to make the body look softer than adults

Do you have any help with siren tails? What about the scales? It could be useful to me, please! :)
Ok ill start with proportions since people sometimes struggle trying to figure out how long the tails should be
Some people think its ok to draw the tail as long as a normal human
Tumblr media
But there isnt a sense of the tail having enough power to carry the upper torso in the water. Its better to make it at least 1 and a half times the size of a normal person, to give the sense of strength into it
Tumblr media
Addressing the scales is sometimes a stylistic choice but i go with making very small and drawing patches of bigger scales on the actual tail. I dont usually draw individual scales unless im messing around with my art cuz people dont really do that with fishes anyway unless its big scale fishes, but in this case small to medium size patches of scales can work just fine

How did the wings draw? birds, bats, insects?
Ok im gonna start with bird wings
Of course birds all have different shapes of wings and such but generally the most basic shape to put it is like this
Tumblr media
The shape usually differs by it either being rounder or the blue part longer and sharper at the edge
Tumblr media
This is a very messy example but basically following that shape, just add feathers above it, and it also helps after seeing those shapes, if you want to draw the wings folded
Tumblr media
Bat wings are generally easier imo cuz its really just like hands with loooong fingers and a skin web between each finger, save the thumb
Tumblr media
I dont have alotta experience drawing bug wings but ill categorize em into 2 : "butterfly" and "beetle"
Butterfly i mean by, well bugs that have wings similar to butterflies, like moths or other bugs, and also just any bugs that have 4 wings in total without any layer above the wings, like dragonflies idontwannaknowcuzbugtriggermeack
Tumblr media
This is the very very basic shape of it, but theres so many different looks to it you can make like the big eyes effect, or just transparent.
Tumblr media
Drawing the transparent type wings do need more observation which im just not ready to do aksjs but its basically alotta scales forming together to make the shape of wings
Or a monarch butterfly look which im.not sure how i memorized how to draw it its been ages.
Tumblr media
Then theres the "beetle" shape wings, basically wings that are folded and hidden under another layer above it, this works with ladybugs and hgh cockroaches too if u wanna draw those
Tumblr media
These bugs usually only have 2 wings so if u plan to draw these freehand just rmember they only got 2 wings under the protection layer idk what its called

how did the folds of the clothes draw?
I covered a bit of it on my clothes and eye asks but ill add more here
The general thing i see for beginners mistake is that they reference the placement of clothes folding from other art without understanding why and it ends up looking something like lumpy but also stiff piece of paper
Tumblr media
As i rmember saying last time, clothes follow body form and gravity, and also the tighter the clothing, the less folds happen
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Folds also happen in tighter/pinched areas, and stretched fabric as well

Are there any artistic mistakes that bother you? If so, can you give us the ones you hate.
Every artistic mistake bothers me i guess, but it bothers me most when ppl try n help or critique n they just completely deny it like. I know some dont want criticism cuz they just do it for fun but for the ones that want to do it as a job, dont ever put yourself on a fucking pedestal, theres always room for improvement n learning
