My childhood knew neither father nor mother;
one was away, the other at war.
Oh my mother, you did not hear your daughter’s
childish words, you neither felt her arms
around your neck nor felt her weight on your lap:
it was not your hand that cared for me;
when I was married no one prepared the bed.
I tell the truth — but I did not know your face.
You were the most beautiful woman
I had ever seen, you had to be Helen,
but you had to ask which one was your daughter.

A bit late but here’s my witchsona! She would be particularly interested in transfiguration and all manner of elemental magic. She would have a fat gray cat rolling around somewhere, live in a little forest hut with mossy boulders and bookcases as well as tiny statues inhabited by tiny bell spirits here and there. She would of course have the ability to transport at will to the nearest local coffee shop. Her hat is woven of grass and hollow in the center so hummingbirds can rest inside the holes, like a birds nest and she’s always followed by the little birds. They act as messengers for her, and represent the vitality she strives to find in life as well as perseverance in discovering her own magic.

Here’s a spring-themed wrapping paper pattern I made for my illustration class! The theme was Wild West and I wanted to show the desert in bloom. What better way than with hummingbirds and agave. :)

An illustration for class about a classmate and their pet. This guy loved graffiti, so I incorporated some of his style into the demon creatures.

An illustration designed to go with a New York Times article. I can take no credit for the layout of the text as I was working in a template.
