I feel that the ask you answered recently doesn't properly address the choice you made to include trans characters as a nsfw prompt. I don't imagine you intended this, but it ended up giving the impression that this event encourages attendees to view transness as a fetish/sexual act. Being trans is not nsfw, so it is confusing that you made this choice.

It was definitely not the intent! I write a lot of stories exploring gender, dysphoria, identity, and sexuality through sex. I can link them to you from my Ao3 if you want. Furthermore, we have trans mods (I believe we are all trans or not-cis of some flavor at least). I don't like to reveal things about myself on the internet, but for the record I am myself trans, bigender, aroace, and I struggle with my identity.

This is a fun little event my mods and I started as a lowkey thing to do over the summer. Whether you choose to add activism to it or not is entirely up to you! I made these prompts with stories I have written in the past and the tropes I gravitate towards in mind, and I am always using my writing to process my own thoughts and feelings about my place in the world. Fetishism was not the intent with trans characters as a nsfw prompt, but I am sorry you read it that way and can see why you would, but rest assured that was not the intent. Transness is not inherently fetishistic.

If the event or the prompts bother you, you are not required to participate! There are a few other events happening this summer that may interest you: Sail-Out Summer Flash Fest 2025, Rossier Exchange, and the Terror Big Bang (though author sign-ups may be closed by the time you receive this message (artist signups will be open soon)).

I really do appreciate you bringing up these concerns, but I am not sure what to do about them other than addressing them here, being aware in the future / down the line when I run other events, and keeping an open mind! Thank you again, hope this cleared some things up, and apologies if any trouble was caused.

Answering this anon here as it pertains to the NSFW prompts and I'm trying to keep NSFW and SFW separate! (I forgot to turn asks on over here; I do apologize!!! They're on now.)

I didn't intend 'trans pairings' to be implied as a fetish! I was just trying to figure out how to list prompts for pride and wasn't sure... what label to use. Queer pairings maybe? If you have a suggestion, let me know! I'm absolutely open to suggestions because I'm still relatively new to the whole online thing and the online etiquette. I'll admit adding forcefemme/forcemasc after which is a kink could have thrown that off, but some prompts got squeezed into other weeks bc I didn't have room for them. But the intention with that week (week 5) was to celebrate non-heterosexual pairings and explore that side of things with like... characters figuring out their gay, or trans, or learning new things about their sexuality and gender and whatnot thru fucking (something i've explored a lot in my fics and was really interested in offering that to the community!). Hope this makes sense, and again, please do tell me if there's any other concerns you have! I'm always willing to learn and understand new things and really appreciate you coming to me with this!

How does this work?

Every Friday from May 30th to July 25th, the weekly theme and prompts will be re-posted! You can do these in any order you want, and you can do some or all or one or none of them! You can even follow just the theme if you want, ignoring the prompts entirely. How you follow these or don't is entirely up to interpretation. These prompts are entirely optional and meant to give you some ideas and vibes!

Any time during the event, you can post your work under the hashtag #ADhcbs25. Make sure to not post NSFW content in the SWF tag. If you follow a theme or a prompt under that theme, please post your work with the matching hashtag as well! (listed in regular comic sans under the listed prompts). These hashtags will also be noted next to their matching week in the transcript below the cut.

A note on the hashtags! It's a simple system.

for prompts: the event name (ADhcbs25) + w + the week number + the week's theme (EG #ADhcbs25w1voyeurismexhibitionism)

I hope these are easy to use! I tried to optimize them for Tumblr's auto-fill system with tags.

Are tags required to post?

Not at all! They're entirely optional, but highly preferred for organization and ease of finding them in the future. Plus, especially if you use the main tag, it will be more likely your posts get reblogged to our blogs! Again, just make sure you don't post NSFW under the main tags.

Can I combine these with the prompts from the main event?

Absolutely! Just keep in mind to keep NSFW content out of the SFW tag.

Do I need to do the prompts to be a part of the zine?

Absolutely not! You will be automatically considered for the zine when you submit your pieces at the end of the summer, regardless of if you made anything following the prompts or not.

Rules

18+ Only! You can only follow this blog, post to the HCBS AD tags and/or Ao3, and/or submit NSFW pieces to the NSFW zine if you are over 18.

Use the AD tags, AD Ao3, and NSFW zine submission for posting 18+ content made for this event! Note: 18+ tags and Ao3 collections use an abbreviation such as HCBS AD or AD HCBS (instead of the full name)!

Please don't post anything 18+ to the main tags or the main Ao3. Please try and keep those spaces SFW; thank you!

In order to be eligible for the zine, fanworks must have been created during the time period of the event: May 30th to July 31st.

At least part of the fanwork should be summer themed!

Prompts are a suggestion and do not need to be followed but are highly encouraged!

There are no guidelines for how prompts can be followed if you do choose to follow them.

For example, prompts can be completed out of order. You can also just do one prompt, one theme, make your own prompts, pick and choose, etc! They are just there to inspire creativity!

You can combine AD prompts with main prompts. You can make main prompts NSFW etc., just please keep anything 18+ out of the main event tags / Ao3.

There won't be activities for the AD side of this event.

Any AUs are allowed.

Crossovers are allowed as long as at least one Terror character is involved.

RPF is allowed.

Any ships are allowed, romantic or otherwise. Any number of characters are allowed in the ship.

You are not required to post anything you make. You will be eligible for the zine regardless of whether you post your work publicly or not.

Last thing: why are y'all's design choices so low quality and following bad design rules? Simple! We don't want anyone to feel intimidated by this event or feel like their skills won't be good enough for the zine! EVERYONE is welcome, and EVERYONE is encouraged to join. This means EVERYONE! (I'm serious about that.) We wanted to provide an event that didn't feel as polished and professional as some of the other Terror fandom events because we know sometimes it's intimidating as hell, especially with such professionals in the fandom. This is a lowkey, chill, fun event. The goal is to have fun / provide a nice fandom experience with a summer theme! The zine is an added bonus at the end: think of it as a reward for being a part of this fandom and for taking part in this event! (also you didn't hear this from me, but the zine will definitely look legit.) (also this design language is really funny to me. graphci design is my pashun. comic sans and 90s windows clipart jumpscare. etc) (also it's so summery to me btw. lore but when i was a kid we'd go to a lot of resorts on the black sea and they always had menus at these restaurants that were so microsoft word created. it evokes a nostalgia in me and feels like the epitome of summer tbh)

Final notes! Links to the weekly themes and activities as well as their hashtags will be provided when we post the prompts, after which this page will be updated. Why so many hashtags? A personal preference! I just like the concept of being able to see what's being created under each week's theme.

NSFW After Dark 18+ Hot Cold Boys Summer Terror Fest Info!

NOTE: We have a SFW ALL AGES version of this event HERE. Please go there if you don't want the NSFW event / are underage! If you're underage, you're not allowed to be on this blog!

FURTHER NOTE: This is mostly copy and pasted from the main event as this is a NSFW branch off it and the idea is basically the same.

Anyways here's some basic info about what's going on with THIS thing. More in-depth FAQ to come + will be releasing prompts in the following days leading up to June! Really excited to have you all with us!

What is this?

A 2 month, NSFW companion to the SFW Hot Cold Boys Summer Terror fandom fest FOUND HERE! Nine weeks from June to July featuring a weekly theme with little mini prompts in between (unlike with the SFW event, there will be no activities here). Prompts will cover different flavors of NSFW kinks. Prompts can be mixed with the main event's prompts as long as they are tagged appropriately and kept out of the main event's tags (ie we are keeping SFW and NSFW separate (the nsfw out of the sfw), but the SFW and NSFW are companion events and go together and SFW prompts can be used for NSFW prompts (but not vice versa)). This will all be explained more clearly when the FAQ and Rules are posted.

Note: all NSFW info and prompts will be posted on a black background as the one above so you can easily tell the difference bw the sfw blog and the nsfw blog

What about the zine?

At the end of this 9 week period, a form will go out where you can submit one or two of your pieces you created for the fest. Some restrictions may apply (more info on this to come. restrictions will involve word count, maybe artwork size, maybe number of pages you can submit, etc.). ANY PIECE SUBMITTED THROUGH THE FORM WILL BE ACCEPTED! (with rules ofc such as you must be 18+, some kinks will not be permitted in the zine, etc.) After the submissions close, a digital zine will be put together and hosted for FREE DOWNLOAD on itch.io.

How do I participate?

Give us a follow! We'll be posting all the prompts for the event at the beginning and then re-posting each week's theme and prompts every Friday! Then all you need to do is create whatever you desire fitting that prompt (or not! do whatever you want forever) and post it with the tag #ADhcbs25 + maybe the theme's specific hashtag (for example #ADhcbs25 week 1 or something of the sorts. this is just coz i think it would be fun to be able to look at each week separately). We'll try to reblog it here (may need to host this on twitter. idk what's up w tumblr's nsfw things)! You can also post fics and art to our Ao3 collection which I will have set up and linked when the main FAQ / Rules come out.

Are there any restrictions? Can I do [insert AU here]? Can I do [insert ship here]? Etc?

Absolutely no restrictions except for the following: you must be 18+! Should be summery (because that's the zine's theme after all), and for this event we prefer sillies and fluff over angst but you can do whatever you want forever (the appeal of angst is massive and i am guilty of this sin (not writing fluff)). You don't even have to post anything anywhere! You don't have to follow prompts! You can do prompts out of order. You can only do one prompt. You can do no prompts. You can mix prompts. You can just pick one theme and do that the entire time. No limits!!!! Just make sure you're of age!

You can also do any ships you want, crossovers with other media (though we ask that at least one Terror is involved), any AU you want, etc!

But I really want to participate and I can't /don't want to make NSFW work / am under age!

When will this be released?

Hopefully by the end of September, even better if earlier / sometime in August!

Other Things to Note:

I—main mod Aubrey—do NOT know what my schedule for the summer looks like! I'm still looking for a job which may end up being full time which I will HAVE to do because I have to pay for school. On the topic of school, I'll be starting the fall semester sometime in late August! I also do not know what that schedule will look like at all. Furthermore, July is artfight month, and I love to participate every year! I'd love love love to get this zine running and really provide a good experience for ya'll (the fandom as a whole), but note that my summer may be absolutely packed. Finally, I'm on Pacific Standard Time and I currently have a terrible sleep schedule. Posts may not be made at times when you're online, so I'd suggest checking in every now and then.
