Okay I love Frank walking into walls over Mel as much as the next person but what causes Mel to walk into a wall over him?

Excellent question. My instinctual answer is Horny Brain because Let Mel Lust Over That Man is an important agenda item to me. If it’s at work I think she just catches sight of him across the ED with his hands clasped behind his head (like in episode one during the moment of silence for the nursing home patient) and the sight of his arms pulls her focus long enough for her to run into a desk or something. Her trying to explain it away draws more attention from her coworkers than her actually walking into anything. Crucially, Langdon has no idea this happened.

If it’s at home I want a full on Danny Concannon CJ Cregg The West Wing “we kissed and it was so good I turned to go and walked into a door” scenario.

Currently busy with putting that man in a box and shaking it, so enjoy a little buildup to his suffering hehe

The cravings have worn down most of their sharpness, too.  His cravings for Mel… have not. When it comes to her, no one can hold him accountable except Mel herself, and God knows she’s not even trying to, not even once. Maybe these ever coming waves of want would be easier to ride out if he knew how or why he ended up in these treacherous waters. He can explain the benzos, has explained them, to Robby, to Abby, to the therapists in rehab, to his NA groups.  He can’t explain Mel to a single soul, with his own at the very top of that list.  Her eyes find his own across the packed ER and not even the sirens of twelve ambulances could pull his focus away from her. She smiles at him and suddenly he holds a lighter and a canister of gasoline in his hands, ready to set his whole life on fire just to keep the warm glow of her eyes alive.  He shouldn’t. Frank knows that. Mel does too.
