it's so frustrating that the nebulous concept of "hating america" is given so much weight that it can be used to derail discussions. like okay, do you think people just hate america out of envy like y'all were saying around 9/11? that can't be it because this place fucking sucks, you don't see people claiming the same about countries with much better standards of living. and how the hell does that apply when that accusation is thrown at a citizen of this country?

honestly we can just go a step further and ask why the hell we're expected to like this country. because we live here? get fucking real! I pay my taxes and do what's expected of me as a citizen in this social contract and in return I get to watch as my money is burned on a bunch of israeli pieces of shit who constantly demand more funding for their genocide, and you can't even safely criticize them offline because the government is allowed to just assault and disappear people for it!
