being a resident for quite a number of years, it wasn’t that surprising to occasionally stumble upon new visitors from time to time—the forest tends to attract the curious wanderer, most of them being children though corvus has encountered teens and adults as well. no doubt the mysteriousness and vastness of the forest surrounding the small town has its merits, attracting the necessary tourists to help boost the town’s small economy.

so he wasn’t all that surprised to come one of the town’s newest ( and temporary from what he heard ) residents—something pines, a relative of one of the more infamous residents. though to be out here at this late hour, perhaps the child was lost? it tends to happen to those that are unfamiliar with the forest, especially after dark, corvus swears that the forest literally changes once the sun goes down but he knows enough not to do anything about it.

“i’m sure you do, young sir, but i don’t think it’s necessary.” the doctor stated as he stepped out from under the tree’s large branches. “i’m just someone who’s taking a leisurely stroll but i think i should be wondering why you’re out here this late.”
