Meulin smiled happily. She knew that her sister had forgotten sign language. It was pretty obvious with how slow she was signing. Though, Meulin didn't mind at all. She just loved seeing her sister again.
"It has been a while! Its been weird back home. The deaf school shut down so I came here! They accepted deaf kids so it was a good idea." Meulin signed. "Although, I'm still getting lost here and there around this school. Did you know Mittens had kittens??" Mittens was Meulin's cat. "She had like, a litter of 5! They were so cute!! I wish you could see them. Wait!! I have some pictures on my phone!"
She took out her phone and quickly unlocked it. Opening the pictures and showing Nepeta. There were 5 small kittens next to a large black cat. One, though, was smaller than the rest. "I didn't want to name any of them without you." She sighed as Nepeta took the phone. "I was pretty sure that you wanted to name some. But look at them they're so cute!! They are now 3 weeks old. Mittens was sad that I had to leave. But we also promised Mittens that she was going to keep her litter. So we're giving none of them away!" Meulin was so excited, she was practically jumping up and down.
Greet your Sister
Nepeta had, in fact, lost a bit of her fluency in sign language over the course of her being here, away from her sister. She didn’t use it everyday, and she hadn’t really had any thought to practice, so forgetting a few things was inevitable. However, she hadn’t forgotten so much that she was unable to read what Meulin had signed to her, but she wasn’t quite sure how to sign back. Thinking over what she wanted to say quickly, she started to move her fingers.
"No, I didn’t forget," she signed slowly, with a look of concentration on her face, "but it’s been so long!" That was about as much as she could put together at the moment, and she hoped that Meulin wouldn’t mind it not being perfect, as she was sure she must of messed up somewhere in there. She made a mental note to practice more later, and look up some words that she had forgotten. For now, though, she supposed the basics would be just fine! "It’s so good to see you again," she signed a bit faster this time, "it’s been a while since we’ve last gotten together, hasn’t it?" She couldn’t wait to hear, or read really, about what had been going on back at home while she was away. Maybe Meulin had figured out some more ships between the kids at home, or maybe there was another stay cat that was wondering the neighborhood or something along those lines. It hardly mattered, she just wanted to hear it all!

She brought him to the lake, kicking off her shoes and sticking her feet into the shallow end. She wasn't going to try and go swimming. Nope, she had no idea how to. So why would she try.
She stuck her hand into the water and then went back over to him. Taking his hand with her dry one, she tapped his hand with a wet finger. She smiled at his reaction.
Deaf Leading The Blind- Or Is It the Other Way Around?
He just scoffed, not seeming convinced. Standing around near the lake didn’t seem fun to him. This was probably a terrible idea. He couldn’t swim either.
But yeah, bring both the disabled kids who can’t swim down to the lake on their own, what could go wrong?

Meulin smiled happily as she hugged Nepeta. She saw her lips moving, but, for some unknown reason that it had to be her sister that Meulin had trouble understand. She just talked waaaaaay too fast. And it threw the poor girl off whenever they would try to talk. Which would usually be something about shipping things that both Nepeta and Meulin had read or watched together.
Meulin signed at her. "Forgot sign language already, Nep?" She asked. It was only a slight panic that erupted in her mind. She didn't show it at all to make sure she didn't worry Nepeta or make her freak out as well. "Hopefully you remember it so we don't write letters to each other like last time.
The deaf girl sure did miss her sister. Little sister, only a little bit older. Seeing how Meulin and Nepeta were both in the same grade. Only older by a few months. And those months really grew on her. Made her a bit more mature than Nepeta. Not really knowing how, but, for some reason, she did feel like the more responsible one between the two.
Greet your Sister
Nepeta was tired, and very much happy to just be in her room to relax. It had been a long day, to say the least, but not in a bad way. She had heard that her sister came to school, and she was just so excited to meet her, that the day seemed to drag by! It had been a while since she last saw her sister, ever since she left home for this school, and she had been eagerly anticipating the day where her sister would follow and come as well! Honestly, she wasn’t sure why the other waited so long to come, but she was happy to hear that she was hear now, nonetheless.
She was on her computer when she heard a knock at the door of her dorm. She placed her laptop to the side and walked over to the door, idly wondering who it was. She hadn’t expected it to be her sister, because she figured her sister would be busy with a plethora of other things today. Surely her sister would want to go meet new people and plan out new ships, as that’s the first thing that Nepeta thought about when she arrived! And her and her sister were relativity similar, as it would turn out.
"Meulin," she grinned wide at the sight of her sister, and practically leaped into a hug, "oh, it’s so good to see you! What have you been up to, are you enjoying school, what have you done so far?" Other questions, atop these, flowed out of the girl’s mouth. She couldn’t help it, she was just so excited! Her sister meant a lot to her, and she hadn’t seen her in a while, so this was very enjoyable to say the least.

Meulin smiled. Taking his hand and pulling him towards the lake. She was going to have a good time. Even if it was only just the two of them standing by the shallow end. Honestly, she was kind of scared herself, not really knowing how to swim but she knew that if she tried to learn she'd end up almost killing herself. That would be a horrible idea.
She wrote F U N in his hand as they walked outside.

"Lake?" he echoed somewhat weakly. "You wanna go to the lake?" he raised a brow, somewhat hesitant. He wasn’t the biggest fan of the lake, to be totally honest, the only time he had actually gone there had been that one time with Eridan. Other than that, he avoided it.
”Uhhh… yeah, I guess so. If you want.” he agreed.

Math Class
Walking through the halls and trying to get to a classroom where the teacher would sign whatever they were saying was always fun. Most of the teachers knew ASL for this pratuclar reason. The school taught her well. She loved this school. Most of the kids though, didn't know sign langauge.
So, while in math class, which was the class she was in at the moment. The teacher decided to create an activity for their students, which was pairing up people together. Meulin was paired up with someone named Karkar..? No Karkat. Who was that...? She got up and looked around, immediately confused. The teacher then pointed at where this Karkat was. Sitting at his desk with white hair. Hm, white hair.
She walked over to him and sat down next to him. Waving and signing her name and then asking what part of the activity he wanted to do.

She smiled. This could actually work. Maybe they should go somewhere that isn't the hallway. Maybe the library. That was actually a bad place to go. He can't see and she can't hear. That was a bad place. Hmm... What about the lake! She could make sure that he didn't go all the way deep.
She wrote H I and then wrote L A K E? She was kind of eager to go, but she didn't want to go alone. Hopefully he would say yes or something. Then she would lead him there.
Maybe these two could be really good friends. The deaf and the blind, helping each other out.
Deaf Leading The Blind- Or Is It the Other Way Around?
It took him a while to get that one, too, especially since she seemed to write her E’s differently than his and E was just a weird word in general. Plus, having words written out into your palm is weird and hard to get a hold of.
”Oh.” he mumbled, eventually. She couldn’t actually speak, then, he was assuming, at least, and sign language wouldn’t really do either of them much good, seeing how, A, he couldn’t see it, and B, he didn’t know ASL in the first place.
He took a second before nodding to her in return, in acknowledgement. He didn’t really get her name completely, but he supposed it didn’t matter all that much because how would she know if he pronounced it wrong, right? Mayulin or whatever? It didn’t matter.
  “I’m Sollux.”

Meulin didn't know what she said. She didn't understand the girl's lips. Her head cocked to the side as she quickly tapped her ear -- the sign for hear -- and then shook her head. Hoping the girl got the memo that Meulin was deaf. The music had stopped which kinda made Meulin sad. She liked the beat. It seemed like a good song.
Meulin also noticed that the girl was in pain. And she wanted to make sure that she was okay. She seemed pretty hurt to power through the song like that. What if she could dance like that? She didn't want to bother the instructor about it because Meulin would probably be really bad at it. She'd have to memorize every single step. Count in her head and try to get it at the right time. She knew that it would be very hard. But she could probably do it.
She waved at the girl. Signing 'Are you okay?' which came out as if she was pointing at the girl and saying O and K. Hopefully, the girl could understand her.
Why was this chick starring at her like that? It was weird. Eyes moving away from her eye contact, Damara made light, easy steps, arms swiftly moving in, and back out. As she let a light spun, naturally using her first three toes, Damara seemed to rise up for those next few seconds into the air and back down.
Flinching at the pain, shit, she wore the wrong shoes again?! Fuuuuck me, she thought. And definitely not in the good way. Doing her best to hide her grimace and pain, she tried to put on an expressionless mask. Damara had been skilled at this before, needing it for many different occasions. Her ankle seemed to turn the wrong way due to the regular ankle high Nikeys, and the girl almost tripped.
Her dyed, brown-to red-to blonde gradient hair had locks fall from her messy bun that had been held together with big, red, metal pins. Damara had been lightly already sweating. Shit. What was with her. Finishing the dance, her eyes quickly met Meulins deep green orbs, that still had been locked on Damara. Her eyebrows furrowed a bit calling out to Meulin, her fingers pressing into we own rib cage feeling a cramp, “何を見てんだ?? ” asking what she’s been looking at.

She read his lips carefully. Wow, he seemed very confused. She was still holding his hand as she wrote the letters wit her index finger D E A F. Hopefully he understood. She didn't let go of his hand though. Hopeful that she could just talk to him via hand.
She thought for a second before placing N A M E and M E U L I N. She looked up at him and watched his lips. She was very good at reading lips. Which came in handy all the time with teachers and students trying to talk to her.
Deaf Leading The Blind- Or Is It the Other Way Around?
He frowned a little when she grabbed at him, slightly unnerved from the silence. “What the fuck are you doing?” he complained, bristling slightly and glaring in her direction.
 And then she was.
 Doing something to his palms?
He wasn’t even sure what she was going for. Or why? He frowned, taking a moment, trying to process this and then ultimately failing. What the fuck…?
“Sorry?” he echoed her, raising a brow in confusion. “What? What are you doing? And why?”

The dance gym. Somewhere were everyone would think Meulin wouldn't go. But, she did. They played the music loud enough so that she could feel the beat. Which felt amazing. But, she sometimes wanted to hear it. Hear how people spoke or sang. She just wanted to hear...
The dance class started. This was her free period so she was allowed to come here. The dance instructor let her hang out here from time to time. She sometimes does homework or she read. But sometimes she just sat on the floor and listened to the music. Sometimes, there would be no one in the room execpt the dance instructor. They'd just let her sit next to the speakers. It was nice. And no one really cared for her to be there.
Today, she was watching the dancers. Kind of immating the moves while she sat next to the speaker. She watched them with excitement. Happily smiling at them as they went along with the music. When she locked eyes with Damara, Meulin smiled at her happily. Just like all the other girls.
Can You Even Understand Me?
Now in a black tight, body suit; Damara had been simply practicing her stretches. The last time she didn’t, when she tried to show off to the Boys just across the room by doing the splits and practically couldn’t use her legs. Which, had been very hard.
The girls skinny, and lean body bent over, touching the ground, that itself being easy since touching her toes wasn’t even a stretch by now. She had recognized both familiar, and unfamiliar faces. This included, the one and only, Meulin Leigon.
Wasn’t she in some of Damaras classes last year? Who knows. Adjusting the spandex sleeves up to her elbows, the Japenese girl rose up as the class instructor called everyone in to begin. Her dark dull look came over the other small figure that belonged to Leigon, and walked over besides the free spot, noticing no one had been around her at least for a 10 foot by 10 foot radious, weird.
Trying to figure the girl out, having a slight interest of the mystery Meulin held, Damara put half her attention back to the instructor as he began to talk, soon enough to put an upbeat tempo. Raising her arms up, Damara began to follow the steps with a breeze.

Meulin had been walking casually. Smiling at people she knew and signing a few things at others. She really liked this school. It was a lot of fun.
Up until the point where she was pushed, she turned around, kind of mad and noticed he couldn't see. Well shit. This probably wasn't a good idea. She couldn't hear and he couldn't see. Was this really happening to her? Was this even real? Wow, how could they communicate. Why would this happen?! What the hell!?
Okay, time to calm down. She looked down at his hands, which were being held in front of her face. She took one and wrote the letters S O R R Y in his hand. Maybe that could help?? She didn't know. Hopefully it did? She could read his lips pretty well. This was gonna be a fucked up friendship if they became friends.
Deaf Leading The Blind- Or Is It the Other Way Around?
His instructors and teachers and aides and doctors and everyone else had explained to him a million times that using his cane was important. It would help him get around, he probably wouldn’t be able to function without it seeing as he was total, imagine it as being as an extention of your pointer finger. Use it to find landmarks, find your shoreline, it’ll keep you safe.
 Blah blah blah blah.
Really, Sollux kind of just hated the cane. It didn’t… WORK. He didn’t like using it and never really had. So he just… didn’t. He’d rather use his hands to feel his way around or have someone guide him. But, obviously, there wasn’t always someone there avaliable to lead him around the school, so a lot of the times he was on his own.
He bumped into shit a lot.
  Sometimes that shit was people.
Such as right now, when he bumped into the back of someone. He sort of huffed at the impact, stumbling slightly but regaining himself quickly, giving a huff of annoyance. “Jesus, get out of the way.” he grumbled, prickly as usual.

Greet your Sister
This school was huge! There were so many rooms and classrooms and the library was so BIG. She just wanted to run around and read every book she could. Maybe she could meet new people before hand. Yeah. But wait. Her sister was here. She should go see Meulin before running off to read a bunch of books and start shipping.
Once she had put her stuff into her room, waved hi to her roommate. She marched off to see her sister. Who she was very happy about to see. She skipped along, her bright blue tail dragging behind her as she did. Her brown hair flowed behind her as she skipped. Wow, was she this excited to see her sister? Its has been a while. A long while. Hopefully, Nepeta remembered that she was deaf.
She stopped at Nepeta's dorm room door and knocked. Almost jumping up and down from her excitement.
