@draconis-dominus stumbled upon the wayward monk.
Terry would affix a gaze that had almost no emotion at the other, though the pupil of his right eye was partially obstructed by several bangs of hair that hovered on top of it. It was less like someone was looking at the other and more like he was simply being analyzed and processed. With no one he could turn to, the young man kept his heart inside of fortress of ice, though the walls felt like they were slowly killing him. With his emotions restricted to moments of solidarity, there was little that really separated him from an AI upon immediate inspection.
“Who are you?” The words barely had much emotion or personality inside it.The other didn’t look like another monk, but what did he know. He wasn’t told anything, he doesn’t even feel like he belonged here and was constantly in a debate with himself about if he should even stay here. Could they be related to one of the monks? Are family even allowed here? These and many other questions ran through his mind as he tried to pinpoint the other’s identity and relationship to the others that resided. He wouldn’t assume a combative stance, but he wouldn’t assume a welcoming posture either. It was neutral as he did what he could to figure out for himself.

Send me a “🖊+an OC“ and I will talk about that OC! It can be a headcanon, a fun fact, a small paragraph of backstory- anything!
Alternatively, send in just a “🖊“ and I will talk about any one of my OCs at random!

Terry was used enough to almost every form of hostility, caution, and/or suspicion that there was no way to conceal it from him. Under most circumstance, he would show little if any reaction. He had left himself vulnerable to meet the others in his hopes of making friends, that the hostility caused his body to shivered. At first it was due to the coldness he was receiving, but it was prolonged as he now considered being here a matter of survival and locked away his emotions as best as he could, reinforcing the shell around his heart, the coldness of the metaphorical wall being released by an actual shudder. He discarded any concept of them wanting to be his friends. If this was how he would be welcomed, he wasn’t going to keep his hopes up. He only hoped to find someplace to let the emotions piling inside the walls empty out.
He would reach his right hand out of his pocket to shake her hand, upon releasing it, the gesture being forced out of necessity and not out of willingness. He would release her hand from the shake so she could begin moving and he would follow, lugging behind a single suitcase full of clothes and a couple of belongings. His gaze would linger on the back of her feet as a cue, not wanting to meet anyone’s gaze, only nodding his head in affirmation about his status of Ice. Even if others did meet his gaze, his eyes for the most part were hollow and lifeless to emphasize him cutting himself off from his own emotions. “I don’t know.” His voice listless and almost dead. He honestly just wanted time to himself to get set up. Maybe it was mistake for him to come here, but not like his father would be willing to let him come back home.
@cauterisen has found the Ice Dragon in Training.
No amount of preparation would keep him from the constant fear that his identity would be discovered. After all who would want to be friends with the son of a crime lord. Hiding his identity is the only way for him to finally have some friends. That fear far outweighed the fear of falling off of Dojo during the flight from Venice to the Xiaolin Temple.
Until he could feel that they wouldn’t turn into enemies, he would keep himself restricted and his heart hidden behind the well developed wall of ice that protected it, but also felt like it numbed away what it felt like to be human each day it remained in its confines.
Taking a moment to gather himself, he would finally speak. “It is nice to meet you. I am Terence, but feel free to call me Terry.” He’d keep his hands inside his pants pockets as he tried to keep his calm.
