YESSSS OMGGG I LOVE LEE CHNAGBINNN
okay sooo
Lee: Changbin
Ler: Seungmin and Chan
————-————-————-————-————-———
The members were chilling on the couch as today was their day off. They loved these days although it was guaranteed Chan would still work. They settled in all agreeing to watch a movie. The popcorn was made, blankets in use, and fire on.
About half way through the movie, Seungmin got distracted and looked around. Next to him was two of his hyungs, Changbinnie and Channie. He noticed how engaged Binnie was and chuckled quietly to himself. It was rare to see all eight members so quiet while being together. It was quite nice.
Just as he was thinking this, his hand softly glided along Changbin’s leg, making him flinch. At first, the younger didn’t notice anything, but as he patted the older more, he noticed the flinching didn’t stop. In fact, the older started giggling softly.
Seungmin, quickly catching on to what was happening, smiled widely, then did it again, this time more aggressively.
At this, Changbin laughed loudly, causing the others to glance over in both confusion and amusement. The more he did it, the louder the dwaekki got. Chan being next to him, noticed what was happening and also joined in.
“Guyhysysysys hahahaha pleaheaseee hahahhahaha”
The others, being used to this behavior didn’t even bat an eye. They instead focused on the movie as if nothing was happening.
Chan being his usual teasing self said, “awww changninnieee is this too much? Aww someone’s ticklish.”
“Stohohohp pleaseee ahhahaha”
Of course he didn’t actually want them to stop. He was touch deprived and had been craving some kind of physical touch. This wasn’t exactly what he had in mind, but loved it all the more.
“Oh we know you love this, hyung”
The teasing was getting too much he couldn’t keep quiet anymore.
“HAHAHAHAHHAHA GUYSSSS PLEASEE HAHHAHAHA OMGGG HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA”
“Are you trying to kill him?” Hyunjin scoffed knowing all too well what it felt like being tickled for minutes on end.
“Okay we’ll stop”
“thank you hahahahha omggg”
He texting Chan and Seungmin in a group chat thanking them for the tickles.
He was too embarrassed to say it out loud but wanted them to know he had genuinely appreciated it.

I DIDNT EVEN SEE THIS WAS RELEASED HELLO WHAT. this made me feel so many things j was smiling so widely the entire time (that Minho habit is so me throughout this fic) AUGHHH YOU OUTDONE TOURSELF SO WELL I NEED MORE OF THESE, Ler chan cannot be beat I swear
Thank you! Okay here’s my idea. It’s kinda like a slowburn fic but tickling? So imagine it’s a Ler in a Ler mood (maybe Chan?) but is trying to hold back from acting on it cuz he doesn’t wanna make the others uncomfortable. But the members notice and decide to tease the Ler by doing little things near him but not close enough to let him participate. So like poking each other, short quick tickle, stretching and showing off weak spots but hiding them too fast. Just really making the Ler mood for him worse trying to break him but he keeps holding back until finally one of the Lees just flat out invites him to tickle them cuz you know you want to hyung. Basically a flustered shy Ler fic! I hope I explained it right. I think it’d be fun for it to be a longer fic so you can play up the flustery parts. That’s my idea! I love ur writing so I hope you like this idea and feel inspired to write it! If not, maybe one day I will post my version of it. Thank youuu!! ☀️

Ler mood: 9/10
Chan was this close to losing it. He felt the overwhelming guilt flood his system, like the feeling of sticky fingers after eating ice cream, that annoyingly clammy feeling that spreads through the body with no end in sight.
Jisung’s gentle snoring filled the studio, and Channie watched, laptop forgotten and bottom lip between his teeth, as the smaller boy shifted, his shirt rising just a bit more to reveal his tiny belly button.
The urge to stick a finger in there, to hear the high pitched squeal and chaotic, unhinged laughter that would ensue was catastrophic. Chan fidnt know how he’s still holding back.
But he was asleep, and what if it irritated him?
Chan felt the guilt rise again, and he nearly groaned out loud. His ler mood was killing him, and he needed one of the members right now or else he might actually explode.
Okay…so maybe he became a bit dramatic when his mood hits. But who could blame him?
Listening to Jisung complain about how sleep deprived he had been lately, Chan knew it would be horrible to just disturb him like that.
Tumblr media
Ler mood: 8/10
Wandering around the dorm in search of a potential lee, a sinking feeling began to emerge in Chan’s gut. Am I too overbearing? Is this crossing the line? And worst of all, Am I…weird for doing this?
Chan froze mid-step, vision going slightly blurry as tears welled up in his eyes. He felt absolutely horrible, hunting his members down to tickle them just because he was feeling a certain way.
Even if Changbin’s tummy looked too sweet not to be tickled, and even if Seungmin called him old one too many times, Chan wondered if the members hated the spontaneous tickling sessions he threw at them, whether it made them nervous, or even worse, scared of the leader.
Dinner time was a chaotic time as normal, all the members chatting as they devoured the scrumptious cooking, courtesy of Minho. Except for one.
Chan moved around the food on his plate with his fork and spoon, feeling squeamish and uncomfortable with the prospect of eating. He felt nervous as he felt seven pairs of eyes stare him down, like a flight of hawks.
“You haven’t eaten a thing, hyung… are you okay?” Hyunjin’s tone dripped of suspicion, like honey, sweet and sultry at the same time.
Channie gulped. “Yes, I’m fine,” He chuckled, trying to act normal even if he knew it wouldn’t work. His thoughts were confirmed when Minho narrowed his eyes at him across the room.
Chan excused himself, trying his hardest to ignore how the others stared holes into the back of his head as he set his plate in the sink and left.
Tumblr media
Ler mood: 10/10
Hearing the sound of screaming laughter, Chan shot up from his studio table, turning his head to see the rest of the members immersed in playful banter, and poor m was getting it, dozens of fingers attacking as he squealed out, face red.
Chan fought the itch to join in, instead trying to block out the sound of the maknae’s joyful hysterics  by slamming his headphones onto his head, pressing them against his ears in a hope that they’d drown out the laughter that made him wanna cry.
It did nothing, and Chan felt his eyes well up with tears again as he was forced to listen to the one sound that he wanted to elicit the most.
Tumblr media
He watched in slight sadness as Changbin showed off the progress on his muscles, pointedly looking at Chan to signify his point, and Chan felt horribly guilty for not being able to focus on anything other how exposed Changbin’s armpit was, and how easy it’s be to pin him down and tickle him silly.
It happened later again with Minho too. His feet were in Chan’s lap while the leader massaged, and Minho kept giving him hard looks, almost as if to try and egg him on as Channie’s brain filled with thoughts on how simply he could just skim his fingers along Minho’s soles and have the younger go ballistic beneath his tickling fingers.
Then with Jeongin too. The maknae kept poking Channie’s sides, at this point he was just asking for it, telling Chan fo get him back fast because “You know you want to, hyung.”
Chan wondered if it was all on purpose and the members knew, or if the universe was conspiring against him to make his ler mood worse.
Tumblr media
Ler mood: 10/10
After two grueling days of drowning in his own thoughts, Chan was dragged into the living room by Minho, and there awaited the one sight that he’d been dreading.
All of the members were seated around the couch, eyes sad and expressions concerned. Chan felt a knot form in his throat, and he felt so bad for making them feel upset.
“Hyung, seriously, what’s going on?” Minho asked, his tone gentle as he took both of Channie’s hands. “Did someone hurt you? Do you feel sick? You’ve been off lately, we’ve all been worried.”
“Please,” Felix joined in. “Please just tell us. You can trust us, hyung.”
“Yeah,” Jisung added. “We know you love to tickle us, and we love to be tickled, hyung. You can do what you want when you’re in a ler mood. Don’t hold it back and don’t overthink it. You’re destroying your own happiness.”
Chan sank into the nearby couch section, and his mind felt like it was exploding, and it was unbearable.
“I just want…to make you laugh. I want to make you all happy…” He started, sniffling as he felt many pairs of arms wrap around him. “It’s stupid…that I’m overthinking a ler mood, but I don’t want to…make you all uncomfortable.”
Jisung giggled, sinking to his knees in front of Chan, hands reaching out to cup the leader’s cheeks and jaw, wiping away the stray tears with his thumbs. “So you were watching me sleep because you wanted to tickle me?”
The leader sputtered, cheeks going red as the whole group laughed. “Well—hey!”
“So hyung’s in a ler mood. So why don’t we let him tickle us? You know you want to, hyung,”  Seungmin announced nonchalantly, although his red ears and pink cheeks told another story.
“Mmm…how about two minutes each in whatever spot he wants?” Hyunjin joined in, teasingly poking a reddening Jeongin’s cheek.
After some time discussing, the members all gathered on the carpet in a circle, staring up at Chan as the eldest gleefully sat in the center.
“Everyone has to try not to move their arms a lot, so that he’ll be able to do what he wants.” Minho announced.
“Easy for you to say, remember how many times you nearly killed hyung by slapping him while he tried to tickle you?” Jisung laughed, screaming when Minho made claws at his face.
Tumblr media
“First, Seungmin!” Felix screeched, and all of the members jumped into action, dragging the protesting puppy into the center of the circle, and restraining him to the floor.
Biting his lip, Seung could feel his cheeks heat up as Chan stepped over him, then lowered to pin his hips to the floor. The leader’s slightly shy gaze was too much, and Seungmin squeezed his eyes shut, feeling flustered.
He felt his shirt being untucked and pulled away, and he let out a helpless whine as his tummy was exposed to the cool air.
Then, Seung felt a pair of lips attach to his belly, and his eyes shot open in horror, but far too late.
“Oh my—GAHAHAHAHAHAA!!” Seungmin shrieked as he tried to curl in on himself to protect his tummy from the endless raspberries being peppered onto it.
Chan smiled, albeit shyly, holding Seungmin’s sides while he blew a long one right into the boy’s navel. “NO—NOHOHOHOHOOO!! Ihihihit tihihihickles!!” Seungmin whined, unable to shield himself in any way.
He endured more and more, feeling like he was gonna burst from how hard he was laughing. He even heard himself snort—how embarrassing. “STAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAP!! Pleheheheheheaseee!!”
Before he even knew it, his time was up, and he was released. Panting, Seungmin ran towards Felix and dragged him to the center of the circle.
Tumblr media
Now, Felix was a giggling mess, pinned on his back in the middle of the living room floor. His arms were stretched above his head, held firmly by Hyunjin, whose long fingers were occasionally scribbled along Felix’s forearms to keep him squirming.
Seungmin, seeking revenge, and Jeongin, had each grabbed one of his legs, keeping them still despite Lixie’s half-hearted attempts to kick free. The boy whined and kicked, but he was unable to break free.
Chan hovered near his waist, fingers poised hesitantly, but his expression was gleeful and joyful.
Lixie let out a helpless wheeze, eyes fearful hesitatingly Changbin scooted to his torso, holding down his hips. “Please…Channie hyung, go easy!”
Chan grinned, confidence regained, and his fingers descended happily onto Felix’s waist. Lixs reaction was immediate: his body arched off the floor, a burst of uncontrollable laughter spilling out of him.
“Gotcha~” Chan said smugly, his fingers moving with accuracy as he targeted Felix’s ribs.
Felix twisted and squirmed, his laughter growing louder and more desperate. “HYUHUHUHUHUNG!! THAHAHAHAHAT’S CHEEHHEHEHEATING!!”
“How?” Chan asks, digging deeper to hear the brownie boy squeal, his body arching a little bit unable to go far.
“Youhuhuhu knohohow that’s my wohohohOHOHORST SPOHOHOHOHOHOT!!” Felix howled, body bucking as he felt more fingers spider along his sensitive skin.
“Times up!” Changbin called, and Chan groaned.
“IHIHIHITS OKAHAHAHAAY!! Gohhohohoh on ihihihits fihihine!!” Felix squealed, wanting Chan to have as much time as he wanted to tickle the members until his ler mood was satisfied.
Chan smiled gently at that, continuing to tickle for about another minute with joy, loving the way his sunshine squirmed beneath him, laughing so happily at something so simple as some ticklish touches.
Chan finally leaned back, giving Felix a moment to catch his breath. Felix panted, his voice hoarse but still tinged with residual giggles.
Hyunjin and Seungmin finally released him, and Felix immediately curled into a ball, hugging his sides protectively.
Tumblr media
Hyunjin had been laughing way too hard during Felix’s ticklish ordeal. He’d been the first to volunteer to pin Felix’s arms, the loudest to chime in with teasing remarks, and the most smug about his role in the chaos.
So when Felix finally caught his breath, wiping away tears of laughter, he turned toward Hyunjin with a look that could only be described as pure vengeance.
“Come here!” He shouted, grabbing Hyune’s arms and dragging him to the center, much to the others’ delight as they pinned him down.
“No, no, NO!” Hyunjin shrieked, scrambling to his feet as Felix grabbed his arms to pin. The rest of the group erupted into cheers, their laughter filling the living room as Lixie tackled Hyunjin to the floor with surprising speed.
Hyunjin’s legs kicked wildly, but Chan was quick to sit on them, his grin smug as he held Hyunjin’s ankles down. “Oh, no, you’re not going anywhere,” Chan said, his tone playful as he grabbed at Hyunjin’s waist, motioning Lix to keep his arms steady as he dug deep into the boy’s armpits.
Hyunjin shrieked, laughter tumbling out of him as Chan’s thumbs massaged torturous circles into his sensitive skin, even slipping under his shirt to access the bare skin.
“NOHOHOHOHOHO NOHOHOHOT THEHEHEHEHERE!!” The ferret screamed dramatically, bucking up and down as Chan dug even deeper, grinning maniacally as Hyune squealed in response.
Hyunjin’s laughter was frantic now, unable to get enough air between the bursts of giggles. His feet twitched and jerked, but no matter how much he squirmed, Felix and Seungmin kept him firmly in place.
“YOUHUHU AHAHAHAALLL SUHUHUHUHUCK!!” The laughter that spilled from Hyunjin was near non-stop, and the sound was contagious. His whole body shook with helpless giggles, making it hard for him to catch his breath as Chan’s relentless poking continued at his armpits.
Changbin raised a single arm to signify the time completed, and Chan released the red faced boy instantly, laughing as Hyune practically scrambled to hide behind a very amused Jisung.
Hyunjin, still flushed with laughter and completely winded, shot them all a glare, though it was hard to stay mad when his grin was just as wide as everyone else’s.
Tumblr media
Changbin had been watching the chaos unfold with a mixture of amusement and caution. Being the self-proclaimed strongest member, he was confident that he wouldn’t fall victim to the tickle onslaught that had already claimed three of the members.
But when the others turned their attention to him, his confidence started to waver.
“No! Not me!” He stumbled backwards as five of the members began to approach to help Chan—Minho, Seungmin, Jisung, Hyunjin, and Felix.
“Careful boys,” Chan called out. “He won’t go down without a fight.” He proclaimed dramatically.
It ended up taking all seven of them to bring a wailing Changbin to the floor.
“NOOOOO!!” He cried out as each member sat on one of his limbs to finally pin him down, and he squeaked in fear as the leader sat triumphantly on his thighs.
“Ready, Binnie?~” Chan cooed, but he didn’t wait for an answer. He shot his hands to Changbin’s hips, and much to the poor boy’s horror, dug in deep with his thumbs.
“AAAHAHAHAHAHAA!! NOHOHOHOT THE HIPS, NOTTHEHIPS—AAHAHAHAHAHA!!”
Chan grinned in amusement as Changbin flopped around, laughing his head off as the leader targeted one of the worst spots on his body.
“Not so strong now, huh?” Minho crooned, laughing as Changbin let out an adorable snort of laughter before devolving into frantic cackles yet again.
“ENOUGH—EHEHEHEHENOUGHHHH!! IHIHIHU GIVE UHUHUHUHUP!!”
The timer rang faintly in the background, so Chan gave Binnie’s hips one last squeeze before letting the boy go, relishing in how red the rapper’s face had become, combined with how teary eyed he seemed.
Changbin groaned, burying his face in his hands. “I’m never living this down, am I?”
“Nope,” the others said in unison, laughing as they watched their strongest member reduced to a giggling, embarrassed mess.
Tumblr media
Jeongin had been watching from the sidelines with a mix of amusement and dread. Sure, he’d laughed along with the others as Seungmin, Felix, Hyunjin, and Changbin were respectfully reduced to ticklish messes, but the way everyone slowly turned their attention toward him made his stomach drop.
“No. Nope. Not happening,” Jeongin said, backing up quickly, his hands raised in a defensive gesture.
“Oh, it’s definitely happening,” Chan said, his smile far too innocent to be reassuring.
“You’ve been way too smug over there,” Seungmin added, cracking his knuckles as he stepped forward. “Time to see how well you can handle it, maknae.”
Innie darted a glance around the room, trying to find an escape route, but the others had already spread out, blocking any possible exit. “Guys, come on,” He said, his voice pitching slightly as he tried to reason with them. “I’m the youngest! You can’t do this to me!”
Felix snorted. “That’s exactly why we can do this to you.”
Before Jeongin could make a break for it, Hyunjin and Changbin lunged forward, grabbing him by the arms. Innie let out a startled yelp, thrashing wildly as they dragged him toward the center of the circle.
“NOO!!” He shrieked as high pitched as he could, causing one of the members to groan loudly in the background. Innie was very quickly shut up by the feeling of feathers gliding along his neck.
“WAHAIT!! Nohohohohobody sahahahaid toohohohohools!!” Jeongin squealed as Chan cooed, cupping the maknae’s chin with one hand and tilting his head up to expose his neck, grinning down at the youngest’s giggly expression while the others used whatever feathers they found, tracing and fluttering along his sensitive neck.
“I know, I know,” Chan pouted down at the maknae. “But you’re too cute not to use them on~”
Innie giggled, eyes tearing up as the tickles continued without an end in sight. More feathers fluttered along the shell of his ears, and Jeongin exploded into giggles, his face scrunching up as he squirmed helplessly.
“Oh, baby, I love you so much,” Chan smiled, brushing Innie’s hair out of his face. “You’re so cute~”
The timer rang loudly, disrupting the vibe, but Jeongin was too dazed to really care. The members made sure to slow to a stop, however.
“Look who’s so cute being tickled,” Jisung chuckled.
“Good, because you’re next, and boy am I not gonna let you off easy~” Chan laughed, and Jisung gulped hard.
Tumblr media
“This is a bad idea,” Jisung said quickly, his words tumbling over each other as he was dragged to the center. “You really don’t want to do this. I’ll scream. The neighbors will call the cops.”
“Let them,” Chan replied smoothly, kneeling beside him with a devilish grin. “We’ll just explain that our dear Han Jisung couldn’t handle a little tickling.”
Chan didn’t wait for him to finish. His hands dove straight for Jisung’s ribs, digging in with a devilish intent, and the effect was immediate.
“NOOHOHOHO!! AAAAAHHH!!” Jisung shrieked, his body jerking violently as he tried to escape the relentless fingers.
“Oh, he’s loud,” Felix noted with a grin, poking at Jisung’s sides to add to the chaos.
“I CAHAHAHANT HEHEHELP IHIHIHIT!!” Sung howled as Chan scribbled deep into the crevices.
“Reeeaallly had to go for the death spot, huh?” Minho winced as Sungie let out a particularly long scream of laughter.
“LET ME GO LET ME GO—AHAHAHAHAGH STAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAP!!” Jisung screeched, a laughing, flailing mess as Chan really used the tips of his fingers to taser at the skin.
“THEHEHEHE TIHIHIHIMERRR!!” Jisung wailed as a last resort, and the second Chan stopped, the sound of the ringing became clear.
“Whoops…sorry Sung,” Chan grinned sheepishly as everyone released the quokka’s limbs.
“You’re all…soho evil…” Sungie panted.
Tumblr media
Minho had been quietly observing the chaos from the corner of the room, his arms crossed and his face set in a neutral expression, though his sharp eyes betrayed a hint of amusement.
He’d been smart enough to stay out of the fray while everyone else fell victim one by one, but as the group’s focus began to shift in his direction, his confidence faltered.
“What about Minho hyung?” Jeongin said suddenly, an impish grin spreading across his face as he wiped at the tears still clinging to his cheeks. “He’s been awfully quiet over there.”
Minho’s eyes darted to the grinning maknae, and he was already planning exactly where he’s wreck him until the boy was a giggling, howling mess.
“Yes, I saved the best for last.” Chan grinned, cracking his knuckles. Minho felt a spike of nervousness spread through his system.
He let himself be dragged to the center. What? He was already gonna be wrecked anyway, might as well save the energy fighting to actially survive the wrecking.
Minho groaned as Jisung cleared his throat. “I have a very special announcement for you, Channie hyung.”
Minho shot his head up, pleading with his eyes to Jisung to not tell him. Don’t tell him. Please—
“Minho hyung has this really adorable habit of flapping his hand whenever he gets overwhelmed while being tickled.” Sungie blabbed joyfully.
Screw you, Han Jisung.
“Oh, really?” Chan smiled down at Minho, who frantically shook his head, biting his lip to seal his mouth closed as the leader directed the others to pull the dancer’s knees away from each other.
“Such ticklish thighs, aren’t they?”
Minho nearly screeched in response, and he’s never felt so much fear in one moment. Laughter exploded out of him the minute Chan’s hands clamped down on the firm muscle of his thighs.
“NOHOHOHOHOHOTT THEHEHEHEHEERE!!” Minho screeched as Chan squeezed, and the leader watched as Min’s fists clenched in a desperate attempt to alleviate the ticklish sensations. And to possibly hide that flapping of his.
Channie cooed, slipping his fingers under the capri pant leg to truly access that sensitive area right above Minho’s knee with his nails. The poor boy went absolutely ballistic, thrashing as laughter poured out of him endlessly.
Then it happened.
Minho’s fingers splayed free and his hands began to flap erratically in a desperate, frantic motion as he cackled in the background.
Chan felt his heart nearly explode with how much it swelled. “Awwww…you’re so cute, Minho-yah…”
Minho kicked his legs out, a mess of laughter and adorable squeals as his hands continued to flap in tiny, fluttering motions, fingers closing and opening in frantic desperation.
“IHIHIHIM NOHOHOHOT CUUHUHUHUHUTE!!” Minho wailed, tears spilling down his cheeks as Channie’s nails teased at his sensitive thighs, massaging circles deep into the firm skin and sending Minho into a screaming, thrashing frenzy of laughter.
The timer rang faintly, but Chan continued going until he was satisfied at how much he had tickled the fight out of Minho.
“That habit of yours,” Chan chuckled. “Cutest fucking thing ever.”
Minho blushed a deep red at the ears, shoving at Chan’s arm as he panted, gasping for air. “You’re welcome I didn’t put up a fight, dipshit,” Minho melted as Chan hugged him tight.

Fuzzy feelings, strange openings.

Words: 1,156 Note: I'm trying to shift back to writing normally again, so the requests ARE coming soon I'm so sorry for taking so long. T/w: MY AU LORE!!! this is based on my stray kids au, so if you're uncomfortable with that, please leave. Taglist: @reginald-stay09 @itzsana-kiddingmenow @hetashi-takashimaya @soap143 @jungwon-is-the-one @minnielvrr @skzdiary Lee: Know Ler: Jeongin
Tumblr media
"What you're feeling is normal, you should be allowed to feel it," Was what Jeongin had told Minho just a few days back when he alerted the youngest of his liking towards physical affection despite usually vehemently denying it, especially how he liked tickling. It was a simple concept, really. It made him laugh, and there were always new ways to plan a fruitful revenge, who wouldn't be excited by the thought of that? But what Lee Know hadn't realised, was how utterly embarrassing it was just to tell others about his newfound love for it, choking on his words that instead became an incoherent mess each time.
And that's where he was now, his head laying on Jeongin's lap while he stuttered every few seconds, the vocalist calmly waiting above him. There was no rush, but yet his heart couldn't stop pounding in his throat, toying with the strained fabric on the younger's knees, seeing the hairs stand up on their ends or how his leg would reflexively move up a little at the new feeling every once in a while. Feeling a hand running through his hair calmly, the bunny seemed to calm down a little more, fingers twitching against Jeongin's pants, forming the words that he tried so desperately to get out.
"But won't the others think I'm weird for my liking of...that?" Minho whispered, nearly choking up on his words from how fearful he was. It wasn't often that he felt like this, sick to his stomach, a slow and continuous churning that tempted him to throw up, despite having not eaten for a few hours by now. Everything was spinning, and he couldn't figure out why. A silhouette stood before him, kicking him right in the guts, making him curl up into himself, a pitiful ball of shame.
And it all went black.
"Hey, you awake?" Minho's eyes felt so heavy, boulders weighing onto his eyelids. He didn't want to open them anyway, but the spinning was gone from his head. He could feel something being pressed against his forehead; it sent a chilling cold down his spine. For a brief moment, everything was a blur, and then it cleared up as if it had never been there all along. It was Jeongin that sat on the side of his left eye, holding something up to his head, eyebrows creased in worry. Suddenly, he choked on his spit, sitting up when a hand thumped rhythmically against his back to help.
"You threw up just now, and came down with a bad fever after. I assume it was from the panic that you experienced. Are you feeling any better?" Ah. So that was what the kicking was. A part of him pondered how he managed to throw up without even moving a muscle; it shuddered him to think about vomiting all over the clean bed in front of him, although the smell of detergent did come out a little too strong for comfort. He looked up a tiny bit, seeing a wet cloth pasted onto his forehead, he had assumed it was Jeongin's hand at first too.
"A bit... I'm sorry for bothering you about this, it's so embarrassing-" Before he could even finish his sentence, he was cut off when the younger grabbed his sides, squeezing at the flesh tenderly. What was the meaning of this?! Was what Minho screamed in his head at the new profound sensation, falling back against the bed with a squeal that he didn't even know left his mouth. His cheeks puffed up to the size of puffer fishes, turning cherry in colour as he held back the giggles that threatened to leave his mouth.
"Don't apologise for something you can't control. I understand you, it's normal, and I'll take good care so you know it too." Minho could've sworn his entire face turned into a bright colour of crimson at Jeongin's words, his cheeks were on fire, at least that's what he thought. His eyes widened when fingers travelled to knead at his stomach, quiet, meek giggles slipping from his lips, weakly squirming and writhing against the bed. The tingles shot through his entire body, filling him with a sense of giddiness that made his head feel weak, his knees getting weak despite being on a bed.
"Plehehehease! It reheheally tickles!" Lee Know pleaded weakly, his mind was mush at this point. Jeongin's fingers were ever so gentle, so precise, running over his stomach with one hand while other traced tender patterns into the skin. Was it magic? Was he so experienced with this? He assumed it was the latter, his stomach practically blowing up with butterflies. When he made an attempt to curl in on himself, he was surprised to find Jeongin uncurling him like a metal strip, returning to his stomach like nothing happened.
"I cahahan't take it!" Minho whined, pawing at the younger's hand. Unfortunately for him, it only made Jeongin more heart warmed by the sight, determined to continue his plan of cheer up tickles till time ended, probably. Not that it mattered much, his 'pushes' felt like a kitten's paw, earning a coo from above his head, how embarrassing!
"I think you can take it just fine..." He hums, scribbling his finger suddenly above the elder's belly to pull the most adorable squeals and pleas from below him. It wasn't often that he was this vulnerable, laying absolutely still, and not trying to chop his fingers off for attempting any of this. Jeongin could tell the elder needed this as much as the next person, and he was glad to be that pillar of support until then.
"Nohoho! It's tohohorture!" He begs, and it's only then the maknae even considers relenting and giving the dancer some reprieve. I mean, if you saw how cute he looked, who would ever want to give him a break from the giggles? Despite all in him telling him not to pull his fingers away, give another playful tease or a soft-hearted compliment, Jeongin found himself stopping the tickles, feeling Lee Know's body get unbearably hot once again. Grabbing the wash cloth of his head, he silently dips it into the bucket below, before snickering when Minho wheezes out from the even colder feeling on his forehead.
"You did well today m'kay? Just know that we'll all be here for you when you get better and feel ready for opening up to something new like this. And stop getting sick too, I'm starting to think it's because you refuse to tell anyone but me about this..." Jeongin mutters. Although his tone sounded one of annoyance, Minho could see the corners of his mouth twitching upwards, his own lips curling into a wide smile. He was cared for, and the maknae never failed to make him see the light of his actions, a light at the end of his tunnel, his light.
...what was this feeling?

Chan could've sworn he was on his wits' end at this point. He had been incredibly stressed the entire day, and Changbin's existence could just be the bane of his problems. At first, they were just minor inconveniences, trivial little matters that the leader assumed didn't matter much. For example, when the younger refused to help poor Chan out with carrying his computer here and there, totally not leaving the part where the rapper ended up being his little helper for the rest of the day. Now? He was outright denying Chan of his 'Binnie cuddles', making the Aussie feel as if he was reaching the end of the world.
He has been trying to get Changbin into his grasp for the past one hour, just to be let down by clearly made up excuses and huge pouts, or simply having him walk in the opposite direction where the elder was heading to. It was infuriating! Or that's what Chan scoffed at Jisung, at least, unable to figure out a solution to his 100% world destroying problem at hand. Jisung gave a heavy sigh, rolling his eyes at the words the Aussie was rambling to him, even adding exaggerated gestures to show how much pain he was going through.
"Can't you just like, use that method you did in that one all-night Stray Kids thing?" The younger murmured, thinking nothing of his words, he was sure Chan would take it as a joke and not more than that.
"Jisung, I think that sometimes I don't give you enough credit. That's a genius idea!" He exclaims, making the ace deflate in his seat with absolute shock; he would've never guessed how desperate Chris was! He's brought back to the present when the Aussie shakes his shoulders, and seeing the stars that began to light up in his eyes, he didn't have the heart to let him know he was just fooling around.
Now, how exactly do you train a Changbin? There's just four simple methods! The first being: Provocation.
Walking out into the hallway, Chan tried his hardest to conceal the smug grin that threatened to take over his face, deliberately passing by Changbin while speaking awfully loudly to Seungmin, who had the unfortunate job of playing guinea pig just to help the leader out. Well, and maybe also to see Changbin's expressions, what a menance!
"Ah, Changbin can't even do something as simple as cuddling! I guess he really can't do anything after all..." Chan snickered, to which Seungmin whispered back seeing how the rapper immediately jumped out of his seat, looking behind him and staring holes into the backs of their shirts. It was clear that day that they already caught his attention; as according to plan.
"Seungmin, you're much better at cuddling than Changbin, aren't you~?" Chan cooed, making Seungmin bite back a groan of denial hearing what he had to agree to, but nodding nonetheless; trying to look as proud as he could. A second method of getting Changbin back: Comparison. Being the competitive, innocent soul he was, Changbin was no doubt feeling incredibly jealous, of course he was better at cuddling than some puppy, look at his arms; they're huge! And also the perfect size for a good hug.
"Changbin really isn't able to cuddle well, I bet he could never hug me as good as you, Minnie!" There came the third and fourth methods: Exaggeration and repetition. Changbin's fingers dug so deep into the couch he could've just torn the fabric right then and there, he couldn't stand hearing that Christopher would choose anyone over him to hold! Not able to hear the leader repeat over and over about how Changbin 'wasn't the best at cuddling', he practically leapt out of his seat, shoving Seungmin (gently) and taking his rightful place in Chan's arms. Showing a playful wink, the vocalist nodded in agreement with a chuckle, shoving his hands into his pockets before walking right out the door.
"Someone finally decided to come to me after so long, hm? Don't you think that deserves punishment?" The hair on Changbin's neck stood on its ends when he felt a warm breath brush against his skin, a soft caress yet with a dangerous undertone. With only a squeal of protest that barely made it past his lips, it soon turned into giggles and shrieks when hands scribbled over his sides, finding himself almost stuck with how tight the leader's arms were around him.
"Ehehe noho! I-I'm sohohorry!" The younger whined, but his words fell on deaf ears, soft laughter continuing to ring throughout the room, besides the creaking of the couch every once in a while whenever Changbin would jolt whenever the elder hit a particularly sensitive spot on his sides, taking special care to tweak it for a little while longer than the others.
"I don't think you're sorry... You denied me cuddles all day and apologise now when you get punished, I thought you were better than this, Bin-ah..." Chan feigned disappointment, tutting in disapproval at Changbin, who only responded with high pitched giggles. His hands soon wandered to his thighs, drumming onto the skin teasingly, pulling a panicked scream from on top of him. Try as he might, it was useless against the Aussie's determination, squeezing the chubby skin rapidly.
"WAHAHA! I-I'M SOHOHORRY!" Changbin pleaded, looking almost pitiful in his position on Chan's lap. He had nowhere to go, lifting his legs off the elder's lap, it tickled way too much, leaving him to just endure the tingles that shot through his body. It gave Chan a somewhat sadistic satisfaction, seeing his revenge served onto a silver spoon for him.
"Hm... I don't really believe you yet, how about you laugh a little more?" Yes, maybe he was being a little over the top. Yes, maybe he was being a little too mean as well, but when you see someone as muscle-built as Changbin turn into a hysteric mess over a few thigh squeezes, who wouldn't take advantage of that?
"PLEHEHEASE! I-IT'S TOHOHORTURE!" Chan always found it cute how Changbin would stammer through his laughter, especially when it came to his second sentence. Ignoring his completely hopeless pleas, he prodded his way into the younger's underarms, scribbling his nails quickly over the smooth surface and pulling a surprised squeal, and it wasn't long till booming cackles sounded yet again.
"NOHOHOT THEHEHERE! PLEHEHEASE I'M GOING TO DIEHEHE!" Changbin begged once again, clamping his arms to his sides in what was a trying attempt to block out the sensations that were frying his brain to no avail, tears of mirth welling up into his eyes. Seeing that he had hit his limit, the Aussie finally decided to give some reprieve, slithering his fingers away from the younger's underarms and watching the tears soak into his cheeks. He placed a kiss onto each one of them, letting himself giggle when he saw the skin flush under his affection.
Pulling Changbin into an actual hug, he brought them both down to the couch, embracing how warm (and huge) his arms were around his waist, scratching fingers into his scalp while another kneaded the nape of his neck. He internally cooed at the relieved and content sighs that left the rapper's lips, his eyes instantly lidding and snuggling his head into Chan's chest; he couldn't tell if it was because of his ministrations or the exhaustion, but he basked in it nonetheless.
And that was how you trained your Changbin.

The world almost stopped, time seemed to move a lot slower when the news left their lips. His fingers twitched, his entire body felt stiff, feeling like he was paralysed in place as the words sunk in. It couldn’t be, he had worked so hard to keep the group all together, and yet he had failed to keep them united as one. On instinct, his eyes began to widen, the group’s reaction one in the same. Everyone except Minho.
“Lee Minho is eliminated.”
Although he tried to keep his feelings concealed under the guise of pursed lips and narrowed eyes being the strong leader he was, he could feel his heart shattering into a million pieces at the news. He, who had failed to protect Minho, he who wasn’t able to keep his group as one, he who was an absolute failure of a leader. He could see it on Minho’s face too, the shock, the sorrow that began to slowly seep into his expression, the way his posture deflated ever so slightly when it all sank deep into his bones, clawing at him like a darkness from within.
“I’m sorry. I’m really sorry.” Chan whispered, repeating it like a mantra in the back of his mind. The feeling of knowing he wasn’t able to save one of his members from elimination nagged at him, a sucker punch to his gut entirely if he could put it in his own words. His arms shook silently while they wrapped around the younger’s body, and tugging him closer to feel his warmth for one last time. No matter how he tried to hide it, tears began to run down Minho’s cheeks, staring off into the background as they both squeezed each other close, as if when they let go they’d disappear from their grasp.
Sobs rang throughout the practice room, once so full of warmth now feeling so empty, as if everyone’s soul had been sucked from those four walls right in that moment. The door closed behind them, allowing them some alone time to fully understand what they had just lost. It hurts, it hurts, was all Chan could think, the words burning into his mind as he pulled Lee Know closer to him, if that was even possible at this point. So vulnerable, so open was what they were, everything else a blur besides each other’s embrace, the little safety they had from the cruel world around them.
And that was the last time Minho ever let someone named Christopher Bahng Chan hug him.
“Lino~ Just one hug, please?” The leader pleaded from across the hallway, pawing at the fabric of the dancer’s sweater in a needy manner, complaining that he was incredibly cold with the winter season coming up in Korea. With the same, usual nonchalant expression, he pinched the elder’s nose with a soft coo, his warm smile a contrast to the stern shaking of his head that told Chan a direct no.
“I’ll do anything for a hug!” Anything? Now that was a game that sounded much better than giving into whatever he was planning for during the hug. He gave a thoughtful glance into the Aussie’s direction, chuckling at the way his face lit up with joy, as if he thought his method of persuasion would actually work; it was honestly endearing.
“Anything you say? Then hold still.” Chan didn’t have time to even question what Minho meant by that, before nails gently scraped over his stomach, poking at his abs tenderly while another pinched around his navel tauntingly, a knowing smirk on his face; it wouldn’t be any fun if the leader actually managed to hold still, would it?
“Ehehe! N-Noho! Don’t tickle mehehe!” The poor leader whined, struggling to stay even the tiniest bit still, it was a given with his nature. His hands pushed at the ones going rounds in his stomach, but it was ultimately futile, doing absolutely nothing. If anything, Minho would rather say it felt like kitten paws against his hands, so cute!
“Don’t? But you said anything, don’t go back on your word now~” He cooed, a breath ghosting the Aussie’s ears, snickering when they turned a bright red from the obvious tease. Chan could’ve sworn his soul just left his body.
“I cahahan’t tahahake it! Plehehease!” He pleaded, eventually falling to the ground like a puppy, Minho leaning over him before scribbling both his hands onto the vulnerable stomach right in front of him, a deadpan expression while he watched Chan shriek in surprise, before curling in onto himself; just. Like. A. Puppy.
“That’s too bad, you asked for this.” He tutted in faux disapproval, secretly concealing the wide smile he was holding back, it was going to make his cheeks hurt if he continued like this. But how could he not? Chan was the epitome of cute, his two dimples on display as his cheeks were a crimson red, his eyes crinkled into crescents with his hair messily sprawled over his face, what wasn’t to like?
“I’m sohohohorry! Noho!” The poor puppy- leader, whined, still kicking his feet like a little child would whenever they’re helpless, before deflating like a balloon when the younger finally let up on his stomach, unable to do anything but catch his breath. Without another word, Minho pulled Chan into a hug, one full of warmth, his fingers finding his waist and tenderly wrapping themselves around him.
The room had gone quiet yet again, but it wasn’t of the tension this time, now full of love that could be felt within the four walls of the practice room. Without knowing, tears unconsciously welled up in Minho’s eyes all over again, despite whatever tough personality he tried to put on, he could never keep it up whenever he was with his only Hyung. Sensing his emotional vulnerability, the elder tugged him closer, rubbing soothing circles on his lower back as his chin rested atop Lee Know’s shoulder, embracing who they truly were behind closed doors.
It was then Minho really understood the warmth of a hug.

Sana week! 5 days to Sana's birthday.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For: @itzsana-kiddingmenow, titled: 'Practice it yourself!' Words: 1088 Note: I tried SO LONG to find the exact moment I was talking about here but I couldn't. Anyways, it's almost been a month since I've written anything, sorry for the inactivity and lack of finishing any requests...
T/w: Slight pinning, rough tickles Taglist: @reginald-stay09 @itzsana-kiddingmenow @hetashi-takashimaya @soap143 @jungwon-is-the-one @minnielvrr @skzdiary Lee: Jisung, a bit of Minho Ler: Minho, a bit of Jisung
Tumblr media
“How about we go over that second verse again?” Jisung mutters, his legs automatically moving to the groove that was stuck in his brain for the time being. His hand ran through his messy hair, some of it covering his eyebrows too. Poor Jisung had been having trouble memorising the second verse of S-class, struggling on his own while the others got along with the choreography perfectly fine.
“Go and learn it yourself then.” Minho announces calmly, copying Jisung’s actions and ruffling up his own hair, a smile widening on his face almost in a nonchalant way. Jisung’s eyes could only widen in shock at what he was hearing, standing alone as he shrank into himself timidly, hearing the members laughing their heads off in the background. With a loud groan, he clung onto the elder, giving him huge puppy eyes while his arms squished the dancer closer to him, pulling them both down like he was a pit of quicksand. Even when Minho shoved at the head that was pressed against his thigh, it still didn’t deter the quokka from making them both lay down, Han pressed on top of the elder like a weight.
“Now you have no choice but to teach me!” The younger huffed, ignoring the fact that Lee Know was letting out strained groans and mumbling every curse in the book, arms coming around to poke along the bunny’s side teasingly, a knowing grin spreading across his face. He was thrilled to see Minho’s face beginning to contort into a smile of his own, digging his fingers into his side gently while humming a tune; he knew the elder would never be able to resist his charm, no matter what.
“Yohou brat…you behehetter stop..” Minho hisses, but finds himself trapped under Jisung’s weight anyway, tiny snickers beginning to leave his lips at the tingling sensation on his side. His cheeks puff up in an attempt to hold his laughter back, the younger letting out his own peals of laughter when the pair of thighs began to tremble and shake under him, vibrating partially onto his stomach. The practice room was left empty, no one able to save the poor bunny after a sighing leader ushered the rest out of the room for a ‘break’ to not disturb said duo.
“I won’t stop until you teach me that damned choreography hyung!” Sure, maybe he did sound just a tiny bit too whiny to be considered normal. Sure, maybe he sounded like a petulant child that was denied a toy at the store during grocery shopping. Despite all above that may come across as the most embarrassing thing ever, it was rare that either of them ever let their guards down. But now that they were together, it felt so easy to do what wouldn’t be considered a norm, nothing able to hold them back now.
“Then you can suffer the consequences instead!” Minho barked, before shoving his nimble fingers, that were once so very useless and laying limp against his sides, to park themselves snugly into the younger’s underarms. They were unmoving, but instantly, Han was quick to retract his hands with an ungodly high-pitched scream, pleas for mercy immediately leaving his mouth as fast as lightning; it was almost as if he wasn’t pouting and trying to tickle the Lee Minho to get his way just a few moments ago.
“Hyung hyuhuhung please I’m sorry!” The pitiful quokka babbled, anxious giggles spilling from his lips when he felt his body instinctively backing away, almost shrinking into himself. He shrieked loudly when his back hit the wooden floor, shaking his head in desperation when he spotted the usual Cheshire grin on Minho’s face, it was as clear as day he was planning something. What was it? He didn’t know at all. And he dreaded trying to even find out.
The elder remained silent, his fingers tenderly swiping up and down the ace’s underarms, biting back the urge to mischievously snicker at the squeals and giggles he got from the tiny action. He was barely doing anything, but each swipe felt like another electric shock up his spine, the anticipation building up so painful that it was almost humiliating. Han Jisung, youngest member of KOMCA, known as the fourth generation ace, was brought down by a few swipes to his armpits. He could only feel his cheeks heating up at the thoughts that ran through his mind, and worst of all? Lee Know hadn’t said a word, leaving it to simply be Han’s thoughts spiralling him into absolute madness; and he wouldn’t be all that surprised if the bunny already predicted this would happen.
“Plehehease it’s torture- WAHAHA! HYUHUHUNG!” Jisung squealed when Minho finally dug his fingers deep into the younger’s underarms, one hand kneading deep circles into the sensitive flesh while the other practically vibrated in the centre of the plushy flesh. One could only pray for Han’s life afterwards, echoes of booming hysterics sounding through the practice room walls; a mixture of consequences from his own overactive imagination and the anticipation of what was already coming. He couldn’t decide which was worse, both of the rough sensations frying his brain completely as he threw his head back with cackles.
“Ah see? I fixed it.” Minho dryly comments, like he had solved all of Jisung’s problems with whatever he was doing right now; a word that Jisung liked to call: Inhumane torture being inflicted onto his fragile and suffering body. No matter how much the younger kicked, even landing a few tiny ones onto Lee Know’s stomach, who simply just chuckled at the feeling as if it was a normal thing to be experiencing, the fingers wouldn’t even budge an inch, arching his back in a futile attempt to relieve the sensations.
“NOHOHO MORE! I CAHAHAN’T!” Han practically screamed, deflating akin to a popped balloon when Minho finally relented, albeit a bit reluctantly. That was a shocker, considering that tears of mirth haven’t even welled up in his eyes yet. He let out a shocked yelp when the dancer gently pulled him up and into his arms, a nose burying itself into his hair and getting a whiff of the pine shampoo that came with. Although they were both on the hard wooden floor of the room, neither of them found it uncomfortable, saying nothing about the tickle fight, or the playful banter, simply basking in each other’s presence.
And yes, Jisung did end up learning the choreography on his own anyway.

Cold was the only word on Chris’ mind as he woke from his nap in the green room. The group was doing an early-morning promotion, and Chris had gotten far less sleep the previous night than he would have liked. But how could he have gotten any sleep in this city? How could he have gotten any sleep knowing that he’s in the same city as her?
Every day of the past year, Chris had been doing nothing more than simply going through the motions. Every moment felt like it was draped in a haze, his life that was once clear and bright now felt blurred and dull. Chris’ whole being was constantly consumed by the guilt of knowing that she was out there, thinking about him.
He’d never intended for it to go as far as it did. When he first messaged her, he’d just recently been broken up with, and was trying to work through those emotions through the creation of a new album. The cover of the album was supposed to be symbolic, a visual representation of him letting his former lover go. How could he have expected to fall in love with the person he paid to depict it?
Even after his company had told him that they didn’t approve the artist, that she was a liability, that she could damage his career, he still held on. He didn’t tell her until it was too late. And that selfish action was enough to ruin not just himself, but also his younger brothers who’d grown to care for her like family, His best friend Hyunjin who loved her the same as Chris. But the worst part of it was that he knew it had ruined her the most.
Chris tried to tell himself that his feelings for her were just a fluke, that he was just lonely or desperate or something. That he’d get over her eventually. But how could that be true when a whole year later, she was still the only thing on his mind?
Chris went throughout his day as mindlessly as he usually did, wordlessly letting the stylists fix him up, bringing life back into his face that had slightly sunken and paled over the past twelve months. He gave polite smiles to the staff, answered interview questions as intelligently as his dazed brain could, and tried his best to be a good leader to his brothers- an area he felt he’d been trying to improve in lately.
After she left, Chris’ relationship with his entire group had been strained. His actions had tainted the smart, strong, caring older brother image that they’d had of him in their minds, and he was doing all he could to restore it. Oddly enough, his relationship with Hyunjin had improved greatly after the events of the previous year. They had a certain understanding of each other's actions that the others simply couldn’t see.
The younger members had slowly come back around to Chris- Jeongin slowest of all. Jeongin arguably had the closest relationship with The Artist, and Chris’ selfishness had hurt him so badly, Chris wasn’t sure that their relationship would recover.
And yet, slowly but surely, Jeongin came back around to him. In fact, Jeongin had been on Chris’ tail all morning long. Over the twelve hours that the group was on set, Jeongin had been by Chris’ side for roughly eleven of those hours. The two were planning on going to some cafe that Jeongin had recommended after the long day of promotions. If Chris were to tell the truth, he’d say that he was much too tired to go anywhere after promotions. He wanted a nap. SO badly. But fixing his strained relationship with Jeongin took precedence over his already suffering sleep schedule.
“You ready to go?” Jeongin peeked his head into the green room as Chris slowly rose from his seat, groaning and stretching his aching limbs. “Good thing we’re going to a cafe. You look like you could use some coffee.” Jeongin giggled as Chris followed him out of the small room and into the hallway. Chris nodded along, rubbing his eyes and letting the younger man lead him towards the front door, silently thanking him with a nod as Jeongin handed him a mask, immediately placing it over his face before they exited the building.
Chris stared out the window from the backseat of one of the staff members' cars, absently wondering if she was sitting in one of the dozens of cars they sped past. Chris didn’t know what he’d do if he saw her. Maybe he’d turn and run the other direction, maybe he’d immediately call his management to tell them that he’s quitting to run away with her. Or maybe he’d just stand there like an idiot.
The events of the past year had sparked a lot of conversation between the staff and members of the group, especially with their contract renewal coming up in just a few weeks. No one wanted another “Artist situation” as the staff were calling it. Chris didn’t know what they were thinking. Whether it be changing their contract to allow dating, or putting them on an even stricter ban, he didn’t much care. He genuinely didn’t know if he’d be able to find it in him to love anyone else for a long time.
On the other side of the car, Jeongin was practically vibrating with excitement as he stared at his phone, scrolling through the DMs he’d sent to his favorite person. He quietly giggled to himself as he opened his navigator app and saw that they were a mere ten minutes from reuniting with the person that had consumed their every waking moment of the past year.
“What are you laughing at?”
Jeongin reflexively shoved his phone in his pocket, folding his hands on his lap before looking up at his older brother in what he hoped was a very non-suspicious way. “...Nothing. Jisung texted me something.”
“Of course.” Chris chuckled, leaning his head against the window again. “What did he say this time?”
“Uh…” Jeongin took his phone out of his pocket, pretending to scroll through his texts for a moment while he attempted to think of something that could have come from Jisung’s foul mouth. “Something about…sucking dick?”
Jeongin saw Chris nod from the corner of his eye, sighing internally that he hadn’t seemed to pick up on what was happening yet.
The truth was, Chris had noticed Jeongin acting weird- Hyunjin too, for that matter. He figured it was just the time of year. It was just after the one-year anniversary of her leaving, and everyone had been dealing with it in their own way.
Minutes later, the staff member in the driver's seat pulled to the sidewalk and informed the two that they had arrived. They thanked the driver and stepped out of the car, looking around and taking in the sight of all the boujee boutiques, cafes, and bakeries on the downtown street.
“Is this it?” Chris pointed just down the street to one of the cuter shops of the street; a quaint little cafe/bookstore combo with numerous plants in the window and comfy looking seats inside. Jeongin nodded with a lopsided grin plastered on his face. The two started towards the cafe before Jeongin stopped in his tracks, smacking his forehead with his palm and exclaiming,
“Ohh wait a second!”
Chris turned to his younger friend, quirking an eyebrow at him as Jeongin looked down the street behind him. “What?”
“I forgot that I need to grab…a thing…from a store. You go ahead and order, I’ll be right back! Get me a peppermint frappuccino!” Jeongin called to Chris as he ran back down the street the way they came, leaving Chris absolutely dumbfounded at his friend's sudden exit.
Chris sighed and ran a hand through his hair, looking in the direction Jeongin ran, and back over his shoulder to the cafe, mentally debating on whether to chase after his mischievous friend or to just go into the cafe and order an americano before he fainted in the middle of the sidewalk.
After little mental debate, he decided on the latter. The inside of the cafe was just as charming as the outside, comfortable mismatched heavily-cushioned seats surrounded several dark brown tables. Tall bookshelves adorned every wall, with paintings made by local artists filling any gaps left by the shelves.
There was a fairly long line stemming from the coffee bar in the back of the shop, Chris noticed as he stopped behind a girl with unnaturally colored hair that the menu didn’t have Jeongin’s requested order. He figured he’d just order a hot chocolate with a peppermint espresso shot.
The line was moving slowly, even though people sat down to claim a table after they ordered, it felt like the line wasn’t progressing at all. Chris glanced around the shop again and at all the different patrons scattered around. It seemed to be a hot spot for the local hipsters. As Chris’ gaze danced over all the different people in line, his eyes were quickly drawn to the keychain on the bag of the girl in front of him.
When Hyunjin had taken her to the art museum back in Seoul, she’d gotten one that looked exactly like it. She said it was her favorite thing that she’d bought during her whole trip. Chris hadn’t realized the line had moved on without him until the person behind him tapped him on the shoulder and asked him to move forward.
Before he knew it, it was the girl with the colored hair’s turn to order. Apparently, she needed a moment as she stood in silence for a moment, looking up at the menu behind the counter, much to the chagrin of the barista at the register.
“Could I please get a lavender oat milk latte?”
It felt like Chris had been decked in the face with a bag of cinder blocks as she spoke.
Any and all thoughts had immediately abandoned his mind as the barista rang her up and she thanked the worker in the sweet tone that Chris knew all too well.
Chris’s heart ached at the sweet smile on her face as she turned around. However, the smile quickly faded as she saw the man that had been standing behind her. The two stood in equally stunned silence as they took each other in. Chris’ eyes trailed down The Artist’s frame, quickly taking in the fact that she was paler and thinner than he’d remembered. The Artist noticed the same about him.
“Excuse me, you two are holding up the line.” The barista spoke from behind the counter, her annoyed tone prompting The Artist to turn around and flash her an apologetic smile, and gently place her hand on Chris’ bicep, leading him out of the line.
Chris’ eyes didn’t leave her face as she was looking seemingly anywhere but him. She cleared her throat nervously, Chris’ eyes burning into her face.
“Do you wanna sit down?”
Chris nodded before she silently led him to the table for two by the front window, placing her bag over the back of one of the seats and sitting down, folding her hands on top of the table.
Chris sat across from her, and the two sat in silence.
Chris could hear her shaky uneven breaths, and noticed her folded hands shaking on the table. It took everything in his to not reach over and hold them in his own.
“I saw the painting.”
Her eyes glanced up to meet his as he spoke, but she looked away as quickly as their eyes met. “I was hoping you had.”
Another bout of silence.
“So…” Chris sighed, running a hand through his hair before mirroring her position and folding his hands on the table, his fingers mere centimeters from hers. “What are you doing here?”
“Well…I was supposed to meet a potential client.” She was a lot quieter than Chris remembered.
“That could’ve been dangerous.”
“Yeah, well…I haven’t been out much lately. Figured this would be a good opportunity.”
More silence followed her statement, the pit of guilt in Chris’ stomach clawing at him from the inside. Her reasoning for being here, her visibly sunken appearance, her hair…
“You changed your hair.” She looked up at him again, her eyes remaining on his this time as she reached up instinctively to touch the colored locks, a small smile gracing her face.
“Oh yeah…Just trying something out, I guess.”
“I like it.”
The smile quickly dropped from her face at Chris’ words, her eyes looking down at her lap once more. Chris sighed and leaned back in his seat. What the hell should he say? ‘I’m sorry’? ‘I still love you’? ‘Let’s run away together’? Although he sincerely felt every one of those statements, none of them could express how he felt. None of those would make up for the pain and sadness that he’d inflicted on her, himself, and those closest to him. He was stuck. This has to be hell.
“So, is your company not as fucked up anymore, or are you breaking the rules just by sitting here right now?”
Her words caused an unprompted laugh to escape Chris’ mouth. He shook his head and ran a hand over his face, taking a steadying breath before looking back at the woman across from him. She was still so pretty.
“No, I probably shouldn’t be here right now. Jeongin and I were just going to get a cup of coffee and-” Jeongin. Of course he did. “That little fucker” Chris sighed, looking out the window for any sign of the scheming young man.
The Artist across from him stared in confusion, “Jeongin? Where is he?”
“He…went to grab something before coming here. I don’t know. We’re here for a schedule and probably forgot something at home.”
“Chris…are we just not going to talk about-”
“Let’s just leave.”
“...What?” She stared at him completely dumbfounded by his words, his eyes staring intently into hers, completely unwavering.
“Let’s go.” He repeated softly, reaching his hands over to grab her own. “I can’t do this anymore. You have no idea how badly I missed you. You’re the first thing I think about when I wake up and the last thing I think of before I fall asleep. I have spent every minute of every day regretting the fact that I didn’t fight for you. The regret of putting my career and my company before you has been eating me alive. I thought I could get over it, but I can’t. Seeing you again made me realize that. So let’s just leave.”
“Chris, you can’t do that to the kids.”
“We’ll take them with us. All of us can just live together in a secluded cabin somewhere.”
“You know we can’t do that. I know you know we can’t.”
Chris sighed and ran his thumbs over her knuckles, her bright pink nail polish peeking through the gaps of his hand. “I know. I just can’t say goodbye again.”
“Chris, I love you. I could never stop loving you. I just don’t know what to do.” Chris’ hands left at the Artist’s words. His eyes hadn’t left hers since he started speaking, and he’d noticed the tears starting to well in the corners.
“I’m supposed to be renewing my contract soon. I’ll tell them…I’ll convince them to let this happen. I don’t give a fuck about the company anymore. I can live without them. I can just start over. But I can’t live without you and start over with someone else.”
“God, Chris, I want nothing more than to be with you. But the last thing I ever wanted was for me to hold you back in any way.” She took a deep breath, wiping the tears away from her eyes. She opened her mouth to continue, but the two were startled out of their seats by a loud pounding on the window next to them. They turned to see the source of the noise, and saw Jeongin pressed against the window, waving excitedly. As soon as he was sure the two saw him, he immediately ran into the shop and made a beeline for The Artist, giving her a tight hug that nearly knocked her out of her seat.
“I missed you so much.” The boy cried as she stood up to return his hug properly, neither of them caring about the other patrons of the cafe side-eyeing them.
“I knew it was you.” Her voice cracked as her arms tightened around him, not minding the feeling of his shoulders shaking with his sobs, or the warm tears on her shoulder as he pressed his face into her neck.
Chris watched with a sad smile on his face as he watched the two embrace. Eventually, Jeongin pulled away from The Artist and turned to Chris, stretching his arm out, prompting Chris to wrap his arms around the two people who meant the most to him. His whole world.
“We’ll make it work.” Chris sighed as he pressed his lips into The Artist’s hair. “We can’t lose you.”
ONE YEAR LATER…
“Chan! Where’s my suitcase?” Jeongin called out from the living room, the sound of him stomping around the room was clear even where Chris stood in the kitchen.
“Minho put all the suitcases in the foyer.” Chris replied as he rushed to finish packing the bag of snacks from home for their long journey.
“Chan! Do you have an extra tote bag?” Felix asked as he passed through the kitchen.
“I think in the laundry room.”
“I don’t know where that is! Why the hell did you have to move into this giant house?”
“Because, they’re leaving room for growth. Chan and Art Babe go at it like, 24/7. They’re gonna end up with twelve kids by the time they’re forty. Surprised they haven't made an announcement yet. Laundry room is all the way down the hall and to the left, by the way.” Jisung mused as he strolled in, taking an apple from the fruit bowl.
“Shut up, Jisung!” Hyunjin yelled from the top of the staircase.
“I’m home!” A voice called from the foyer, prompting Chris’ head to pop up like a meerkat. Felix and Jisung rolled their eyes affectionately at their older brothers’ demeanor before Felix went to find the laundry room.
“Speak of the devil.” Jisung grinned, taking a large bite of apple as she entered the room, placing the grocery bags that adorned her arms on the counter, rolling her eyes at her friend.
“I don’t wanna know.” She sighed and she walked around the counter, placing a kiss to Chris’ cheek before washing her hands. “You guys heading to the airport soon?”
“Yeah, in about ten minutes, as long as everyone can find their stuff in time.” He ran his hand across her lower back as he passed her on his way to the pantry.
“Alright, I’m gonna go wait in the foyer just in case you two decide to start banging on the counter.” Jisung pulled a faux-disgusted face at the two, tossing his finished apple in the garbage and promptly making his exit.
“He loves us, really.” The Artist sighed as she dried her hands. Chris hummed in agreement and he shoved the last few items in the bag and zipped it up. “Oh!” She exclaimed, rushing to the fridge, taking out eight small tupperware and sorting them out on the counter. “I made meals for you all to eat on the plane. I know it’s not a long flight, but I know the kids all hate that airline’s food, so I figured they’d appreciate it.”
Chris smiled softly as his lover as she spoke enthusiastically about the individual meals that she’d prepared for their friends, the diamond on her left hand shimmering in the light. They’d been living together for six months now, and had been cherishing every second of it. Chris was thankful for every second that he got to spend with her. Just ten months ago, he had fought his company tooth and nail for his and his members rights to their own privacy. With the majority of their staff backing them and the fact that they’d all agreed to not renew their contracts if the company didn’t agree, there was nothing left for them to do.
After they’d successfully gotten their conditions written into their contract, Chris and his Artist were finally free to love each other as they always had. She moved into an apartment in Seoul a few months later, and not long after that, she and Chris bought their first house together. Just a week after that, Chris proposed. After a year of being apart, they realized that they didn’t want to waste a single second.
“Chan! The van’s here!” Changbin poked his head into the kitchen, giving a little wave to The Artist.
“Hey! Tell everyone to come in here and grab their dinner.” She addressed Changbin, who immediately nodded and gave her a little salute before turning and relaying the message to the others. She turned to her fiance, who was leaning on the counter, his eyes still on her. She leaned over the counter and gave him a soft kiss, bringing her hand up to run her hands through his curls that he’d been taking such great care of lately. “You’ll make sure they get their dinners into their carry-ons?”
“Of course.” He whispered against her lips, pressing a short kiss to them before pulling away and grabbing the tupperware marked with his name.
All at once, the seven other men in the house stormed into the kitchen like a stampede. One-by-one, they grabbed their dinners and hugged The Artist, bidding her goodbye and telling her they loved her before rushing out of the house and into the van that awaited them outside.
“I put the brushes I borrowed back into your art room, and I noticed you had some brushes soaking, so I put them on the mat to dry.” Hyunjin, who was the last to leave, informed The Artist and they embraced.
“I appreciate you. See you when you get back.” She patted his back and smiled sweetly at him as they pulled back. He returned the smile and turned to leave, giving her one last wave over his shoulder before exiting the home.
Chris waited before he heard the front door close before walking around the counter to his lover and pulling her in for a tight hug, his hands holding her close as his lips pressed into her hair, breathing in her scent before he had to leave. “I love you so much, my beautiful girl.”
She pulled back slightly to look him in the eyes, smiling at him, her gaze filled with nothing but adoration. She leaned in once more to give him another lingering kiss, making sure she wouldn’t forget the taste of his lips anytime soon. “I love you, too. My beautiful man.”
“I’ll see you in a few weeks.” His hands went down to her own, holding them gently, his thumb running over the beautiful rock on her finger.
“Go have fun. Keep an eye on those kids.”
He chuckled and pressed his lips to her cheek quickly, grabbing the tupperware back off the counter. “You know I will. I love you.”
“I love you. Now get out of my house.” She gave his back a light push and followed him to the front door as he giggled.
“Hey.” He turned around, his hand on the door handle. “It’s our house.”
She couldn’t resist pecking him once more as he opened the front door. “Our house.”
He gave her a look that could only be described as pure love before turning and rushing towards the van. She stood out on the front porch, seeing the boys in the van waving at her through the window as the van pulled away from the sidewalk and drove off.
Her heart didn’t ache as the van drove out of sight. Because she knew that they would come back. That she’d never have to truly be without them again. Because they were family. And no one could take that away.
