Interpretation level one: Apollo is Klavier's bi awakening.

Interpretation level two: Actually, what Klavier is saying here is that this is the first time he has caught a man leering at him like one of his female fans. Klavier is calling out Apollo for checking him out.

Interpretation level three: Klavier is an incredibly intelligent man. He returned to law, by his own admission, because he wanted to meet the attorney who put his brother behind bars. He knows EXACTLY who Apollo is and why he's staring at him. However, he's also the kind of person who plays his cards very close to his chest. At this point, he doesn't know if Apollo can be trusted, and so he doesn't want to confront him outright about his brother's trial or Apollo's connection to Phoenix Wright. He does, however, want to at least hint that he knows exactly who he is while maintaining some degree of plausible deniability. As such, Klavier dons the celebrity persona like a disguise and teases Apollo for staring.

on the one hand, i fully agree that it's a bit of a pity how phoenix and apollo tried to let go of the extremely complicated and multi-layered dynamics they had in aa4 in favor of a plain mentor-mentee relationship in aa5, but also, GET THIS. would it have hit as Hard to see phoenix suddenly reverting to being the shadiest bitch without a single warning in the paul atishon case, thereby revealing that he still had it in him all along, that the mentor attitude was all intentional, if they HADNT?? i dont think so

paul atishon drives me completely crazy precisely because phoenix pulls out the inner bitch, revealing that he is CAPABLE OF IT STILL that all the niceties are a conscious choice, and THAT is what reveals to me that Normal simply isn't possible for them in the long run. even if they try, the universe will make sure they fire sparks at each other again and i think that is poetic cinema
