DIFFERENT By: Liza Faye Imagine yourself socializing with different people but with the same interest, except yours. You don't like their music taste, their fashion and on many things. But you are afraid to be left all alone and they might reject you. You think the only choice you have is to just pretend and wear a mask so that you'll still be part of the circle. That's not the right thing to do. Why would you even let yourself be in a group where you definitely don't belong. Being different isn't bad. If they dont like you, let them. If they can't accept you for who you truly is, leave them. You are not born in this world to fit in eventhough you don't really fit. You don't belong there, so why push? Nothing's wrong with being alone. Eat alone, shop alone, treat yourself, do all the things that you love, all alone. That's never a problem. You don't need to please everyone. For as long as you knew you are not stepping unto someone's dignity, then go and be happy. People tend to judge you and say bad things on you, but why would you care? They are not your obligation. Continue listening to your favorite music, support your idols, eat your favorite food, wear whatever you want and most especially, never mind those judgmental hypocrites who'll throw different opinions about you. They don't matter anyway. Be you. Be proud. Be different.

I have never liked those songs in the bars or the songs in everyone's playlists. I have never played those songs my friends told me to listen ir those songs in my recommendations box. Somehow, when I listen to them, I feel my heart beat a little tad faster and my thoughts going off like a bomb thrown during a bloodful war. Everytime I hear the songs written by other people or the songs sewn from others' lips, I feel my soul crumble a little inside. Everytime I listen to them, my fingers slip a little bit from my hold to you. The strings I kept & tied in every corner of my bones unshackles gradually everytime I hear them sing. The puzzles I answered to kept you close gets messed up a little bit every single time. Somehow, I couldn't open up to anyone or any song, because then, I fear, I would lose you.

I would lose the hymns that came from your lips, or the poems you recited in my ears. I fear that the lyrics we both wrote would dissipate away, or the little illustrations we drew in the halls of my room would fade away. I lost you once when you gave up your body to them, When you pulled the trigger of the gun & pointed it into your head, When you stopped from writing songa nor chanting your mom's folklores & poems.I lost you when you died That's why I promise not to lose you again. I will never listen to other people's mouths nor the whispers of their souls, because then I would forget you. I am yours and you are mine. You are my only song. You will always be.

The simplicity of your being, The beauty of your soul, Showed me the sincerity in this life. The kindness of your heart, The integrity of your words, Showed me that truth exists in this chaotic world.The patience you show, The trust you build, Showed me the importance of our friendship.The care you render, The love you share, Showed me the worth of my existence.How this touched my soul, How this made me a better person, Made me realize that there is magic when you believe.
