30 days of prayer...more Holy Spirit::week 4
By Heather Kreiser
DAY 22
Father in heaven, sometimes I feel so weak spiritually, and I need your help to interpret my heart. I welcome your Holy Spirit to intercede for me because you know the deep groanings of my own spirit and the longing I have to experience your presence and to manifest your power and love to the world. Thank you for being ever faithful so that I can always lean on your strength because you never fail me, you will never leave or forsake me in my vulnerability!
(“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Romans 8:26)
DAY 23
Holy Spirit- I welcome your kingdom joy to overflow in me today as the evidence of your presence. Thank you for filling me with all joy and peace by your power and that I do not have to stir up joy as an emotion, but you give it freely here on earth as it abounds in heaven. I choose joy today in Jesus’ name- Amen!
(...for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” Romans 14:17)
(“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13)
DAY 24
Father in heaven, I ask for more of you for myself and for my brothers and sisters committed to sharing the gospel. I ask for more love of your Spirit to fill us with encouragement, supernatural wisdom and power to fight back the darkness and even the complacency that tempts us to live for ourselves rather than risk comfort to proclaim the goodness and power of the gospel of Christ.
(“Now I beg you, brethren, through the Lord Jesus Christ, and through the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in prayers to God for me...” Romans 15:30)
DAY 25
Holy Spirit, fill me with words that are true and inspired by you in my daily life! Teach me to discern and listen to your voice over than my own or others. Fill me with humility to allow full demonstration of your Spirit and power rather than choosing the right words to impress people. Filling me is about you and bringing you glory in Jesus’s name, Amen!
(“And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power...” I Corin. 2:4)
DAY 26
Father in heaven, thank you for revealing the deep things of your heart to your children. Holy Spirit, attune my mind and heart to you as you reveal spiritual truths to me. Allow my mind to understand you and your ways and allow my heart to overflow with more love for you and others. For the glory of Jesus, Amen.
(“But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.” I Corin. 2:10)
(“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.” I Corin. 2:12)
DAY 27
Father, I praise you for being concerned with ALL of me, not just my spirit. I acknowledge that you have created my whole self to be set apart as holy for you and for the advancement of your kingdom. Thank you for not just teaching me about you, but for making my very body your dwelling, your temple. Fill me with self-control to pursue healthy habits and to reject unhealthy foods, relationships and media. Fill me Holy Spirit anew today in Jesus’ powerful name, Amen!
(“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” I Corin. 3:16)
DAY 28
Spirit of God, I invite you to reveal yourself and your power in unique ways through me with spiritual gifts. I am open to them all and especially prophesy so that I may bless others with encouragement and warning. Mature me in the spiritual gifts and as I grow, continue to strengthen humility and keep pride far from me. I trust you and thank you for your gifts as evidence of your love and power to people in my sphere of influence. In the name of Jesus- Amen.
(“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all...” I Corin. 12:7)
DAY 29
Abba, Daddy- I belong to you and your Spirit is in me! Thank you for opening new doors of freedom in the deep places of my mind, heart and body. Thank you that wherever I go today- work, school, play, with friends or even among enemies- Your Spirit is present and there is freedom in the atmosphere. I reject every lie from the enemy that denies the truth that You are the only way to freedom as found in your word. Holy Spirit, you define what true freedom is... you define what is true and real regardless of my emotions or what the culture around me says. I receive your freedom and live in it today. For your glory, Jesus. Amen.
(Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” 2 Corin. 3:17)
DAY 30
Lord, I bless Your name today. You are creator and sustainer of life and Your plan is the best! I confess that I allow myself to be distracted by the wealth and ways of the world, but I long to experience breakthrough today so I can manifest the love and power of your kingdom rule and reign. I walk into my day today asking that you fill me anew with the Spirit so that I can walk in intimate fellowship with you- hearing your voice, obeying your ways, experiencing your power and living a life that bears much spiritual fruit showing myself to be your daughter (son) and attracting others to your grace, love and connection. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen!
(“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” 2 Corin. 13:14)

30 days of prayer...more Holy Spirit::week 3
By Heather Kreiser
DAY 15
Lord, today I ask for more of the Holy Spirit for the people in my life- bring your power to my words when speak about you. Fill me with faith and anticipation that you will bless my family and friends with even more of You than I have experienced. Bring glory to your name by ministering to them me in Jesus’ name!
(“And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning.” Acts 11:15)
DAY 16
Holy Spirit- fill me with joy today! Yes, God, define joy in a new way- in Your way. I release my limited ideas of what joy looks like and open my hands and my heart to receive joy as you give it. I love you and I love your ways! Thank you Holy Spirit. Yes, more of you in my life... more joy... I wait here for you to come and fill me anew...Amen.
(“And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.” Acts 13:52)
DAY 17
Father in heaven- you give such good gifts. Thank you for your gifts! I especially am thankful that you give the gift of a new heart through your Spirit. Continue your work in my heart to heal me and create a new appetite for praise from you rather than the insatiable appetite of my flesh that wants praise from people. I surrender my social media to you today, Lord! Quicken my heart to posts that lead me away from you and help me to create posts that bring life, peace and joy to others by reminding them that YOU are the source of freedom from the trappings of this world. For the glory of Jesus, Amen.
(“...but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.” Romans 2:29)
DAY 18
Father in heaven- I confess that I have tried to protect my heart on my own by preparing for disappointment. I have even invited disappointment as a part of my daily life. You intend me to live in HOPE instead. Today, I break up with disappointment and invite your Holy Spirit to fill me with your love from which springs hope. Yes, God, more of your Holy Spirit in my heart- in the deep places that I do not even know. I welcome your healing and your ways in place of my own fear in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
(“Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Romans 5:5)
DAY 19
Spirit of the Living God, bring your refreshing wind of unconditional love to my spirit. I reject any condemnation in the name of Jesus Christ and receive the grace of His forgiveness and mercy in the deep places of my heart. I thank you for Your power to not give into my own selfish desires and appetites, but instead to run toward you at every opportunity... to know the joy and blessing of walking with you in the big and little decisions I make today. All for the glory of Jesus, Amen!
(“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” Romans 8:1)
(“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:2)
DAY 20
Father, thank you that Christ is in me and I have the Spirit of life flowing through me like a fountain of living water. I do not fear death like I used to and I choose not to focus my attention on the culture of death around me- media, video games, books- I invite the culture of life offered to me through Christ’s resurrection. I receive and carry the gift of eternal life! Thank you! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
(“And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.” Romans 8:10)
DAY 21
Father- thank you that I belong to you! I am yours and I no longer am held captive by fear of what I do not see, of the future, of sickness or death. I reject the lie that I do not belong. I proclaim aloud right now, “I belong to God! Yes, Daddy (Abba) I belong to You!” Spirit, help me to be aware of your voice today reminding me of this truth at school, at work, at home, with my friends, when I am alone. I am never truly alone because you are with me. Amen!
(“For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.’” Romans 8:15)
(“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God...” Romans 8:16)

30 days of prayer...more Holy Spirit:: week 2
By Heather Kreiser
Day 8
Thank you Father for sending the Advocate to us. Holy Spirit, remind me today what Jesus taught through your Word. Please open my spiritual eyes to see the depth of meaning in the Bible today! I love you. I need you. Thank you that you hear my prayer and joyfully answer me. In the the beautiful name of Jesus, amen.
(John 14:26 “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”)
Day 9
Spirit of truth, please give me discernment to know what is of God’s kingdom, and what is not. Give me sensitivity to Your voice so that I do not make decisions based only on feelings or circumstances. Guide me into all the truth that the Father speaks to you not only about my here and now, but of things to come for the glory of Jesus’ name. I praise you for making known to me the secrets of the kingdom! Amen.
(John 13:13 “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.”)
Day 10
Spirit of the Living God, thank you for empowering us to live life well in this world! As we stay connected to you in the daily, ordinary activities of life, make us aware of how we can bring your kingdom to bear on earth making us witnesses of Your power to all people- from our neighborhoods, to our cities, to our nation and to the ends of the earth! In the powerful name of Jesus, amen.
(Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”)
Day 11
Father in heaven, You are all powerful and do mighty works on the earth. Fill me with the Holy Spirit and enable me to enjoy your presence in new ways. I ask for the gifts of the Spirit to manifest in my life today- draw me closer to you in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
(Acts 2:4 “All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”)
Day 12
Father God, thank you for constantly initiating relationship with your people. Thank you that I do not have to do anything to earn your favor or your love. You give good gifts to your children, and I ask you to pour out your Spirit on me and my household with prophesy, visions and dreams so that we can understand your heart and experience all of your blessings. In the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
(Acts 2:17 “ ‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.’”)
(Acts 2:38 “Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’”)
Day 13
Father God- I praise you for being the BEST coach in life. You challenge us to do things we sometimes do not want to do in order to become the people we really want to be. I invite you to shake up places in my heart where I need MORE of your Holy Spirit! Give me courage to to discern your promptings and to speak the word of God boldly in my spheres of influence: home, work, school and play. For the glory of Jesus’ name, amen.
(Acts 4:31 “After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.”)
Day 14
Good morning Lord. I already need your encouragement today! My world and my church need your peace. Holy Spirit, I declare encouragement and peace over myself, my home and my church family! May it be contagious and spread among our non-believing family and friends. Increase our numbers and usher in salvations in this season! That the name of Jesus would be lifted high, amen.
(Acts 9:31 “Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.”)

30 days of prayer ...More Holy Spirit::week 1
By Heather Kreiser
Day 1
Father in heaven, I thank you for being so generous and I ask you for a noticeable increase of the Holy Spirit’s influence in my life this week! I trust you to do this because you are a good Father and your nature is to give good gifts. In the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
(Luke12:10 “If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”)
Day 2
Good morning (evening) Lord- thank you for this new day! I receive the promise that Jesus gave that the Holy Spirit would teach me what to say when I am put on the spot to share about you. I receive your teaching Holy Spirit today when I engage relationships in my family, friends, school and workplace. I ask that you will be near me and inspire me with courage to speak about your goodness and your kingdom. I love you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
(Luke 12:12 “...for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”)
Day 3
Father in heaven, thank you for giving birth to my spirit through the death and resurrection of Your Son, Jesus Christ! Holy Spirit- I ask that you awaken my spirit to Your presence and I give you full access to my life today. Grow me up in You! For the glory of Jesus Christ, amen.
(John 3:6 “Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.”)
Day 4
Father, thank you for your power and your mysterious ways! I give you permission to have your way with me today. Help me to surrender control and fear around the idea of your reign and rule in my life. I love you and trust you to breath on me and follow you wherever you lead me today. For the fame of Jesus’ name, amen.
(John 3:8 “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”)
Day 5
Good morning (evening) Lord. I love you and thank you for speaking life to my spirit through the gift of Jesus’ sacrifice and resurrection. How can I ever thank you enough? Every day is a gift from you. In response to your limitless love, I ask for ears to hear the Holy Spirit, the courage to do what He says and I declare my trust is in you to speak the words of God when you send me into the circumstances and relationships of this day. For Jesus’ sake, amen.
(John 3:34 “For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.”)
Day 6
Father! I love you and thank you for creating me to worship you. Release my heart, my body, my mind, my spirit to give you glory today. Fill me with your Holy Spirit to worship you through the Spirit in authenticity and freedom. I commit today to worship You through my healthy choices, my service to others, my work and unique creative expressions. In the beautiful name of Jesus, amen.
(John 4:23 “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.”)
Day 7
Holy Spirit, thank you for giving life, not only one time, but you are constantly breathing life in the world. Speak to me the words Jesus has spoken because his words are truth life and I agree with you that the things of this world count for nothing. Bring to my mind words of life, prophetic truths for people today and I will speak them. For the fame of Jesus’ name- amen!
(John 6:63 “The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.”)

Savoring these moments…
"How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives." This quote by Annie Dillard sent me reeling since I returned from Q in Nashville a few weeks ago. Then, when this photo came up on my FB feed, I felt I had been doing a pretty good job of savoring each season as a family of 3, then 4, then finally 5. It's crazy how the tender moments of our infant boys became some long days that then climbed into learning stages which folded into years until they have astonishingly transformed into decades. We have three boys and our oldest will turn 20 in a few days! But also, I am a party girl at my very core which means I love to embrace the environment around me, try new experiences and dive deeply into relationships along the way. But, this part of me as a mom makes me grapple with the truth that I simply cannot be present for every sweet smile, every light-bulb moment or even every tear of my children. It's beyond FOMO (fear of missing out), its just a reality that it is not humanly possible for me to be engaged in every moment of my kids' lives. And it gets harder as they get older, and the moments are even fewer. Sometimes, I see my mom friends almost desperate to hang onto their kids just when its time to be launching them. So the question is how do we savor each moment without building our entire identity around being a mom? I have found SUCH joy in growing as a woman, not just a mom...and I am ironically a better mom for it. Treasuring my husband, regular workouts, focused time with Jesus, pursuing excellence in my work and ministry and making space to be with my friends have been VITAL to my favorite thing- being a mom. But above it all, I have found that I am free to savor these fleeting moments because I really trust the Lord to care for the boys when I cannot. I take seriously my spiritual authority to declare God's best for them, to pray protection over them and that the Spirit will personally encounter them so powerfully that they fall in love with Him like Jeff and I have...but more and better because that is what the Lord does. He delights in me and in my own delight as a mom. He delights in us!!! Is that not amazing? The Lord has a party side of Him as well. I love His delight and His joy and I am praying that you really feel and know it as well. Walking in His delight is a great way to spend our days that end up defining our lives so we are free to savor each beautiful moment without the need to grasp for what we is beyond us.

nurturing a movement
Earlier this year I was invited to be present in the delivery room for the birth of a friend's fourth child- her first girl after having three boys. It was such an honor to be asked to join mom, dad & some select friends to welcome this baby into the world! The wonder of it all still takes my breath away. A sense of awe bonded us all together as we witnessed that one sweet, anticipated moment ushering in baby Chole's existence from within the nurture of the womb into the arms of her parents. Since 2012, I have been invited into another type of "delivery room" for a few mini-movements throughout my city and I am in awe witnessing what the Lord is birthing. Simultaneously, though, I feel a huge sense of shared responsibility to help nurture and steward these young movements so that they can continue to mature into the fruitful, ongoing, sustainable things God uses to expand His Kingdom. What is a movement of God? I believe the following distinguishes a movement of God from human strategy: -God starts it and He sustains it. -The presence of God comes more often and in at unexpected times. -He sometimes asks you as the leader to take a backseat, but things still grow and sometimes become even more fruitful. -The Lord leads you to frequently step outside of your comfort zone and do something you feel insecure or ill-equipped to do...and fruit results. -He puts you on a team with another believer you never would have chosen to work with...and unity results. -Your prayer life ramps up big time. -Your heart breaks for people and people groups in your city that you have never met. -You become more jealous for the fame of Jesus' name and start fantasizing about door-to-door evangelism in your neighborhood. -You start by introducing yourself to all of your neighbors. -You realize you need to dream bigger dreams because God consistently answers prayers with greater results than you asked for. If we are not currently leading or serving a movement, then we are preparing for one! When I walked into the delivery room that day, I was not sure how I would be able to add anything to the amazing experience of this family's special moments. I was just so totally blessed to be present! As the hours of labor passed, I offered ice chips to mama, called to arrange childcare, and prayed and encouraged when labor was slowing down. But, when the action really started, I was shocked to be invited to take Dad's place by Mom's side when the doctor offered him a chance to help deliver his only daughter! Eight hours earlier, I was not sure what my role would be... Only that I was invited and thankful to be entrusted to share this day. I think movements of God are like this. We wait in anticipation for the Holy Spirit to birth something that can only be of Him. And then, when we are invited into this holy delivery room, we can help to mature and steward the movement by: Staying in awe of what He is doing Cultivating a heart of gratitude for His invitation to join Him in it- even if it is in small, supportive, "under the radar" ways Be prepared to jump in to do whatever He asks even if it is outside our "grid" I mean, it would have been ridiculous for me to vie for the position of the daddy to help deliver the baby- my role was to be prepared, be aware of my surroundings, understand what I can and cannot offer in these moments and be courageous to step up to an opportunity when it is offered. Similarly, our place in God's movements is to be handled ever so wonderfully and humbly. We are offered an opportunity to come into a room with some who are especially skilled and have tons of experience right along side those who stand in the background awaiting instruction. Oh God! Give me, give my city's leaders the humility and courage to walk in our assignments in order to birth your movements well and bring them into maturity by knowing our part! Fill us with awe of You and willingness to do whatever you ask as you unify and mobilize Your people for such a time as this.

Turnaround :: a poem by jeff kreiser
Babies head is up Mommy's tears come down Unexpected news A turnaround Facing uncertainty C-section possibility Awakened from the easy dream To new reality Now rest in bed, Rest and pray get everything ready a week in one day Hope for a turnaround Difficult plans Heads up to heads down With the doctors hands Arrive early and wait Watch the clock, watch the door The doctor is late Feet pace the floor Hold your breath, grit your teeth This baby's turn is brief Head up to head down another turn around Now a normal birth Shorter time, but like the first Arrival of our boy A fresh gift of joy Wrong to right, Dark to light Nightmare to dream, red light to green Loss to win, frown to grin Turnaround

Biz Trip to SF with Ginny!
So I am walking my dog after just parting ways with my friend Ginny after a 36 hour jaunt to San Francisco for a combined business trip. Ginny and I had spent several coffees, lunches and even holidays in the last year together. What makes this friendship so unique is that we are in very different life stages. I am a Medical Sales Specialist, in my 40s, married to a man in full-time Christian ministry and have three teenage boys. Ginny is CEO have a tech company, married to a military helicopter pilot who used to fly U-2 planes, no kids. But the thing we enjoy how these difference inform each other's perspectives on the world, work, relationships and family. Ginny and I are both followers of Jesus Christ. We find our struggles and successes steeped in this journey of faith. Honestly, this common worldview helps us to launch into discussions from a common platform. But we keep finding ourselves broaching random topics that are so dang stimuating for heart and mind -at least for us! We would live to invite you into some of these conversations if you are so inclined. These are some of the topics we mused about on our recent SF trip: In the silence, we make up stories: how women screw up friendships Is there room for the scientific theory of evolution in our Christian friendships? How to best honor our friendships with atheists Culture shaping: our joy and responsibility of carrying the kingdom of God into our circles of influence "A confused mind says 'NO'": exploring Ginny's marketing genius Simple Style: re-thinking our wardrobe with the help of fashion friends and excellent apps Culture-shaping We listened to Pastor Dan Axtell's "Kingdom of God" talk on convergence.world podcast and it launched us into discussing what our role is in changing the world. I mean, do we like the world we are in right now? If not, what influence have I been given to help shape it? Do I have a responsibility to better our culture or is that a prideful, idealistic notion? When I became a Christian, I consciously subjected myself to the spiritual reign and rule of King Jesus Christ, aligning myself with His Kingdom. I think there are two kingdoms competing for allegiance in this world: The kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of light. Simplistic, I know, but so clarifying! So the question I am seeking to answer is: how does my living by "Kingdom of God" principles impact my little world? I understand that the kingdom of God is designed to reconcile, protect, and maximize the potential of people, and so I think I can expect the result of my decision to follow King Jesus to produce something beautiful in my relationships (my little world) and that they will experience blessing, encouragement & honor. But more importantly is how the kingdom of God influences and changes me into that beacon of hope, lasting love, and healthy relationships I so long for! It all starts closest at home and then organically spills out into my community. Little steps following a Big God that untimately makes this world a better place to live and raise generations to come.
