Happy Birthday Beloved
When birds chirp
When the sun rises
When people wake
When flowers grow
When children play
When gates open
When envelopes are posted
When the smell of food wafts
When friends giggle
When vines intertwine
When old people go on walks
When people drink
I see you
All i see is you
My dear
You bloom in the day
You are shining
In the light
When the stars shine
When the moon glows
When the fireflies come out
When the streetlights turn on
When the city sparkles
When headlights blur in the rain
When neon signs blow
When the air turns cold
When the waves crash
When the lighthouse turns on
When the fish sleep
When jellyfish glow
I see you
All i see is you
My dear
You glow in the dark
You are luminescent
In the night

I limp my way through the forest.
Clothes torn. Sweat on my body.
Mud on the forest path try to hold me back,
Shielding me from better days.
I see in the distance a shimmer,
Silver, green and blue grace my eyes,
As I see a beautiful lake.
The lake in the woods.
I move closer to the gentle lake
To fall on my knees and look in.
Moonlight falls on the ripples
Inviting me in.
There is moss on the banks,
And fireflies near-by.
I see the full moon
In the lake in the woods.
I yearn for a place
In the heart of the lake.
The moonlit lake in the woods.
Willing and with conviction,
I fall gently into the lake
And let it embrace me
With it's cold loving arms.
The water is gentle and cold
But runs much deeper,
You do not want to know more
I hear the lake say.
I rid myself of the calm clutches
And plunge myself deeper
Into the depths of
The lake in the woods.
The depths are turbulent
And yet gracefully gentle
I feel water enter my lungs
As i asphyxiate.
As I feel my breath stopping.
I open my eyes towards the sky
And I see the beauty of the lake
All around me
I see stars on the night sky
I see the full moon
I see rays of moonlight
Through the waters
I see fireflies
I see dried leaves floating on the water
I see small pebbles
I see lilies.
My breath is getting slower
And my eyes are closing
I can't think clearly
But i know where I belong.
I think of Baburs words
When he first laid his eyes upon
The mountains of Kashmir.
Is duniya mein agar jannat hai, toh bas yahi hai, yahi hai, yahi hai.

Kings are dying
Empires are falling
Hellfire rages
Consuming us
Through the pain
And confusion
I find clarity in her
I find solace in her
The fires raging
Across celestial bodies
Wane in comparison
To the fires raging across hers.
She said she looks in the mirror
What she said next fell on deaf ears
For I was jealous
I envy her mirror
What would I not give?
To see her in front of me
In the pale sunlight
In all her glory
I envy any river
She looks into
For it catches a glance
Of her.
Her fire
Burns across me
It scalds the insides of my body
It makes me euphoric
Butterflies flutter
Blood rushes
Sweat.
And I shiver
I will lick her wounds clean
I will dry her tears
For I know
She'll do the same
I die with every word of hers
And I'm reborn with every touch
Never before has death
Been so appealing
I know where she is
In the night
In the cold and darkness
I go to the graveyard
She sits on a grave
Her beautiful legs dangling
I envy the moonlight
For it gets to touch her
I lean in to kiss her
She lifts her head
I see her beautiful black eyes
And I die again
I am reborn when we touch
I die with her kiss
Never before has life
Been so appealing

The old chinese vase sits on the mantle.
Filled with water.
A single drink pulls me in
Pulls me into my past.
The old chinese vase sits on the mantle.
Blue and white
A single drink from the vase
And I forget the present.
The old chinese vase sits on the mantle.
Sneering,
It asks me to drink from it
Guilt makes me want to obey.
The old chinese vase sits on the mantle.
It knows that sorrow is addictive.
It wants to take me back
Back to a time when i didnt know her.
The old chinese vase sits on the mantle.
Beckoning me closer.
You dont deserve her, it tells me.
You are nothing.
The old chinese vase sits on the mantle.
Look at your reflection in my waters,
It tells me.
Go back to sorrow.
The old chinese vase sits on the mantle.
I go near it.
Smiling it askes me
To plunge in.
I take the old chinese vase
And hold it gently in my hands
With all the strength
I have in my body
I break the old chinese vase.
As the vase shatters on the ground
Shards fly everywhere
I can see them on the ground waiting to bite
I will get back to her.
The water from the vase turns into a flood
Flooding the room till my neck
One last attempt
From the old chinese vase
I will get back to her.
I dive underwater
Feeling water enter my lungs
Memories from a time before
Flood my brain.
I shake off ill feelings,
Forebodings and prophesies.
I don't know much but i know this
I must get back to her.
I swim until i hit something
Its a door
I open the door and run out
Out of my past.
I jump in the old car
And drive away
I see the old house with its broken shards
In my rear view mirror.
I dont know much but i do know this
I love her.
I love her more than the sky.
I love her more than the planet.
I love her more than the stars.
I love her more than wine and ballrooms.
I love her the way Kennedy loved Monroe.
Beautiful.Impossible maybe.
And yet,hopeful.
I know i want her.
God himself could tell me i cant have her.
God could tell me that I'll go to hell before I can have her.
I will tell my loving father
I will burn in hell for a thousand years if it means I can be with her for one.

In the end
Do not blame me for the agony I caused
Blame this needy, pining heart.
But in the end
I ask you to leave it alone
For it has seen enough.
Enough tears and enough bloodshed.
Enough sorrow.
In the end
If you cannot spare me I wont ask you to.
But I fall on my knees and ask you,
Spare this needy, bleeding heart.

Water is funny
April's face was funny
when she was drowning
Her face,
serene like the lake,
pretty like a dream,
Oh April!
You look so like your father.
Funny how I chose her to be the last.
Funny how she didn't trust her mother
when I said it's lovely to float.

He didn’t know
his touch did it all .
He Didn’t quite
want to know
that no matter
how much ever he tried
it was always
his love that hurts.
Like she could have just not hid her teeth when she threw her head back and laughed

Dear child,
did they tell you
the fireflies live for a day
to light up the air?
Do they let you see
the bruises on your father's knees?
Or those scars on your mother's wrist?
Golden boy,
you have a lion's heart, they tell you
Precious girl,
you have an angel's wings, they love you.
But someday you will see-
your flaws; you will cry,
you will mourn the lies.
You will see that
they never wanted you to see.
