Alright... Not proud of this one. In kindergarten, in art classes, we were drawing a Gabriel icon and I was told that angels have huge eyes and small mouths because they speak with their gaze, and this image has stayed with me forever.

It always bothered me that having multiple arms for insect characters is a wildly Inconsistent rule.

Beezelebub

Holy nightmare of all Nightmares, here's Beezlebub, the most scariest Sin of them all, a fun fact about Bee. She's supposedly the mother of hellhounds, and a mother of hellhounds often should encourage her kids to feed her. Sooo.

Beezlebub had cultivated a hellhound hive dedicated to indulgence and whim. Beezlebub wanted her Hellhounds to feed her, and if they don't they are considered dead to her and are sent to Pounds. What kind of pounds is up to you. Because of Beelzebub's rapid hunger it led to the mere destruction of others, and she feeds on weakness and other people's bad decisions (BeezleJuice)

re-read the ask about adam and lucifer, and now i can't help but headcanon that sometimes lucifer would humor adam with some dagoth ur-esque lines before their next fight. "i'm the devil, how can you kill the devil? what a grand and intoxicating innocence" kind of shit, lmao. only where dagoth's lines were still an indication of a (somewhat) lingering affection for neverar, lucifer's just downright teasing adam, cause he's start getting bored of the simple fightings and wanted to spice it up a bit.

I adore this headcanon, sassy Lucifer with twisted prideful affection seems very in-character :D

alastor h*zbin h*tel redesign (context under cut)

so me and a few friends had the brilliant idea of russian roulette h*zbin h*tel redesigns. we have never watched h*zbin for reference. fortunately and unfortunately i got alastor! genuinely found some stuff interesting in his backstory but it was held down by all the baggage of him being one of the only black men in the story (the weird portrayal of voodoo and him being a serial killer) plus the wendigo aspect is ripped off from indigenous cultures.

i wanted to still keep the deer theming as that hints as to why he died (given the hunter) but did not want to include any of the baggage. i also wanted to have a more blatant theme to the radio and microphones + actually make a menacing demon design that wasn't the weird tentacles... girl ... i included my design board + inspirations! also now he doesn't have that fuckass bob :]

updated angel dust redesign!!!🕷️💗

-angel dust was a sinner that died in 1948. they were a member of a large mafia family and led a secret life as a drag queen. "real" name anthony ragno

-they were born into the family, and were unable to leave bc. you know. life of crime

-much of their family looked down on them and mocked them bc of their feminine mannerisms

-they had a particularly bad relationship with their father, who saw them as a failure of a son-so they turned to drag and underground queer clubs instead (miss angel baby was their drag name that they adopted full time after dying. they then renamed themselves angel dust after the drug became popular in the 60's)

-they also turned to cocaine, often stealing from their family's stash

-their death happened because they were lousy hiding the tracks of their theft and the family got a tip off that angel had been stealing and that they were currently in an aforementioned queer club

-mafia family storms the queer club, angel comes out off their head on cocaine, their father finds then and shoots them in the stomach before slamming their head against the wall repeatedly, killing them

-their and all of their family's (except their sister) demon forms are spiders, symbolising the web of lies they spun😎 because angel died in drag they also have a much more feminine demon form

-they enjoyed life in hell for a while, but soon enough other members of their family started dying and began looking for them. this caused them to flee to the nearest hiding space they had, a place called Valentino's that promised a safe haven against any threats

-as we know this promise is absolute bullshit

-angel signed the contract that allowed them entry to valentino's. they were panicked and signed it hastily, not looking at the fine print.

-they become trapped at valentino's, forced to be a prostitute. the contract does hold its end on one part- none of angel's family in hell can see or touch them

-sometime in the 80's valentino himself visits and likes the look of angel, deciding that he wants them for himself

-he takes on angel as a prostitute/porn star/stripper/whatever valentino wants them to be today, with valentino abusing them behind the scenes

-valentino lovebombs them often, buying them expensive gifts they are required to wear and feeding their drug habit

-despite being famous, most of the money angel makes goes straight into valentinos pocket. this is what leads them to finding charlie's hotel, as they do not have enough money to pay rent and the happy hotel offers free accommodation.

-angel, when they first start to stay at the hotel is openly dismissive and antagonistic towards the cause, sneaking in drugs, throwing parties, trashing the place. they have no intention of getting better

-it takes angel a while to come round to the hotel's cause, but it does happen

-angel constantly wants attention to be on them, whether positive or negative. their favourite way to do this is by winding up vee

-angel's best friend is pao (cherri bomb), an anarchist who wants nothing more than to free them- but she has no money, no connections and is banned from most places on sight due to her habit of blowing stuff up. when angel dust gets sad and mopey, she gets angry for them

-angel uses they/them, but hell isnt the most progressive place, so few demons use it for them. they dont really care though, they have bigger things to worry about

-their mood shifts abruptly when around valentino- they go from brash and chatty to quiet and obedient when he is around

-they actually physically cannot harm valentino, as part of their contract states that any harm valentino goes through also happens to them

-another part of their contract is that they cannot say anything bad about valentino. if they try to, they start choking and coughing

-they like to keep up with the latest trends, and have a decent sinstagram following. they're very modern and have also lost their new york accent over time

-they are hypersexual due to trauma, but unlike in canon it is not their only personality trait

-they have frequent night terrors and do will do anything to not fall asleep

a state within the empire that started as a settlement at the beginning, but has grown over time; its outline is kind of nondescript, but you still can compare it with pentagram or hexagram :D

it's 7th circle: not the Pride ring, but the Circle of Violence

height differences in Dis are quite noticeable, as the buildings have been layered one on top of the other for centuries and millennias; the center is above everything, while the areas around it gradually descend to Phlegethon and the Red Campus

THE TOWER: the main center, stronghold, meeting place, seat of government (there is no king in Dis, it has a parliament) and home of Belial, the mage above all mages

PANDEMONIUM: "old city" with shrines and estates of elder demons; it's impossible for the younger demons to get there (only as servants), sinners don't even breathe in that direction

MALACHOUSE: rich quarter where fallen angels, rephaim/nephilim and their offspring were first permanently settled (their descendants' families have firmly settled there)

CITADEL: protected and armed section, located far away from Phlegethon and, as a consequence, well entrenched

CRADLE: the first place of permanent hellborns' settlement with houses of stone

IRON CHAMBER: well, this is what mortals usually describe when they say that in Hell you will be roasted by devil :D (factories, melting pots, torture chambers, all that stuff)

SICKLE: section-peninsula, de jure a place for the guilty, de facto they aren't particularly restricted in movement, controlling bridges and working out punishments as watchmen and inspectors

INNER QUARTERS: no need to comment, these are younger neighborhoods in terms of construction, house of artisans, merchants and all hellborn goons

yes, CANNIBAL TOWN is also one of these quarters; it's quite small within the city, but they are close to the trade road between Collis Dominium and Free Red Campus

COLLIS DOMINIUM: populous area outside the main city walls, chaotic, densely populated and built up on a pile of hills, close to Phlegethon and forests (includes the Forest of self-murderers)

FREE RED CAMPUS: local Campus Martius with battle arenas

PESTILENTIA: "torn-up" region, because for centuries and millennia the infectious sick, the plague, syphilitics, lepers and other lovely folk have been exiled there

BANKS OF PHLEGETHON: the only area of 7th Circle where the majority of the population is sinners, cut off from the city by the river

I find the name of Pentagram City dull and clunky and kinda dislike it but yesterday I’ve misheard it as “Pentagrad” and it‘s been on my mind for some time now
