taichou-13:
“I look forward to trying it”
Jushiro smiled brightly, placing the jar on the counter so he could pay for it later. The fact there were other possible varieties of this tea caught his attention and he turned back to Kira, curious; thinking if anyone knew about where he could find other varieties then it would probably be him. The idea of finding another tea he hadn’t tried yet with the lieutenant as his guide, sounded like an enjoyable way to spend some time. If the other man okay to lend his expertise, that was.
“What other varieties can you buy? I’d quite like to see them. Do you know if I could get them here?”
His smile faded, eyes clouding with concern as Izuru explained the reasons for needing a tea to relax him. A lack of sleep was never a good thing in an officer, especially one with so much responsibility right now. With the Gotei Thirteen missing so many Captains after Aizens defection, making sure those left behind were fit and healthy was important. They couldn’t afford to lose officers to sickness, especially if it was bought on by overwork and a lack of sleep. Wanting to check all was well, Jushiro voiced his worry,
“Why aren’t you sleeping?”
“They only have a limited supply here....but there is a store within the world of the living that I frequent as often as I can....I’ve tried to recreate the flower....however it never blooms properly so I couldn’t even make them for you, unfortunately.”
He rubbed the back of his head thinking for a moment before showing Ukitake where he could find the other two flavors this particular shop had. While he enjoyed all three flavors, he personally wanted more variety but there was only so much you could acquire in the world of souls that they lived in.
When he noticed the others anxiety to his statement, Izuru frowned and looked away from the other. How could he tell Ukitake the truth? No one truly understood how he felt....after all, how could they? Even Momo, one of the only people who could even begin to understand the pain couldn’t really comprehend his own thoughts.
“There are many reasons.....though I’m....I’m working on getting everything straight it.....it uhm....its just taking longer than I thought it would.”

Giselle stared at the other with interest. “I’ve never heard of Tai Chi, you’ll have to teach me!” She exclaimed with joy at the thought of him showing her something new.
Forehead scrunched in thought as she tapped her chin. “Well, I like playing the harp and checkers are fun. Those were all brought from other countries my Uncle does trade with. Whenever my sister grew bored of something, I could have it.” Giselle nodded. “So I guess I just love new things.”
“Oh, uh— since we are to be married you should just call my name.” The corners of her eyes turned upward with her smile this time–making it seemed like every part of her was smiling at the blonde.
“Its very taxing at times but if you’re willing to work at it....I personally believe it helps ones mind. Well it helps mine, at least” He smiled softly, looking down at the food before him as he listened to her stories. It must have been horrible to live with someone who seemed not to care. To have to wait for a sibling to finish with something before you could even have your share of happiness....Izuru vowed to himself that he would give her anything she should ever desire.
As they said before, it was time for their own happiness.
“Giselle” He spoke her name before a smile returned. “I will try and remember to....though I can make no promises...I dont think I’ve ever simply called someone by their name before....but you....you are someone special so I will definitely try.”

Everyone had a tell. [ ᴇᴠᴇɴ ᴛʜᴏsᴇ ᴡɪᴛʜ ᴀ sᴛʀᴀɪɢʜᴛ ғᴀᴄᴇ ʟɪᴋᴇ ɪᴢᴜʀᴜ ] Finding it out would prove to be rather difficult, but Grimmjow would not give into this task so easily. Observation is key. After the raise, he set his lot into the pot. Prepared for the outcome of this battle.
The time was now.
♔ ┊ ‘ Well… ’
Hιѕ cαяɗѕ – laid out for 𝒶𝓁𝓁 𝑒𝓎𝑒𝓈 to see.
Bright blue eyes turned down to see the cards as they were folded out onto the table, only to see what he feared.
He had lost again. While he could defeat many a man because, even as far as he knew, he didn’t have a tell but even then you needed to have a decent hand to win.
Laying out his cards, he sighed.
“Looks like you won this round as well....”

He had mindlessly taken the cup. A single sip traveling between his lips and down into his throat. Took a mere second to recognize the flavor. [ ᴘᴇᴀᴄʜᴇs ] And he found that to be rather unique. He liked it. Was a surprise because only Shuhei knew how to prepare tea to his Captain’s exact liking. Maybe this sudden interruption wasn’t all bad after all. He’d let it go.
Eyes peered up at the blonde.
♞ ┊ ‘ It’s fine. At least you made yourself υѕєfυƖ. ’
His tone, not the nicest perhaps, but his comment remained true. Kensei was appreciative of the tea. Helped warm up his spirits for the rest of this damn paperwork. He didn’t know what was taking his Lieutenant so damn long, but while this other was here offering, he might as well take advantage.
‘ I’d like it if you could package those stacks of paper into those boxes there. ’
“Yes sir, I can certainly get started”
He smiled softly, keeping his eyes low. Kensei may have slightly warmed to his presence but that didn’t mean that Izuru didn’t continue to feel the awkwardness that loomed in the air. Though he was very appreciative that he now had some purpose to be here and wait for his friend.
Moving over to the stacks of papers, he set to work always finding his own little bit of happiness when he could do work. Setting the papers into the box neatly, he continued with each stack without making much noise at all. Even in his own office he often worked quietly.
...At least he would if his own Captain didn’t practice his music in the office. Not that he would complain, Rose was a master of his craft, Izuru just enjoyed working in silence most of the time.
It wasn’t until he was finished that Izuru finally walked from the neatly stacked boxes and picked up the pot of tea.
“I have finished your task. Would you like some more tea?”

//I’m sorry about the mess up that happened on this blog. I had queued everything up and had all the replies done but for whatever reason everything from Rangiku’s and Yylfordt’s blog ended up on this one. I haven’t been able to fix it because I’ve been out of town and it looks like all of my replies have vanished which means I have to rewrite them all together :/
I will hopefully be on tonight to finally fix everything.
Again I am sorry!

playkinshara:
“I’ll be ten minutes”
The reiteration left no room for argument; Rose’s voice a contradiction of firm and gentle, disliking the word hope in the lieutenant’s reply. If he wished to be a better commander, then it wasn’t acceptable for Izuru to simply hope he’d do he something. Rose knew he wanted him to be unquestionably sure that he would; that he was someone the younger man could rely on no matter what. Maybe that was something that had been lacking in their relationship before.
Izuru rose from his seat obviously wanting to see him the few of feet to the door. Rose almost winced at this, thinking how fragile the young man looked. What he needed was rest, not be escorting guests out in some misplaced sense of duty. He opened his mouth in an attempt to dissuade him from doing so but gave up when he caught a brief glimpse of the other’s face. It was clear this gesture was important to him, for the sake of avoiding a debate or upsetting him more, he decided to let it go.
Now outside again, Rose walked the short distance to his rooms at a brusk pace, slipping quickly in through the main door and heading straight to his bedroom. Knowing exactly what he was looking for, he turned his attention to a high shelf by the window. On it lived a few trinkets he’d picked up over the years, not the most precious of his possessions but things that held sentimental value to him and he’d thought worth keeping. A quick scan was all it took for him to spot what he wanted and lift it carefully from it’s place. In his hands now rested a little wooden box; the wood dark and hinges tarnished with age but still in quite good condition. Rose smiled, knowing despite it’s age, it would serve his purpose and slipped it into the sleeve of his kosode with the utmost care.
It didn’t take long to trace his steps back to Izuru’s quarters and the Captain soon found himself standing at the front door. He knocked loudly, alerting Izuru to his return and need to be let back in. Suddenly, without being able to stop himself, Rose found himself holding his breath, half expecting the door not be opened, as he waited to be let back in
One small white cup would shift under his fingertips as Izuru sat waiting for his Captains return. A part of him was terrified of what would happen once Rose returned. Yes this was a moment where they were supposed move forward.....to push past these boundaries and make something better of the relationship they have but...what if Rose disliked what he found in him? What if his Captain would regret having him as a Lieutenant?
Only moments passed as his fingers began to tremble in anxiety only to jump out of his thoughts as Rose tapped on the door.
Standing, Izuru opened the door and allowed the other man to enter, his head remaining down. His hope was that he, at least, being here and showing his Captain that he wouldn’t run would, indeed, be the start of something new.
“I hope you enjoy your tea” He murmured, moving to pour them both a cup and letting the auroma wash over the room. “It is a light tea with a lavender taste and a...marigold bloom.”

taichou-13:
“I’m sorry for your loss”
His eyes clouded as Kira explained himself, the sad loss of so much family in one fell swoop. That was a heavy burden for anyone to bear and made him grateful, that despite everything else that had happened over his long life time, he could still say his family was alive and well. It sounded like the blonde had been lucky enough to have such a carefree childhood as well, how tragic that had to be cut so short.
The atmosphere feeling decidedly more somber and unable to think of a way to lighten it, Jushiro watched the lieutenant move round the room searching out kettle and water from the tiny kitchen area. As nice as it was to be told to relax, part of the Captain wanted to explore this cabin and see what else he could find. Getting up, he left the window seat and looked around, spotting nothing of real interest and turned his attention back to the kitchen, thinking there might be some small task he could do to assist in the drink preparation.
“Really it’s fine, I have no objections to helping, so please make use of me if you can.“
He hung back as Kira worked, smiling as the delicious aroma of tea started to fill the air and he was asked a question. It was only fair he shared a little bit bout why he liked the winter so much, he thought, especially as him asking in the first placed had unearthed such painful memories for the younger man. Besides, it wasn’t often he got to talk about his family or his youth, he may as well make use of the chance.
“Of course I don’t mind, I was thinking back to when I was younger. My siblings and I used to play together in the snow, “ He turned to face the blonde with a faraway look in his eye, his smile almost wistful, “ It feels like so long ago , such a simpler time too, or at least it feels like that compared to my life now”
“Sounds quite magical”
He smiled softly, noting the all too familiar distant look in the others eye. He had seen that look in himself on more than one occasion, so rather than dwell on the past he decided to make light of their situation. If they were to share stories, at least he could make sure such stories were brighter ones...ones that wouldn’t fail to make one another smile. While, yes, his happier childhood was cut short, he still had fond memories of his parents and even then there we’re pleasant memories of his time in the academy.
“The first snowfall that I remember was actually the first time I met....what would become wabisuke....or at least thats what I like to think. Imaginary friends are quite common in children so my parents chalked it up to that but when I meditate with Wabisuke now...the images are so familiar....and similar to that being as a child...I like to think that it was him. While my parents were loving, it was a lonely life without any siblings so he brought me comfort. His dark....heavy demeanor looked almost heavenly in stark contrast of the snow. No matter what types of snowfall I’ve seen since then....I’ve never seen one that seemed as magical as that day”
Pouring the tea, having already done everything that needed doing by the time Ukitake offered, Izuru handed the Captain a small cup with a somber smile. The auroma of the tea never failed to help Izuru relax, and he hoped the same could be said for Ukitake.
“Can I ask, Captain Ukitake......how many siblings do you have?”

“I....I hope to see you soon, Sir”
He nodded, forcing himself to stand to see the other out. He may be a little exhausted, and even a bit sheepish now that he stood on thin ice with Rose, but he would never be rude to his company. Eyes stayed low as he opened the door and stood aside to give his Captain room to leave.
“I’ll.....I’ll be here when you return.”
He assured, one final time before closing the door behind Rose. Izuru knew very well that he would have to prove his statement and he had every intention of doing so. Izuru was a man of his word, he was a man of honor.....or so he was before he let his own grief and depression strip even that away. However, now was the time that he could start rebuilding. Like Rose had said, it was a time for new beginnings. He would fix not only himself but his relationships....starting with his Captain.
Turning, he moved to his kitchen area where he began to prepare the water. Once it was set to boil, he pulled out multiple boxes with different sets of tea leaves.
“Which one.....”
He murmured to himself, fiddling with the various boxes. Taking in their different scents before finally settling on a blooming bud. Marigold, lavender and green tea leaves that would bloom beautifully within the clear glass teapot he would pour it in.
With the water boiling, he placed the pot in the center of the table along with two small cups to wait for Rose’s return.
“To new beginnings.....”
Sweet Dreams || Rose & Izuru
“These last few months can’t have been easy on anyone left behind”
Rose nodded in solemn understanding. You just had to look at those worse affected to be aware of just how much the Gotei was still reeling from the Winter War’s aftermath. No-one really spoke about it but more often than Rose would care to admit, the signs became glaringly obvious. It hurt even more to know that his Division, the ninth and fifth felt this more than anyone else. Yes, his lieutenant may well count Shuhei and Momo among his friends, but they had their own problems to deal with and could only do their best. This was where he should have been better Rose decided. In the grand scheme of things he had gotten off lightly and was more than capable of picking up the slack, yet he hadn’t been able to do that. He should have a been a better commander. That thought hurt so much more than Izuru’s lie had. This whole situation could have been easily preventable if he had just done his job properly.
As Izuru promised to stay, the Captain rose from his seat, still a little uneasy at the idea of leaving and watched as the younger man seemed to draw into himself, hugging his knees protectively. He was struck by how small his second in command looked like that, a shadow of a man dressed all in a blue that only served to make his eyes look more even piercing, more sad. Feeling an overwhelming urge to comfort, Rose rested a hand on the other’s shoulder and offered up a trembling but what he hoped was a comforting smile.
“Thank you, I’d like that”
He headed towards the door, turning to check on Izuru before opening it, needing to reassure himself that all would be well while he was gone. The Captain’s quarters weren’t far from where they were but it wouldn’t hurt to let the other man know how long he was going to be and reassure him he would be back.

“It sounds like you had a pleasing day, Captain Ichimaru. I’m glad for you” He smiled softly, letting the water heat up on a small burner Shuhei had brought back from the world of the living for his last birthday. It had been used non stop since then.
Once the water was warm enough, Izuru proceeded to make the tea before turning around to hand a small cup to his Captain. He then took a cup for himself and returned to his desk before looking through the stacks to find the few pieces that needed his Captains signature.
“Only these. I’ve done the rest of your paperwork, the rest of this is what I’m supposed to go through. These, however, are important and I believe you should take a look at them. One folder is meant to tell you about the renovations they will be doing to the barraks next month. Another is our budget, everything is in check, I made sure to check over the math and everything for you before you got back.....It just needs your signature. The final folder is the yearly report of our squads work. I wrote out everything but I would like you to look over it to make sure I didn’t forget anything you would like to add and it also needs your signature.”
Looking through the rest of his ‘finished’ stack, Izuru concluded there was nothing left that would need his Captains signature before setting up another set of papers to read through.
“None of it is due until next week though, so you have plenty of time”
Wayward Captain || Izuru & Gin
Gin listened intently grin plastered on his face every so often a small nod in response to something Izuru said. Someone got hurt during training huh? Well some lessons could only be learned through failure, by the sounds of it the incident wouldn’t cost the squad so the snake figured it might be a learning experience for whoever it was. The silver haired man’s hands vanished into his sleeves as Izuru spoke and also, inevitably like clockwork, rose to make Gin tea.
He wouldn’t lie, sometimes when he just wanted a cup of tea he’d wander into Izuru’s office to take advantage of his little habit. It wasn’t his fault his lieutenant made such good tea after all, the office work still all over Izuru’s desk spoke for itself, the blond had been busy.

“Well it was sure a day I hada, nice walk, morning air ta clear the head an’ all that. I see yer gettin’ things done here…workin’ hard eh Izuru?” The Captain’s attention was drawn to the paperwork again, and he let out a long sigh. That much could kill a man….and having to replace Izuru would be troublesome which meant….he’d have to do his job. At least a little…
“How much’a what’s left’s mine?”

“I’m pleased to hear your opinion on the matter. I really have been a little....I guess afraid that I would fail. Its....nice to hear such confidence. Thank you.”
She really was a beauty in all degrees, it seemed. Not only was her general appearance quite breathtaking, but as their conversation continued and even as she talked about herself or as her eyes lit up with the mention of the library.....it all seemed to show exactly why she had caught his attention so easily.
“Historical fiction? That’s very interesting indeed. Considering all points of view, I’m sure, is a key factor when writing such things so I have no doubt you would excel. The library....oh the library is one of the main reasons why I chose this school. Its beautiful, quiet and filled with anything I could ever need when it comes to research or even my free time. I spend a good chunk of my free time there”
He smiled softly, taking a sip of his tea as well. Slowly he was relaxing around Nanao, something she made easy. He had no doubt in his mind that if he were a normal person, one without so many skeletons in the closet, that he would have been relaxed completely. Her soft voice, and understanding eyes, seemed to draw one in.
“What’s your favorite thing about writing?”
Artistic Musings
Nanao smiled, quite taken with the blush but noticed the far away look in his eye, the momentary cloud of uncertainty that appeared and vanished again before most people would really notice. She pondered for a moment what had bought it on, but ultimately dismissed it as unimportant. He had managed to put whatever it was to one side and she was unwilling to press him on a subject that might make him uncomfortable. Instead, she focused back on his plans for a garden.
“I’m sure you’d do a wonderful job, you seem so passionate about it, I’ve always thought doing what you’re passionate about produces the best results.”
She wrapped her hands around the cup as if seeking it’s warmth, letting the steam from the hot tea rise up against her face before taking a sip and decided how best to reply. Truth be told, her tastes were eclectic, she’d always been happy to read anything and everything provided to caught her interest. It was, however, not the easiest thing to explain, especially when it came to the influence it had on her writing.
“ I like most genres, historical fiction in particular and anything with a good plot or that makes me think. I’ve always thought the ability to consider other points of view is an important skill to master when writing”
Her eyes lit up when he mentioned the library. It was one of her favourite places on campus; a little sanctuary she visited often, especially when in need of silence. It was one of the bigger university libraries and Nanao thought that even if she did nothing else in her spare time she’d never read everything in there.
“It’s unparalleled, isn’t it? I often spend my lunch times there, I like the peace and quiet.”

“I understand that ignorance can be cured....though because I’m not familiar with you other than this meeting....I wanted to be sure I hadn’t insulted you. You are a vital part of this town. I know the history between our kind is not a light one, or a friendly one for that matter....but even through that I hope....that things will go well between us.”
He smiled softly, looking down at his tea before taking what would be his final sip. Uryuu was definitely an intricate part of this town. It would be a shame if something he did pushed him even further away from the shinigami.
“So start at Kurosaki’s.....and end with the center of town. It help’s a lot, I really appreciate it. Lately, I’ve just been darting back and forth when I feel their spiritual pressure.....this will really make things easier.”
Standing up, Izuru straightened out his clothes and stretched his back a little. It was getting time for him to return his gigai and start his rounds.
“I have to head back to return my gigai, would you like another cup of tea before I leave?” He asked, already planning to grab himself a cup to go.
Out On The Town
The blond turned around on his own words so quickly Uryuu tried to interject but couldn’t get a word in until Izuru was done with his apologetic spiral. He hadn’t meant to seem angry simply to make it clear that he was confident in the choices he made in life. Though, he could appreciate the honest concern for his feelings, it hadn’t been something he’d expected from a stranger.
At the mention of his normal life though, Uryuu nearly shrugged, his friends were all involved in the world of Soul Reapers and Hollows. At least those he could call close good friends with confidence, and his family, well that wasn’t something he wanted to spend time dealing with anyways. The ravenette however refrained form pointing these details out not wanting to stress out his walking companion anymore than he apparently had.
“I wouldn’t call you rude, merely uninformed of the way our lives work or how we feel about things. That isn’t something you need apologize for, considering you accepted my explanation easily enough. Ignorance can be cured if one’s mind is open enough and it happens to all of us there are things we just do not understand without explanation.”
Uryuu took another drink contemplating the soul reaper’s comments about not sleeping, it wasn’t his place to police the blond’s sleeping schedule.
“The appear primarily near, the Kurosaki Clinic, followed by my own home, then Orihime’s, then Chad’s, and town center since the most normal people are there daily. I hope that little bit of information may help give you a clearer patrol route to save you scrambling across town as much as possible.”

“....I uhm...it wasn’t their fault....I’m sure everyone has been through their own way of dealing with things and after the betrayal.....we kind of all....fell apart. We smile and laugh while we’re together but once the lights are turned off each one of us deal with the grief in our own way. I’m sure there are things that I’ve ignored when it comes to them as well.....I’m not proud of it.....but....but I didn’t want you to believe that they weren’t good people...”
He bit his lip, looking down at the inviting hand that offered nothing but peace and warmth. How could he have betrayed this man? For as long as Rose had been here, he had been nothing but nice.....had done nothing but try and get close to him and yet Izuru continued to push him away. A part of him hated himself for what he had done. While it seemed like only a simple thing to do.....he had never wanted to betray.
That would make him no better than those who hurt him....
Who hurt both of them.
“Y...yes sir.....I’ll stay. I.....” He paused for a moment, taking in a breath as he pulled up his knees to his chest and rested his head on them. “I want.....I want help. Y....your help. I know it will take a while but I hope...that with this I can begin to prove my loyalty.....I never meant......I don’t want to betray your trust again...I will never betray that trust again....Captain”
He promised, biting his lip as he sighed.
“Would....would it be okay if I made some special tea for you for when you return?”
Sweet Dreams || Rose & Izuru
“No-one at all?”
It seemed hard to believe that not one person, none of the people who purported to be this man’s friend hadn’t tried to help him, despite how obviously he’d been struggling. It was beyond cruel, he thought, could these people really call themselves Izuru’s friend? Although Rose supposed he hadn’t been much better; always begrudgingly content not to question the distance Izuru had out between them and carry on trying to push himself further into the other man’s life without really considering what he might be going through. If he was serious about helping, getting to know his second in command better, then that needed to stop right now. He needed to be aware of these subtle signs that all was not well and be the supportive, nurturing commander Izuru deserved. Rose gave the hand another pat, a little squeeze and tried to reassure the him he wasn’t going anywhere,
“There is nothing I should be doing right now that can’t wait. My first duty is to my Division, that includes the wellbeing of it’s men. Izuru, I would like to help, if you’ll allow me.”
Eyes swept round the quarters, the Captain momentarily in thought as he considered just what might help the lieutenant get some sleep. His current methods were far from healthy, Rose was sure he wouldn’t be encouraging him to drink himself into a stupor any time soon. No, what was needed was something to relax him, ease him gradually into a deep, dreamless sleep.
If he’d been in the other man’s shoes, Rose knew a hot bath and some soft music would do the trick. The bath might be doable; these were officers quarters and as such were equipped with private bathrooms. However music might be more difficult. Despite the changing times, radios were unheard of in the Seireitei and it appeared the lieutenant was no musician; not a single item musical item could be seen from where he sat. It was disappointing but Rose knew he had a solution if he could return to his quarters. It seemed a simple plan but he hesitated to carry it out. After the last time he’d tried to leave Izuru alone, the fear of him vanishing while he was gone was very real to the Cpatain. He wanted a guarantee, reassurances that Izuru really did want to win back his trust; having him still be here when he got back would be a start.
“If I go and fetch something, will you give me your word that you’ll still be here when I return?”

He felt that all to familiar uneasiness as he was chastised for wanting to do work while he was healing. He should have known that she would use ‘that’ voice on him, though he couldn’t help but try.
“Y....Yes mam.”
He frowned, looking down at the sheets that covered his legs. While he didn’t want to sit and do nothing while laying here, he didn’t want to bother others to come visit either. Perhaps just sleeping would be a good idea, though in all honesty he wasn’t tired....at least not tired enough to sleep all day.
“I’ll stay here and rest....and...I’ll be sure to eat something....but if its alright I wouldn’t want to bother others into coming here. I’ll just rest...”
“Can you tell me what happened?”

“My apologies Captain Unohana….I dont really remember much….” He frowned, fiddling with the sheets of the bed he was confined to while looking down at his lap. “I’m….sorry I couldn’t be of more help….”

By now, Izuru was well aware of his Captains affinity to run off without so much as a second glance or note so without hesitation he picked up Gin’s duties as well as his own and continued throughout his day. Morning drills ended with a flop, one of their lower seated officers getting hurt but nothing too bad. They would return in a few days. The worst of it, however, was the mound of paperwork that needed to be done.
While Izuru actually enjoyed his desk work, there seemed to be an influx recently that...without help, caused him concern. He wanted to be finished with the stack by the time his Captain would inevitibly walk through his door......though only a little more than half had actually been completed.
“Captain Ichimaru?!” He nearly jumped out of his skin. He knew he should be used to these sorts of intrusions....but he couldn’t help it in the end.
“I....Uhm morning drills went fine. There was an accident but....they will return within a few days. I sent them to Captain Unohana.....Everything else went well and I am just finishing up todays paperwork so.....so you dont have anything to worry about”
He smiled softly, standing from his desk to fix Gin some tea. A rather incessant habit of his, when someone entered.
“How was your day, Captain?”
Wayward Captain || Izuru & Gin
@hebi-zetsubo
Gin found himself humming as he wandered into The Third Division, their Captain had found himself absent all morning. Now, this was no scheduled absence but, rather one of the snake’s whims. After a few moments of sitting on the windowsill of his office, he kept no desk, the silver haired man had found himself unbearably bored. There were papers to be filed, training drills to be done, and Gin found himself uninterested in all of them and just, left.
It was a bad habit of his, leaving without warning or explanation.
The snake really had no idea how he’d been made Captain, he supposed if Captain Zaraki could hold his position it wasn’t that much of a stretch. None the less when he returned he had no doubts most of the work would primarily be taken care of, good ol’ Izuru took care of it right?
When he finally strolled in he went strait up to the lieutenants door and just entered, no knock, with a whimsical hum in his voice.

“Hey Izuru what’cha doin’? Morning training drills went okay didn’t they?”

“I think you will thoroughly enjoy this blend then. Its very delicate by flavor and its rather beautiful to watch bloom, in my opinion. There are different varieties of flowers you can choose from as well” He smiled softly, looking down at the container and fiddled with the top for a bit.
Tea was a beloved pass time of his. While being forced to endure excruciatingly long meetings with the other noble families, after his parents death, he found playing with the different flavors gave him something to look forward to. Each meeting would allow him to see the others faces as they tried something new, where he would take notes of their reactions and comments.
It was then that he began perfecting his style and now he believes himself to actually be somewhat decent at creating new and exciting varieties. Mostly thanks to this shop having such an array of flavors to try.
“To help sleep....that would be nice. I feel like I haven’t slept well in weeks. Thank you. I will be sure to try it out once I am home. Different to what I normally drink is fine with me.....I need to try something different. Besides, what I normally drink is meant to keep me awake....usually.”
It was pleasant to see the lieutenant so absorbed in something other than work, Jushiro thought, listening to his explanation and noticing the dreamy, far away look that washed over him, signifying a calm all of it’s own. His smile widened; it was always a joy to meet someone who appreciated tea as much as he did.
“Thank you lieutenant”
He took the tin eyebrow rasied in curiosity; impressed the blonde was able to recommend something so quickly despite being put on the spot and moved the container around in his hands, examining both the intricate looking tea ‘buds’ and the preparation instructions. Despite how fancy the lieutenant made it sound, the actual tea didn’t look too complex to brew. Nevertheless it sounded delectable, and he found himself looking forward to getting back to his quarters so he could make himself a cup. He could understand why this one was a particular favourite of Kira’s.
“It sounds intriguing, I do prefer my tea with a more delicate flavour than the usual varieties I come across, I’ll be sure to give it a try.”
The Captain nodded as Kira asked about the tea he’d suggested, a herbal blend that sounded completely different to what the other man normally drunk. Despite this, he hoped it would still do the trick. It was one of the few blends he used often and knew there was nothing more effective than this to help him get to sleep when needed. After all he’d said about needing to relax, Juhsiro was sure something that soothing could only be useful to the lieutenant.
“Yes, it’s a lemon balm variety; herbal and different to what you usually drink but quite refreshing and said to help you sleep. I’d recommend it.”

“You as well Miss Karin. I wouldn’t want you to fall ill. I’ll stop by, Miss Yuzu is always such a nice face to see. I hope you have fun today” He smiled, standing back up with her as a kind of courtesy to see her out.
“If there is anything else you’ll need, please let me know and I’ll be sure to get it for you as quickly as possible.”
With that, he gave her a small bow. If Izuru was anything, he was always polite. That, and he wanted to watch Karin, to make sure she was at least stable on her feet before he let her leave.
Tea Time
“Thanks.” She mumbled as she watched him flit to the back. She massaged her temples, dropped her jaw and popped her ears, rolled her neck. Waiting wasn’t her strong point, but she doubted Izuru would dally. Too sweet to, or something.
She merely popped open the bottle, shook a pill into her palm, and dry swallowed. “I’ll pick Gatorade or somethin’ on the way to the stadium. Thanks.”
She stood, brushed her skirt of imaginary crumbs. “Take care of yourself. Feel free to stop by my place anytime. Yuzu likes the company.” Granted, she’d hate to sic her father on the poor guy, but he’d live.

Inwardly he cursed himself. It seemed as though Grimmjow was lucky yet again and received a new hand. Though he wouldn’t fall so easily.
“I’ll call, and raise....fifteen”
He looked down at his cards once more. Two pair, ten high.....still not good. His only chance was to bluff his way to victory.
