Heck No, John K Stuff!

John Kricfalusi (animation's Christopher Columbus) says some cruel, weird things about every other cartoon in the world. He thinks Disney=Filmation, for one. He is also a pedophiliac, anarchic monster.

Is John Kricfalusi really that bad?
Personality-wise, yeah, people who’ve worked for him say he was a nightmare to deal with. Billy West hasn’t spoken to him since he quit as Stimpy’s voice actor and cites psychologically abusive behavior. A few women who mentored under him in their teens have alluded to creeper behavior. And then there’s just the fact that he spent most of the last few decades calling most other cartoons ugly, stupid, fake and vapid unless they were his own work, Ralph Bakshi’s, or older than 1965.Like he will gush about Yogi Bear being a pinnacle of artistic brilliance and then rip apart Filmation.Actually, I’m gonna let him speak for himself, here’s a lovely nugget from this post of his:
Tumblr media
Granted, that post is nine years old now and he seems to have calmed way the fuck down. He’s even been doing animation for the Simpsons lately, another show he used to accuse of being garbage made by non-artists, but he spent most of his career being the kind of guy who says crap like the above and burned almost every bridge he had in the animation industry.
The biggest frustration I have with him though is how right he is about so much when it comes to art and how much I’ve learned about drawing, coloring and staging from his rants. He really IS one of the most talented fucks ever to work in cartoons, but emphasis on the “fuck” part.

They’re scared because they know that the public is with Luigi.

They’re violating his rights because they need to maintain capitalism.
Keep talking about Luigi.

Roger Ramjet?
“ This Dark Age system eventually migrated into Feature production, although it was cloaked with superficial elements of how  Disney used to make cartoons and no one would admit they weren’t still doing full-animation the classical way. But 80s and 90s Disney movies sure as heck look and sound like the stuff we did for Ruby Spears and Filmation in the 80s, although with trickier camera angles and lots more inbetweens. - and airbrushed dirt all over the characters. Filmation characters covered in dust. “
If you’re going to argue that Disney is Filmation but with inbetweens, more angles, and covered in dust, I can play your game too. Roger Ramjet is Greeny Phatom with actual voice acting and a bit more solid drawing. Adult Party Cartoon is The Brothers Grunt with no wiggly lines. That blackface claymation guy (Jasper) is Family Guy in stop-motion. That knockoff Oz cartoon is Ratatoing in 2D animation with a ton of inbetweens. I could go on.

The “good low budget cartoon” in question:
youtube
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1) If Filmation is a renaissance, then Greeny Phatom and 12 Oz Mouse, along with late-2000s-and-up elementary-to-middle school aimed Canadian cartoons are great examples of good cartoons made in a low budget. They have the same style and principles as Roger Ramjet. C'mon, the background characters would work perfectly in Greeny Phatom! Going further, Johnny Test and My Gym Partner’s a Monkey would also fall under this.
2) Arbitrary? ARBITRARY? And yet you display such an opinion as well. Your love of feces like Roger Ramjet proves it.
3) Then Greeny Phatom must be good because it is just like the cruddy mid-60s zero-budget shows and lumpy commercials you grew up on. How the heck do your average 70s-80s cartoons resemble a Disney feature!?!

Can we, as a society, just collectively agree to stop doing this? It’s pretty played out by this point.

Thanks for finally compiling them all
Things cartoon writers seem to think are VERY VERY FUNNY that I never found funny even as a small child:
Hippies
Inflation
Drill sergeants
Anybody meditating and making that “ommmmmmm” sound
Cross dressing even before I was old enough to know it was also just mean
Imitations of celebrities with no additional joke about why they’re there
lol only weird boring dumb old sissies get that into art and especially ugly nonsense modern art, right kids????
That same joke but with poetry
That same joke but with interpretive dance
That same joke but with musicals
Actually aren’t all those things also gay stereotypes? Is that how they became comedy cliches? Jesus.
Any “battle of the sexes” episode
The nerd uses a “science word” that honestly most of the audience probably knows but we’re supposed to think they’re lame and weird and the other characters are like “….IN ENGLISH PLEASE”
Diapers
Bagpipe music
A character getting attached to a pet to a degree we’re supposed to find excessive and sometimes it’s supposed to be funny that it dies

And then he turned his puppet into an actual show that’s basically just a right-wing Velma.
Tumblr media
I shit you not, the guy who made this show (oh, and “The Man Show”) thinks “PC culture” is “killing art” and is making a documentary film with Tim Allen literally entitled “No Safe Spaces.”
Did a single person find this guy’s stuff funny who wasn’t either very, very high or very very five years old?

Everything you see - exists together in a delicate balance. While others search for what they can take, a true king searches for what he can give. Everything the light touches... is our kingdom. But a king's time as ruler rises and falls like the sun.

The reason why causes like the fight against KOSA don't go anywhere is because you fuckers give up too quickly.
You see one advancement from that damned bill and drop your sword and say that it's over.
Wake the fuck up.
If we don't keep fighting, even if it's gone silent for a while, that shit's gonna go through without us even knowing. Fight tooth and nail. Show them that we can and will beat their asses if they don't straighten up. And don't just say we will. Actually do something if it does pass. They think we'll take this sitting down and will just lay there. We need to prove them wrong.
But if we don't get on their asses and lay down like cowards, they'll think they have power. You bitches who say "it was a good run" or "I can't do anything so we're fucked" are part of the problem.
KOSA and KOSA adjacent bills blatantly violate several amendments in the US constitution. People need to realize that.
And if you don't think you have a voice or can't stop it in any way, yes you can. Do research on your rights, don't just get your info from Tumblr or wherever else. Go on and search on your own. Especially if it's something you've seen and you're unsure if it's true.
Misinformation can murder a cause.
You can do things, you just need to find a group.
And don't just keep KOSA online. Tell people you know. Make them care. If they think it's a good idea, change their minds. Don't "agree to disagree."
And don't just not care because you've lost faith. You can still try. And if peace doesn't work, get physical. Get dirty. We've done it for causes like Palestine, we can do it for this.* (read the tags for my elaboration on that- i don't want people getting the wrong idea.)
Organize. Attack. Scream. Make them hear you. Because if we don't, they're gonna take full control.

The Iranian Regime is going to execute rapper Toomaj Salehi for supporting protests of Jina Amini’s murder by the regime in his songs.
Iranian activist Elica Le Bon says, “Iranians in the diaspora picked up on the fact that the regime tends not to execute people who become known to the international community. We have seen many examples of prisoners that were either released on bail or had their sentences commuted through our “say their names to save their lives” campaign on social media, using hashtags to garner attention for their causes, and even before social media existed, through getting the stories of political prisoners to international media outlets. Once reported on, and once the eyes shift to the regime and the reality of its pending brutality, realizing that the action is not worth the repercussions, we have seen them back down and not execute. For that reason, this is part of an urgent campaign for readers to talk about Toomaj as much as you can, using the hashtag #FreeToomaj or #ToomajSalehi. Every comment makes a difference, and if we were wrong, what did we lose by trying?”
