And when he runs into fascism – like the cops,” he said, taking the zine from the other and flipping to the still-warm page. “He converts them, spreading himself through them.”

“Hello, I’m Enn, short for ‘Henry’?” his voice tipped up at the end of his sentence, looking for his audience’s acknowledgement before continuing.

“I have a few copies of my fanzine I was hoping you could distribute for me. Well, for me and my mates.” He gave a small smile and extended the short stack of five or six magazines, the cover photocopied almost to the point of unrecognition.

“Has it really been so long that you’ve forgotten?” She asked. And you call yourself a god….

Very well. “I wasn’t looking for  y o u . I had been looking for a divine relic, one that might allow myself full command of my angelic station again. Instead, I found a box formerly contained within all the harm that could befall humanity – plagues, viruses diseases, and misfortunes. Virtual pestilence at the tip of one’s fingertips.

“By the time I rediscovered it, all that remained was humanity’s  H O P E  and you.

“I opened the box, curious as to see what might belong amongst the worst things that could happen to my father’s chosen creations. And you  s p r u n g  forth in front of me, claiming a deep gratitude to the Ruler of Hell for releasing you from an eternity sent to your room.”

“Uh-huh,” he replies, almost pointedly to his friend. It hadn’t been just all that long since Angel had died – hell, it hadn’t been just all that long since the two of them had met.

“So what you thinking then?” he teased, sitting heavily next to Roger.
