i will always stand with girls, but for something like this its simple human decency. the whole thing is extremely sad. i am the age that Cassie was when she met him and i can't imagine how trapped she must've felt being exposed to such horrid things being so young

everyone victim blaming and wondering why she stayed for 11 years does not understand the cycle of narcissism, the highs and lows of being emotionally manipulated and groomed, and being in love with your abuser. there are women who have stayed 50+ years with a man who literally had nothing to offer aside from abuse. it's not a matter of money or her "staying because she liked it", she was blackmailed with revenge porn and he tried to kill her whenever she tried to leave. sometimes it takes years to recognize your own trauma as well

her husband said it best—nobody saved cassie but cassie. she's so strong and i actually wanted to vomit hearing some of the things she went through. what makes me even more sad is a lot of people fantasize about those very things on here and that is why i will never be comfortable with any non consensual themes. women are rarely believed unless there is physical proof or until they are dead and that's exactly what happened to my mother :/
