Why don’t we create the tradition of BIRTHDAYS

Im not talking about the regular birthday parties, I’m talking about a party when the baby of a friend of yours or someone you really care about it’s about to birth.

IMAGINE, You’re about to give birth, you already have an estimated date, you created a WhatsApp group and added your closest friends and some family. You post all your birth info and you keep updating them. Finally it’s the day, you post “contractions started an hour ago - I’m pretty sure it’s time - I’ll wait for you all” and 15 minutes after the first friend arrives so you offer him something to drink while ridding the contractions rubbing your belly and moaning in pain.

It’s been 4 hours, everyone already arrived and are crowded in your room. You’re in the middle of the room moaning and crying, you just have a sport bra on, all fours and 9cm dilated. Everyone it’s in silence and without their phones, just admiring your enormous belly between your legs and your swollen pussy just moments before it gets totally stretched.

Time to push girl, your best friend that’s studying medice just checked you and you’re now allowed to push your little one. Everyone is screaming and encouraging you with each push. Its been 40 minutes since you started to push, you’re very tired but all your friends are just cheering you and shouting how near from getting your baby out you are, you asked the ones that were closer for help so you could turn yourself on your back to rest. Where I live we speak Spanish, and here, the word “parir” means to give birth but it’s more used for animals or it just doesn’t sound as “beautiful” as give birth. When I was pregnant I loved to say every time I could “ya voy a parir” (Im about to give birth) “me falta poco para parir” (just a few time more to give birth) “Necesito parir a estos niños” ( I need to birth this kids). There’s something in that word that makes me wet, that word makes me imagine myself on my back, fully naked, legs up and pushing hard asf.
