End of year show presentation
So for the end of year show, I'm thinking of maybe presenting my project by showcasing the Youtube video I made instead of getting my game to play.
So I'm going to have 1 screen with my slides with the research, development, etc. And then the other screen is just going to be the YouTube video I made playing in the background.

Project finished
So I have now finished my project and submitted all of the files, completed my presentation, evaluation and also finished my proposal. I managed to create nearly everything I wanted to do. I implemented a dash ability, added a vehicle for the player to drive around in. I integrated a first to third person perspective change and I'm actually quite happy about how it turned out. Also, created wandering npcs with blendspaces and animation blueprints, something I was new to but now know how to do it, as well as an enemy npc that only shoots at you when you enter his vicinity. I'm quite happy with how this project.

I've decided to take some in game screenshots of my project. The first 3 screenshots are of the environment. I wanted to show off the landscaping tools and painting tools I used. The next screenshots are pretty much just showing off mechanics, so the dash ability and also the first person perspective. Also, the ai.

Creating a text for controls
In order for the player to understand the controls, I've just made a very simple 3d text render which will be dragged into my game and you will be able to read all of the controls for the mechanics.
I made a blueprint, added the "TextRender", changed the text and size, and that was it. Nice and easy instead of creating an entire new menu and stuff.

Game name - Cybernetic Assault
With a bit of help from ChatGPT, I was able to generate some game names with all the genres and themes of my game. In the end, I chose "Cybernetic Assault". I think it suits the theme and genre of the game pretty well, the cybernetic part to do with the exohumans and with the assault it fits in with the battle.
Edit: I think I'm going to change the name, it sounds too generic. I've been thinking and I think I'm just going to go with the name 'Evo'. Its very short and a one word name, but I think it works better than the previous one. Evo can stand for evolution, and how humans have evolved over time. As my game is set at like around 100 years in the future, you can see how the world has evolved, with some exohumans, and all of the futuristic buildings and things.
Other games with short names / 1 word titles:
Doom - Shooter
Portal - Puzzle
Fable - rpg
Ico - platformer
Bully - action adventure

Changing the sky mesh
Using a randomly generated sky blueprint that I found in the Unreal Marketplace, I am going to play around with the sky settings so I can get the perfect sky which will fit well with my environment.
I dragged the blueprint in, and then deleted the previous sky mesh. Then, in the section called "Sky Global Setting", you can tweak all the settings to make a sky how you want it. What I did was press "Use All Random", which would randomly generate me a sky whenever I clicked it, and I just clicked it until I found the one I wanted.
This is what I chose. I like the contrast in the sky, and it has nice clouds too, which sort of fits the dystopian sort of vibe. Maybe.

Skies and foliage - No Mans Sky research
In No Mans Sky, you can find really beautiful planets with all kinds of cool skies. As the game is procedurally generated and every planet is different, every sky is also different, with different vibrant colours every time. I've found some cool images that I'll use for inspiration for my games sky.
